The audio on this is fantastic.
Villeneuve may think he's less interesting than his films --- which are stellar --- but because I love his films, and the SAG/WGA strike may still bar actor film promotions in the runup to Dune 2 opening, thank God he's in fact so winningly personable! As a producer of Dune 2 he'll be free to promote the film. Re-watched Arrival at home recently --- it remains my favorite of his with its poignant themes of love, loss, joy, family (permanent or more briefly chosen), memory, time and change, so well acted and directed, visually stunning in every frame. (Alert/spoiler if haven't seen it: The human/alien "hand" scene of Abbott and Costello on the other side of transparent enclosure from Amy Adams: "Now that's a proper introduction." Still takes my breath away.) Not that Dune 1 wasn't also uniquely stamped with the Villeneuve talent, but the trailers, expanded cast and intersecting story lines for Dune 2 foretell revisiting in changed context the Arrival themes via Frank Herbert's epic improved by Villeneuve's filmic vision. Less than 4 months 'til Nov. 3, 2023!
Yep, I love talented people who're able to wear multiple hats! And regarding Dune, now that Dune 1.2 is out, you should really re-evaluate your thoughts on 1.1 by watching them as intended-a singular 5 hr film.
