  • Recently discovered your videos for the first time, and I've been hooked ever since. Lovely footage as always of kina scooping action, but also lovely to see the seal and the lobsters. Even if one of them got abducted 😂

  • All of those sea grasses look so comfortable... I bet second lobster was straight chilling in a beanbag chair, when suddenly my man shows up with a full plate of dinner.

  • I've watched a few of your videos and was wondering if this is a government sponsored program? Is there a bounty for them? Or do you do it on your own initiative to help control these harmful pests?? Very cool watching you guys in action! EDIT: Or maybe it's a commercial operation? Is there a market for these beasties?? I know other types of urchins are prized table fare.

    @dlmsarge8329@dlmsarge832913 күн бұрын
    • There's a local market for kina (this species of sea urchin) here, so imagine it's a commercial setup (the boat they dock up to at the end is definitely a small commercial fishing vessel). Apparently these have a 'bitter' taste to it though, so doesn't get exported, as no-one overseas wants it versus other species (think Japan etc).

  • What determines when you use the hand held baskets and the ones attached to a line? Is it determined by the location?

    @shadowwolf2608@shadowwolf260813 күн бұрын
    • Not positive but my theory is when he has the handheld he has a scuba set on and when he has a tethered one he is free diving as the line acts to both help him find it after resurfacing and so he doesn't have to haul a giant bag of urchins up to the surface or drag along the floor. I could be wrong though because he has said he does mostly free diving I believe
