Roscoe field is a unique airport tucked into Class C airspace with Navy Pensacola just 3 miles away (and home to the Blue Angels). Because of this, patterns must be flown under a 700' hard airspace ceiling and in a narrow surface Class C cutout. All approaches start from the North and close trees make spotting the airport a challenge for the unfamiliar.
The video starts from the 45 entry to left downwind at 500'.
About the aircraft: 1959 Piper Comanche with 250hp Lycoming engine and 3 blade McCauley propeller.
Nice landing!
Thanks!
As a Mooney Drv, I’ve always been a fan of the PA24-250.
I've only been in a Mooney a couple times. But both share a lot of the same characteristics with a nice, fast wing.
The instruments its totaly diferent witch compare othets comanches. What a uniqe verrson?
Given their age and the massive changes in avionics over the last 60 years almost every Comanche is different. The panel was converted to a traditional center stack years ago and more recently upgraded with the Garmin G5's turning it into a no-vacuum panel with significant redundancy in attitude indicators.
