  • Every single actor in this movie has given a 100% on their acting. Incredible. This movie didn't do well on boxoffice at the time of release....that's only because it was wayyyyy ahead of it's time. Honestly, not sure when was/is the right time to show this movie. What a movie🎉🎉🎉 🎥 One very well said dialogue in this movie...."Samay badal gaya hai halaat nahi"!!

  • I can't well describe the feeling after watching it. Lajja is an important movie. The challenges faced by women needed to be told. Whether they are well educated or not, belong to a rural or urban setting, the issues we see here are still prevalent. This movie is way ahead of it's time. I deeply everything in it -- the selection of actors, the plot, the social issues touched. I hope everyone who watches it understands the pain that a lot of women still go through and we see some real change. No one will know the courage shown by women like Ram Dulari kaki (I have read about women like her) who work to uplift other women. My respect, blessings and prayers always for them.

  • I'm here after watching the reels of maduri & mahima. I wasn't willing to watch since it's a movie of 3hrs. But gained the courage & finally watched it. And yes, it's a movie worth watching. This movie made me realize the pain & sufferings of women which is still there in our society. And yes, education is the way through which we can change our life & bring sunshine in the life of underprivileged 🙏

  • I did not expect jacky's u turn at the end but director did it as a good symbol. i hope director tried to show the impact of positivity through raghu's character turnover which in a way shows that to make the world a better place both male and female need to work together hand in hand. Manisha Mahima Madhuri Rekha Anil Ajay Dany all are just superb acting. cameo of Shonali and Urmina added extra flavor those two songs were big hit in those days.

  • Back in 2001 , I watched this movie when it was released..i strongly loved the concept of this movie .back then many people didn't like it ,it was just an average at box office..but today this movie had showcased the sufferings of women in our country till today in many ways ..i m glad to see comments i assume are from new generation..women are so educated these days that they make their opinion valued to fight against social standards set for them ..the best investment a father can do on her daughter is education...loved all the comments here...we need more and more women to heard to change the situation of our Indian women...Jai Hind
