Я смотрел тот финал в прямом эфире, мне было 12 лет. Помню, как плакал после финала, тогда это для меня было горем, ведь в группе СССР тогда обыграли Нидерланды 1:0. Игра в финале была очень достойная, сборная СССР вообще была впечатляющей, в полуфинале обыграли Италию 2:0, а до этого обыграли Англию 3:1. Как же я тогда прыгал и орал от счастья, от таких побед. Спасибо Великому Лобановскому за такие эмоции. Эх, хорошее время было.

It was during the summer of '88, after my freshman year in college in Minnesota. A team of 7 of us classmates travel to Africa for a whole summer corps trip to Ivory Coast. We watch this game from live there. I still remember it like yesterday. I remember the goals. This game encourage me to play my 4 years of college soccer.
I watched this game when i was a boy in VN. My family had no TV (even black & white) So I went to a Coffee shop to watch the game there. Holland team motivated me to play soccer during the uinversity time

I remember this game and I was gutted when the Soviets lost. They played a good game and had very good chances. They were a world class side with world class players. Belanov missed a bad penalty. He ended up not getting picked for the World Cup in 1990. I recall Kusnetsov's absence was a blow for them. He was suspended for the final.

So I also doubt 94's Italy. Same reason Brazil 98 is not qualified because they lost to France. But you hint me France 98~00 may be qualified. Spain 2008~2012 was great, but its great came from Barca the same time. I don't think Bosque is a so great coach. So I choose Barce of Pep rather than the Spain national team. Ajax under van Gaal was great, but their shining time was too short.
