Recommendation- As you turn your land from the state it is now. Please remember to plant fruit bushes and trees, nut trees, maple sugar trees, and shade trees for the animals to have as scratching post and shade trees from the sun and weather. You might at first need to put fences around them as they grow but when they big they be able to stand up to the animals try to eat their leaves or wear the bark as they use it as a starching post. Also it will give you other sources of food for you and the animals. To be self sustaining farm the land needs more than just grass. I hope you enjoy your new life. Best wishes.

i noticed the big tree beside the silo, would be perfect for a porch swing!!
Run the animals through all that before you clear, and make sure to leave good trees for shade. Just a thought.

Hey Jason!!!! Loved the layout and look forward to all the builds... I know this is premature but I want to plant a seed in your head for the silo build... A stair case that wraps along the wall so that it allows you maximum use of the ground floor. That and it would look kick A$$. I was thinking open loft but decided no lets not do that due to sound issues. Also I was thinking you could put an attic in for additional storage. Yes Bro, 3 story grain silo home.... Has that been done???

The Rocky west end of Creek would eventually make a Great Pond.! Not only for animals but for fish too! Catfish, Bass Crappie and Blue Gill. HM 122 should be on the back side of the Yellow barn square. The back half of the Property would be for Selective Log harvesting AND Tree planting, like Fast growing Poplar and Pine. Popular is in Demand for cabinets etc. The plan Looks good. Remember to Thank Jesus for what You have. You won't go wrong if you do this. Be Blessed!

Hi guys, keep in mind not to allow run off that may carry any animal waste into your creek or pond. I noticed the slope of the land so be mindful of this issue. You can always build low berm that could prevent, don't allow livestock to cross the creek without installing a modest culvert long enough to allow for a tractor/truck to cross. This might seem ridiculous to some but it doesn't to anyone down stream. Fecal coliform can be deadly and at least problematic for livestock and humans. Likewise beaware of what is happening upstream. One last point, goats are cute and provide milk. But they are very destructive and will eat your 10 acre's like they are possessed and do not listen at all. Im jealous of your mission and wish you both many Blessings. Peace. Rex.

Jason use the tractor to contour the creek, and all those rocks to line it for ground erosion. It will look beautiful.

Jason, The layout looks great! Can you tell us what app you used to map it out? You should utilize the creek bed especially those steeper rocky walls on the west side to create your second pond. Put a bridge on the east side
