One day, a limping mother cat showed up at our garden and she was meowing loudly for food. When I followed her later, I found her whole family in the bushes! Mom cat and her cute little meowing kittens were all living in a tiny space among the bushes!

We went through this last winter in Colorado. A young pregnant cat showed up on our covered porch every night asking for food. After she had the kittens we tracked her back in a new fallen snow. She had them in a dirt cave under someone's cement slab porch on the next street. When they were 4 weeks old they followed her scent to our house where she stayed too long at dinner. We trapped them and her and kept them in our garage for 3 weeks. Socialized the kittens, took mom to be spayed and adopted the kittens out. After Mom's spay we turned her loose. She went no further than that porch. Now she sleeps indoors with our two strictly indoor cats and takes all her cues from them on indoor manners. She has even started sleeping with them on our bed at night. Happy ending.

The mother must have been a pet at some point in her life, she didn't act feral at all.

I used to feed a feral kitten. Her mom used to be ours but she ran away, month's later she came back with a 2 or 3 month old kitten. We took the mom inside, but the kitten would scratch, bite and hiss at us, she was small but she was a little ball of pure rage and fear. We decided to let mom be with her kitten as the mom wouldn't stay quiet, she wanted to go to her kitten. Eventually we maneged to get both inside, take them to the vet and sterilize both. The little kitten would ALWAYS put up a fight she drew blood from the vet and us countless times, but we wouldn't give up. She ran away weeks later, and her mom followed her. We've never seen her since.

Her kittens were healthy partly due to those 2 "squares" a day she was getting in your garden. You're a true cat-lover!
Seeing her reaction as you pulled back the bushes, so calm, it seemed clear that she had decided this was the day she would show you her kittens. She's a good little cat with a pretty little chirrup-y meow. By now all the kittens are young adults and hopefully are all having nice cat lives!
And what good care she was taking of them! She might have been underweight but those kittens were all very nicely fed, were clean, and anxious to explore - all good signs she was caring for them well. (And that one little one nomming on the plastic bowl while Mommy ate was just adorable)

I also think the kitten was teething, honestly. They were close enough and big enough to move just a bit more into the bowl, so I assumed they were doing it on purpose at that point.

I FUCKING KNOOOOOOOWWWW, that was LITERALLY the most, adorable thing I've EVER seen a kitten do in my ENTIRE life; and I've had lots of cats (raised from kittens, were adults when I got them; but most I got when they were kittens) throughout my life and have fostered hundreds of kittens.... ALL were adorable and did adorable things, but THAT kitten gumming/licking/sucking the bowl, trying to be a big kitty just like momma; IS the MOST adorable thing I've witnessed a kitten do!!!

William Schields that was on purpose because it was a baby so he was trying to imply a baby talk
survival instincts tell him to do what mom does. that is how they learn to eat and what to eat. unfortunately, like we all do when someone is teaching us a new skill, the kittens don't get it quite figured out and eat the bowl instead of the food. it takes a few tries before they figure it out. they also fall into the water bowl while mom is trying to drink and mom has to fish them out.
Poor, scared, hungry, brave Momma cat. Because you trusted this kind, good man you won a new life for your babies and yourself. Wonderful video.

@Ganda Gandara happened with me, I used to feed 4 cats but only two would be friendly with me one of the cats doesn't come close to me at all so I have to put the food outside and then leave but his sibling is actually really friendly,I don't know where that cats went I hope they found a nice house to live in
I think credit also goes to the person behind the camera. They are gentle enough that the mumma trusted them to come to her hideout.
That mean she is a cat who got used to be with people. The feral cat by the other hand, is almost a wild cat and is the one who don't tolerate the people because never got used to them.
My grandmother, had this stray at her house, she called Smokey. She wouldn’t let Nana touch her, nor would she come in the house, but she came and got her to show her the new babies. Nana would feed her twice a day, but anytime she’d tried to touch her, Smokey would cower and run off. But she lived a very long life and kept the premises free of “vermin”.
I had a cat for 10 years, found her as a kitten wandering my apartments. She was a stray but she instantly connected with me. She recently passed away, but ill never forget my sweet little baby who wandered into my life from nowhere.

That is one caring mother of a cat, I must say. She hid her kittens in a tucked away corner, only left when people weren't looking to ensure her kittens' safety, was wary of every action acted upon her kittens, and inspected every inch of her new foster home to identify any possible threats to her and her babies. She has a limped leg, but her will ain't limping any time soon. Thanls for giving her patience and love as well, so that she and her kittens could receive treatment and live a better life.

No this was recorded in Turkey. We have many many stray cats and are always friendly to humans because the local humans look after them and are socialised properly. Unfortunately we have a fair few with disease or disability so they may not get the proper health care they need to sustain their families.

This Mother cat’s story is inspirational, a year later. I think about human behavior and compare it to the instincts of a Mother cat. Here is a Mother barely receiving info nutrition herself and caring bravely for 5?babies. Plus she has a physical problem; she does not use this as an excuse not to care for babies. This Mother cat 🐈 I hope to keep her in mind: so I remind myself when not quite well that there are some responsibilities that a Mother or caregiver keeps. All i can say is. This cat has so much trust for you- all of this was pure trust. This cat came to eat, but could have easily ran ahead and avoided you following her, she could have hissed and attacked you for even coming close to her kittens, but no. She trusted you, she knew you would help them. And that brings tears to my eyes, because she got lucky that she chose to trust you, because some other cruel people might have not. This warms my heart so much, when the cat purred as you put her kittens in a safe cage- you'd think that she'd be terrified, but her purring at this action was a clear sign that she knew you wouldn't do anything to harm her kittens, and will put them in a better position. I have watched alot of rescue videos, and this indeed is the most trusting cat, even when cats have been fed they still fear the person, and run away, but she was so different.

That's what I was thinking when I watched the video. How trustful and friendly the mother cat is. I am so glad she came to him, knowing that she is definitely going to be taken care of.
Maybe there's a communication between cats on friendly humans and houses were food can be found, because this cat literally came to them to ask for help and as you said trusted them completely. I think that cats are capable of such complex behaviour, I've seen a video of a cat in Japan which is so altruistic that she gives food to other adult cats, i couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it.

Rolling over in the ground and showing her stomach upside is sign of trust. cats only does that to someone only if they trust them.
That mother scavenged for food, found shelter for her babies, probably had to fight, and overall just survived all the while having a bum leg. Now her kittens will be able to live their lives off the street and in a loving home.

I agree. and anyone correct me if i’m wrong but I heard that it’s always traumatizing to the kittens to leave their mother from such an early age.
frank Yeah they cant develop the same way as kittens would with a mother, ita not really traumitising, cats dont feel in that way, but they cant (for example) learn how to hunt by seeing it first, they need to learn it by themself. And the mothermilk is better than regular cat food or cat milk out there.

Dude the cat must really trust you, a mother is always very agressieve if you Touch her kittens. She really needed help and she understanded that you wanted to help her.
They did say that the cat came everyday for food twice a day, until they found the kittens

I am very familiar with the Mom Cat but had never seen the first installment of her and her babies's story! Mom was so skinny! It was a good thing she was coming to your place for food twice a day. Such a good Mommy! Had her babies well hidden and very concerned when they were put in the carrier without her, and later checking out her new foster home. Even though she was spayed and showed no desire to go through the parenting work again, she was a devoted Mother. I will not give away the ongoing story as there are a few more wonderful episodes for your subscribers to check out!

According to language they talk, the cats are located in Turkey. Literally in Turkey there are no feral cats because every cat is treated very gentle by everybody. Even mosques are open for cats during winter time. That's why the mommy cat is acting normally.

I’m honestly happy cats in Turkey are treated kindly, unlike where I live, where little kids torture the young, once I found a new born kitten with it’s tail cut to the base and it’s leg was mangled... I cried so hard because someone would do something so horrible to an innocent creature that hadn’t even began to live.. and someone came to my door holding two kittens and told me that gasoline was poured on them and they were kicked... and some little twat drowned a kitten!!!
