Poor baby is looking around like, what is happening? Are we under attack or something? Lol
Fortunate baby, this is what being a siamang is all about, making sure you’ve got enough fruit-bearing vegetation within shouting distance, no other assholes to steal it from you.
Funny? They're majestic as fuck!
They are great a very noisy :-)
1:42 you said you do chin ups? Hold my beer
Fascinating video - thanks for the long, continuous take - it captures the experience of watching live. Noticed they sometimes place their hand flat in front of the mouth while calling, apparently to "hear themselves", much like a singer will sometimes close an ear to monitor their own voice.
Thanks :-) It was fun to watch it in real life and very, very loud as well :-)
Tygerabbit what are they calling for? Or it there way of communicating?
Yes, also noticed the hand thing. :-)
@@angelaflt6919, I've been told it's a territorial thing, i.e., they are telling the world that that is THEIR territory, why they sometimes get very animated when a crowd gathers. Just a show within a show! :-)
Odd that (in this vid) only the nursing mother 'covers' her call.
This is fricking epic
Hi LiteLab. It was great show, I didn't expect it to be like this, so long and noisy :-)
They very cute and funny thank you for sharing it very nice video .
Guys, the baby's trying to sleep.
Hi. It looks like a baby is tired.
I thought they only did that when calling to each other? That would get old real quick.
Hi. This screaming has something to do with they territory I suppose :-)

Why do they makes those noises?
Territorial dominance. They can smell you from a mile away.
To atrract female gibbon ?
@@SkyActives Nah this isn't a mating call. This is a territorial call of an already paired male and female announcing to any would-be siamangs in the distance that this area belongs to them and their kids, and no one better dare come and eat any of their food.
Hi. Thanks for explanation. I had no idea what are they doing by screaming so much.
Why do they continue to howl and not stop?
They have autism
Get off my lawn...
The howling displays go on for about 30 minutes at a time, and can be heard up to 2 miles away
