i managed to get the nova pro's like a month ago and im happy with them so far
Last year I bought arctis 5 coz of your recommendation, it's still good but i watched this and you said it's a complete win for an upgrade. Then I'll buy this Nova 3 next year! Hahaha.
I got the pros 1 week before these came out. Wish I would have had the option.the pro ARE fantastic. I took a gamble on the discomfort from the ancient nub. For me yes its pretty noticeable. Not to bad though. My issue has been perfecting the fit. It seemed like they were bent a little. Fit like a bent pair of sunglasses 😎. I ware them loose and seems to have broken in.
I recommend this headset, overall a good headset, mic, sound all good. Definitely a good buy.

The fact that you hear the vois when plugged on usb , is that you need to disable the "Local Effect Microphone" it's in low as default, and that's the reason that you still hear your voice. This option is on the Engine software>Arctis Nova 3.

I use the Stealth 700 gen 2, if they ever break, I probably go with the 7X though, I have my 700's for 2 years. Going strong! Love the videos Mister Techne.
I really wanted to like the stealth 700 gen 2's but found them very uncomfortable. Are they ok for you? Also the receiver stopped working after a day or two for me lol. The sound and bluetooth was really good though and I wish they were comfortable for me
@@faiello19 they are, and I wear glasses and have a big head 😂. They needed a few days to 'break in' on the clamping force. And now I don't even feel them on my head. Sometimes i forget them and try to go out LOL. Maybe the 7X is the right one for you. And that the receiver went 'bye have a good time' is unfortunate :/ I have the gen 2, not the max. I don't use a dongel.

At the moment I have to decide between Blackshark V2 X and the Steelseries Arctis Nova 3....only downside on the Blackshark is the mic, that is undetachable, and the cable also. Which one would you recommen soundwise? You say, the V2 X has more bass....is it possible to add those lack of bass to the Nova 3 using this software?
After a long deliberation on what to get, I just had to get these because of its current 60usd price which is the best I can get at that price point and of ALL the headphones that are available, well at least branded as a "gaming" headphones, arctis are the only headphones that dont use those fake leather or pleather some people call it because after a year or so of use those just come right off

Got my Nova 7x earlier today and I was wondering if you were going to touch on the earpads being slightly firmer. I noticed it right away and for me it's the first time I don't have to replace the Sportsweave earpads right away. With the old ones, they were just a tad soft to where my ears touched the speaker drivers. The new earpads are perfect.
Are they worth it ?

@@danilo9642 ...yes they work wirelessly on the PS5. Simply toggle the switch on the dongle to USB instead of Xbox

Hey can you make some sound quality/imaging comparisons with other competing headsets please? E.g. Atlas Elite Pro/G Pro X/H6 Pro/HyperX Alpha S. I heard these Novas were especially good at imaging compared to others is that true? I know you mentioned the blackshark at the end but all you really said was it had more bass. Thanks!
The Artics range has pretty good imaging for a closed back headset and the Nova 3 is no exception.

Food for thought. On the blacksharks you cannot remove the headphone cable. So if that gets damaged the headset is worthless. i think all steelseries cables are replaceable.

@@TheTechne Another great energetic review You can see my comments about my opinion on the Nova Pro Wireless on that video, which I think is a step back from the old Pro Wireless I received the Nova 7 today and been tested for hours. I have to say that it’s definitely a better sounding headset than the old 7’s and once you get that sweet spot of EQ, it actually sounds very similar to the Nova Pro Wireless Previously it was a big difference between the old 7’s and Pro Wireless, because the Pro Wireless was actually 10Hz-40,000Hz in wireless mode compared to the old 7’s 20Hz-20,000Hz Now it’s not actually that much of a difference, because the Nova Pro Wireless is 10Hz-22,000Hz in wireless mode. You only get the 10Hz-40,000Hz in wired mode, so it’s the same as the Nova 7 I had the old Arctis 3 and 5 and whilst I’ve not tried the new Nova 3, I’m confident it’s much better than those

I can hear everything the mic is picking up in the speakers, is it supposed to be like that? I know I can mute the mic, but won't that also disable noise cancellation?
The 3.5mm sounds nicer than the USB. Not as thin sounding. Sounded better than. the mic you are using for the main video.

Pls help me , I have the Arctis Pro wired without DAC and I connected it through USB to my PS5 both front and back but it does not work , no audio coming from the headset but the lights on the headphones work .

Those are very different headsets. The EPOS H6Pro open-back is a great no-frills headset but steer clear of the GSX 300 bundle. You'd be better off getting a different DAC/amp like a Schiit. The Steelseries Nova Pro Wired would be my pick out of the two Nova headsets simply because it sounds better and gives you heaps of control over the eq and what you can connect it to.

Anybody know how to make the mic and RGB work for Xbox? I bought a usb c splitter but it still didn’t work.
I have Steelseries Arctics Nova 3, for some reason my microphone doesn't work together with audio, if I play the audio, my microphone suddenly turns off so then I try to unplug and plug the cable then microphone is back but audio stops working. Any idea if there is any solution? Because of that stupid issue i have to use old headset for microphone. I have updated SteelseriesGG and firmware is updated to latest. My OS is Windows 11 Pro 2H22 and everything is updated.

O.o Is it me or did the mic on the Nova 3 sounded better than on the Nova 7X? Although still seem expensive. Specially compared with other similar headset. At 100 you are already around and sometimes over the wireless ones. And I do considered wired better than wireless in many instance. Shouldn't that add to the cost. And therefore not having wireless made them cheaper? I think I'll add this high on the list. But only consider them if on sale or something. I want to have a good mic, in case I even need it. I don't actually need it right now. I'm just thinking, if I'm gonna pay premium for a headset I will only use when gaming. They might as well do something else. Nova 7 are currently on sale for 140. Making this look even worst. But I now gotta go back and hear those mics again.

Oh man, disappointing that the cups aren't deeper than the old Arctis range. I ordered a pair of 7's direct from SS.... but this info coupled with the awful frequency response on the Soundguys review. Just... sadness.

So did I catch you correctly, the nova 3 are basically an upgrade to the arctis 5s but the arctis 5 can save EQ settings on the headset while the nova 3 can't?
Did you figured this out? I've seen some reviews for some SteelSeries claiming that settings do save to the headset. But here he says it doesn't. So, is it a some do and some don't. Or perhaps his software hasn't been updated to one that have that featured? Looking for headset and still can't figure out which.

No. You have to have them plugged into a PC to use those features via Sonar

Dont rotate your headset then, also braided cables make a ton of sound when youre wearing a headset
as arctis 5 user ear cushion is so bad, it gives alot of heat after 3-2 hour of gaming ,for me i will cancel this one also the mic is not much of difference

Depends on what you're using them with. On PC through the Sonar software and on PS5 with select games they do. Otherwise, they are stereo.
Just got myself an arctis 3 (not the nova)
Overall, for the price, i like them. The cables are TRASH...I just swapped to a braded/not stiff usb C to usbA...works great.
The biggest turnoff with Steelseries headphones is the retractable microphone - why can't they make them with a detachable mike like EVERYONE? It doesn't sound great and also I am worried about the durability of the retract mechanism, after some time of usage I bet the mike is gonna live its own life.

I've been using an arctis 3 for like 2-3 years and i never had a problem with that mic thing. My brother in christ mechanism inside is dead simple anyway.
Buddy you said Blackshark v2 x is the best. I got them and they don’t work with ps5. Volume knob doesn’t work bc it’s usb. Ps5 doesn’t support it. Thanks for bad advice. Going back to nova 3 to buy them.

Steelseries are the most uncomfortable headphones ever made. I dont know how they do it, but Ive bought every version so far because of this guys videos and every single time they hurt the top of my head so much. Meanwhile, the new razer ones feel like a cloud despite being much heavier.
complete opposite steelseries are if not the one of the most comfortable the ears stay soft after long periods of gaming I've played with 2019 arctis 5 for 12 hours and longer periods and the headband is the reason why it beats most other companies
