  • The sheer growth of Kratos not just as a dad but as a man and as a human being...a slow, slow development of a sense of humor and playfulness towards his son ("Is it?"), of tolerance towards the unique quirks of others (asking Mimir for a story), of indulging his own silly quirks (wanting to see the wolves, petting his doggos, etc.), learning to appreciate the advice of others...I expected character growth of him, yes, but I didn't expect it at this level. Juuuust enough to make him more wholesome while still keeping him stoic.

  • About the "juicy noken": Nøkken are water spirits that appear in many forms, including humans, but usually as horses. The one Brok saw must have had two... very impressive human attributes. The horse nøkken were said to drown those who rode them, which could tie in to Mimir's story of parents telling children a kelpi would do so if they went too close to the water.

  • 15:13 I kinda wanna explain this story Mimir tells because the word choices are very complicated and the implications are subtle. Basically this guy, a Laird who is meant to practice discipline, and not get tempted by worldly desires and stuff, helps out a women cross a river by carrying her on his back. His brother who witnesses the thing happen sees this as the Laird breaking that vow because he believe the Laird left himself undignified and succumbed to the temptation of a women in some way, contrary to their aforementioned vows. The Laird replies that all he did was help her across (not breaking the vow), however he tells the Brother that it is HIM who broke the values that they typically go by by allowing that bottled up anger to take control of him, constantly thinking about the situation. This is where the "tis you who carries her still" line comes from. It means that the brother still carries her (the situation) in his mind and hasn't let go of it yet. It's actually some pretty clever and intelligent word play I'm kinda impressed by the developers and I had to play it back and look up words just to understand it.

He's an example that strength doesn't have to come from Brute force. And Atreus with his carefree nature, wonder of the world, and warmth of heart was what Kratos needed to be able to show love. Theyre both such great counterbalances to what he lacks but strives for, and they help him to be a better man(his wife and freya were very important too).

It easily takes you out of the emersion, if you had an emotional conversation seconds ago and then troll Freya by calling for the wolves again or trying to eavesdrop on Odin and Heimdall 6 times in a row, but they just stand there like a wooden plank.
