Watch several examples of how to safely remove ear wax from Olde English Babydoll Southdown Sheep.
Yes, even sheep get ear wax! I remove their ear wax annually, in the springtime, during the wool shearing and hoof trimming sessions. This way, you only have to catch them once, while getting multiple things accomplished. A shearing stand works best for restraining the animal during ear cleaning. Enjoy.

I don't have sheep but youtube suggested me to watch it so I do. I guess I'm the sheep
😆
That’s deep
I hate ti admit, but me too
LOL! Facts.
🙈🙊🐏🐑🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The sheep actually look like they enjoyed the cleaning and leaning into it! Must feel so good for them!
Idk how I ended up here watching this video but it's super satisfying to watch animals be taken care of!
No wonder they don’t come when they’re called!!
I just searched Teddy Bear Ears for the heck of it.
Yes, I had no idea sheep needed extra ear care, it's good to educate people like this ❤🐑
@@LABoyd-mx5px oh JB JB JJ in MN or you fr on if NV it by ft ft
and then used and/or slaughtered
Just saying, you could do multiple ear cleaning videos and get lots of viewers for that alone! Ear wax is a big thing on KZhead. It was so relaxing to watch this! Thanks for sharing.
Totally agree lots of ppl live for this stuff.
Yes! I hope it happens!
Yes do this!
Agree. Also turtles being scrapped clear of barnacles and such.
Karen, are you suggesting another rabbit hole for some of us? ;-)
I would literally donate money on patreon to see regular videos about this. Holy hell what a goldmine, so happy this was recommended
You would love Audiology Associates! Human ear wax cleaning, but super satisfying as well!!
So good to see farm animals being treated so kindly and gently as so often that's not the case.
That was fantastic! I never knew sheep’s ears needed to be cleaned out! I watched this twice in a row
Those babies know you love them. Look how calm they are.
Yes, they definitely learn to trust us. The young lambs are scared the first year or two, then as they get older, they earn our trust. I had a few that would trust me with their lambing. It was pretty special. 🙂
Don't know much about sheep. Never thought this could be a problem. How fascinating. I'm trained in removing wax from human ears. I can imagine how nice it must feel for them.
Looked like they still had wax and or dirt down in the canal. You can tell they enjoyed it by how they were leaning into you while you pull it out. Way to go a step further in taking care of your lovelies. Looking forward to more videos.
I've never even thought about sheep ear cleaning lol......totally loved though 😊
They must feel so much better when you’ve cleaned their ears, good job!
😣 wish I could see a video of them getting there ear cleaned all the way this is so relaxing
That was an EXPERIENCE! I had no idea that sheep got ear wax buildup like that. If I was a sheep, I would be 1st in line to get my ears cleaned out 🐑👂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
They are all so beautiful and well behaved 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks for sharing! Your sheep look happy!
YES!! I FINALLY KNOW WHAT I WANT TO BE WHEN I GROW UP!! THAT FARMER!! I’m being 100% serious. This is the most satisfying thing ever
Why am i here. How did I get here. Why is this satisfying.
This was a joy to watch! They seem very well-loved,they all look so comfortable. I liked the commentary too, which i don't usually listen to! This made me want to go visit a farm for a day 😂 thank you!!
The behave so well for you, I think they are thankful. They can hear much better.
These sheep are so adorable! 😍
The expert cleaning this sheep never knew it needed ! Be she feels better ! T+YAY
From reading the comments you may want to do more like this very calming
I will do a shearing video in a similar style.
They look like they are enjoying their treatment 😊
First sheep was smiling 😁 back at you😮 thanks for sharing
Coffee, slice of cake and a sheep ear wax removal video, what more could you want to idle away a Sunday afternoon. Entertainment.
🤣
Wow, I learned something today. Who knew Baby Doll's get earwax I didn't.
Let me definitely echo the consensus here that if you upload more of these you will make BANK. The earwax/pimple popping/hoof trimming/abscess draining watchers are a loyal and eager crowd.
I love the babydoll sheep they are the cutest in my opinion
I do love your kitty in the background grooming it’s self 🤗
Just found your channel,I never knew that had to be done ,isn’t your sheep good very interesting thank you Ann uk 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🙏🙏🙏❤️
They are precious babies!
Fantastic tutorial!!!!Gentle. Very through. Informative!
I WANT MORE OF THIS! How satisfying!
I'm planning on eye cleaning and shearing...should be similarly satisfying 😉
This help me understand how to to care for my Sheep
Hello from MN my neighbor has sheep it's really nice to watch them lol great videos
Love 🥰 your videos. Please show more. I really enjoy your sharing and teaching ❤
Thank you so much! This motivates me to do more! I have ideas, but please let me know any specific topics you might want to see as well.
Wow they are going to be able to hear really well now ❤
Yes, and they know their names when called!
Sheep are such sweeties!🐑❤
Very satisfying to watch 🥰🥰
Absolutely fascinating!
This is so satisfying to watch 😊
City woman, never owned sheep, but here I am!
I bet that was such a relief for them!
This reminds me of my Poodles😂. Even funnier as we often jokingly call them “sheep” when they are fluffy.
The sheep looks major thrilled 😅
I love sheep as they're so loving.
The algorithm has spoken we must all watch the sheep video 😂
Oh. My. Gosh. That had to feel good! I will be doing my babydoll's earwax removal at least twice a year.
Loved this clip. Have watched it so many times. When will you do a new one.
Thank you. May will be the next ear one. 👍
Vous travaillez avec douceur, avec les animaux, j'apprécie beaucoup.
Didn’t know I needed this but I guess I do!
They are so cute
Oooh, I bet the sheep enjoyed that ear clean
To avoid cutting the skin, poke the tip of the scissors gently through the wool and then close the handles. The scissors won’t go through the skin if pushed gently. Any resistance and it should be assumed you have hit skin.
Forgot to say, don’t pull the wool as this ‘lifts’ the skin, making it easier to cut.
Smh🙄
They are so cool.
Ewwww...must feel so good to get that out!! Itchy!
Pleeeease post more like this! 😆
Do they have rectangle pupils?
I would love to do this job!
How much of the "ear wax" is lanolin?
Oh my gosh, now I'm watching Sheep 😂❤
Oh I bet they run around max, feeling so much better 🥰
They feel better after getting sheared too, they are much happier.
its a rabbit hole i keep going further down, now im watching this lol
I clean my cats ears but it’s nothing like this. Very interesting.
I was a Future Farmer of America my first two years of high school. We had a sheep. I shorn her once. I feel like we cleaned her ears like this, too.
So cute
That's a legit amount of ear wax
Am I the only one that is shocked that sheep have ear wax? Lol
Must feel like a spa day for the sheep. Imagine getting that big coat removed and then their ears getting cleaned out. They must love it. All they need is maybe a bath and maybe a face wash with the cucumbers, and I wouldn’t know the difference.
Well I do grow cucumbers, lol.
You should offer holidays, where people can come and clean your sheeps ears. Id be up for it 🤣🤣🤣...my huaband not so much 😁😁😁
The sheep is so sweet 😅😅😅😅
Yes, this breed is very docile.
Sheep looks like it's having the time of its life
Nice video inlove it
More of these videos please
Sounds good. I am planning on a part two video.
Sweet Clyde
Clyde is well behaved!
you need a headlamp to see inside dark ears, as well as for better camera picture - these are great - FENIX.
I would love to do this
Hello, I am not a farmer or know much about animals. How often do they get washed on full body? THANK YOU FOR CARING FOR THE ANIMALS!!!
They get haircuts once per year. You typically wouldn't wash a sheep unless showing them at a fair or for some medical reason. Their lanolin (grease) is pretty amazing stuff.
Could the wool be plucked out like groomers do with dog ears?
it looks like the hair isn't growing from within the ear canal, as is the case with dogs that have hair not fur and therefore need to have their ears plucked. looks like cutting or shaving it are the only options.
Thanks for a cool video! Well done! I know it's part of KZhead life, but all these numbskulls on here telling you how they would do your job, are rude and egocentric. Too bad you have to deal with so many of them every darn time. We'll be looking for the next one!
I'm gobsmacked. I grew up on a sheep ranch. All meat breeds so this wasn't something on our plate. Although for my fair sheep each year I definitely cleaned the inside the canal.
It is interesting. My other breeds don't have this. This breed is more high maintenance, lol.
@@ShearGoodness exactly. We had a sheep shearer because we had thousands of sheep to shear. I have no way how we could have even executed this. Its so cool learning new stuff on KZhead. Glad I found you.
love to watch
Thank you.
Such a sweet little lamb
When they have more earwax like that, does it mean maybe they had an infection at one time? Or is it just how much wool grows? Thank you for sharing your beautiful animals ❤
This breed in particular has woolly ears, along with the lanolin, that make it easy to trap all that wax. They are pretty high maintenance compared to other breeds. As long as I clean them every year, I have been able to avoid any problems. Hopefully this video brings awareness to other shepherds, who may not know this is a thing. Thanks for watching!
@@ShearGoodness you’re really good with them. I hope that people do learn a lot from your videos because I bet you they don’t know a lot of tricks like you do.
Where can you find that restraint equipment?
This is homemade. Somebody made it and I bought it from a co-worker and painted it. It is very heavy, solid steel and does not fold down. I like it, the platform is large and the neck piece adjusts to height. There are no ramps and you have to lift the animals onto it, which is quite back breaking! Sydell sells stands that are winch and/or hydraulic lifts.
I sure would do this job!
Do you not go inside the ear and clean the rest of the ear wax out? Doesn’t the dirt and stuff need to be cleaned out?
I could wipe them out if I stayed shallow, but I wouldn't recommend sticking anything into the canal, such as a q-tip. I have a specific reason that I don't use the liquid ear cleaners (such as for dogs). I think I might talk about that in my next ear wax video!
Хороший хозяин❤
I never knew sheep got ear wax great job
I loved this, But how the hell did you get them in that contraption in the first place ?
We use two people to lift them. Matt lifts their front and I lift their rear! The head is adjustable to their height so they can comfortably stand. Purchased stands are available with ramps they can walk up, but ours is homemade. (I may upgrade in the future, lol.) We have to lift it with forks, it is heavy steel.
@@ShearGoodness A very clever idea . Looking forward to your upgrade one day . Im amazed how calm the sheep are .. It must be very comfortable. Thanks for being exrra careful with them. I havent seen any other farmer bother with ear wax . ( whether its just not filmed ). Yet it looks so important to keep them healthy. They look so happy.💕 💚💚💚🕊
Improve the lighting and this is gold!
Noted. Thanks for watching.
How come the sheeps' ears are not disinfected once all the gunk is removed?
There is no infection, just ear wax and wool. I will answer some common questions on the part 2 video.
I have those tweezers!!! Now all I need is a sheep! ISSA sign!
The part of sheep shearing they never show you; cleaning woolly ears.
This cleaning is very different than the cleaning done for a dog’s ears. Groomers use wet wipes to clean out the ear.
You got enough wax out of these sheep to start a shoe-shinning business!
Yuck and Clyde was definitely posing for the camera.
2:32 To me, that look says... "Go to hell Sharon" 😂🤣😂
Haha, yeah some of them are tired of me at this point since I just sheared them prior. 😆
