Last month we had GSP, this time round we have Jon 'Bones' Jones - widely regarding as the greatest to ever step foot in the Octagon, Jon shared his knowledge with our members in a 2 hour seminar at the best mma gym in the world, Bangtao Muay Thai & MMA.
he is such a good teacher. the way he keeps his instructions simple and the pausses he makes gives everything more weight. easy to follow and to remember, no bullshit. the goat!

Teaching fits really well to Jones. I'm glad he is teaching, passing on his legacy while still in his prime. Haven't seen any other fighters do that. Also, he is a VERY strategic, intelligent fighter. It's really something seeing him break down his technique.

What they found in him literally had no difference in his fighting skill. He was doing so much coke the night before, so many fights. Still went out there and beat them up like it was nothing. As a veteran street fighter, purely defense, his technique here is highly fundamental for surviving real encounters. Never be an attacker, always be a counter attacker. Stay out of fights in the streets, and if you have to neutralize the situation and get away.

Jones is one of the goats if not the goat. Great lesson and everything, Jones has a lot of fighting knowledge. But I can’t help but think, the tactics he taught in this video (the “locking horns” hands fighting, elbowing over the top and stuff) only work for tall fighters. Reach is a huge advantage and a big part of this technique. Doesn’t seem like a shorter person can use this on a taller one. Maybe I’m wrong, if I am wrong then someone please correct me. Respectfully.
