Ive had all 3, each one is a small upgrade but noticeable. My biggest complaint about the 3 and 4 has the horrible battery life. That has absolutely been resolved on the 5, it absolutely destroys the other 2 in this regard. For me an extra1.5 hrs screen on time is absolutely worth the upgrade and the 1tb version here in Canada is hella expensive lol

The Fold 6 will be a completely new design with a wider front screen and MUCH better physical hardware technology. If you upgrade now, you will waste a load of money. Either wait until 1st sept and get the Honor Magic V2 or wait until the Fold 6.

Upgrade from 3 to 5 was surprisingly great. Love the thinner profile and reduction in weight but above all, the battery! Oh my god the battery is like night and day. I can finally use it an entire day without multiple charge breaks.
Is it safe to use inner display of z fold in long term ? Or should be there any realibilities issues ?
The minimal difference between the Fold 4 and Fold 5 is why I kept my Fold 4. I am old enough to remember it taking years for a new phone to be released. From an ecological standpoint, it is disconcerting that Samsung is releasing phones just for the sake of it. Also, the need for more innovation is annoying. Samsung should spend more time focusing on R&D instead of the safe, incremental upgrades that defy the company's history of innovation. Otherwise, what is the real difference between Samsung and Apple?

Upgraded from a Note 20 ultra -> Z fold 5. Feels magical honestly, just so foreign and new. As an artist, its so easy-to-use and draw on as well. I dont even see the crease, as it just disappears when it turns on. Perfect for productivity and amazing when it comes to pen support. I only wished it came with the pen, instead of having it cost an eye watering amount. Overall, its perfect

I've had my Z3 for 2 years. I like the device and learned to live with the narrow outer screen. I wasn't planning on upgrading for another 2 years. IMO when you are dropping the type of money on these devices you hold on to them for as long as possible. The battery was starting to run down a little faster. I never had any hardware or software issues. I dropped it hard several times and it didn't break. I went through several cases that broke because of falls. The biggest mistake that I made was removing the inner screen protector and NOT replacing it. When I dropped it a week ago I broke the inner screen. I have no doubt it was the lack of that screen that caused it to break when it fell. I was quoted $600 to replace the screen. I now have a decision to make. fix the 3 or buy a refurbished one for roughly $600, and buy the F4 for about $1000 depending on if it's new or a refurbished model. Or, bite the bullet as I did with the Note Note 9 and F3 and buy the latest and greatest device. I now have a F5. I can feel and see the better performance, and I like the bigger outer screen. The thing that was most noticeable was the weight. the 20 grams of weight makes a difference. That being said, IMO the weight of these devices is overblown. Cases vary in weight. Once a user installs a case it will make the device more bulky, and heavier. To what degree depends on the case. There is a slight difference in the cameras with a few more options on the selfie screen. I don't like how Samsung changed the text app. I used to be able to customize each individual contact with a background photo and audio alert tone. The F5 won't allow that. The software I use for work is a bit faster on the 5, and It seems like I can do more with the muti-windows feature on the inner screen. The hinge seems more solid. The fact that it folds completely flat is a nice aesthetic that took me a while to look past with the 3. I haven't experienced using the 5 in direct sunlight, but that was definitely an issue on the 3. That alone would be worth considering an upgrade. I have been using the 2 devices side by side as I complete the setup on my 5. Since both devices have 512GB of memory I don't see a difference in storage. I would have been happy holding on to the 3 for another year or two.

Watching on my new blue Z Fold 5. Upgrade from S22 Ultra. Also had the Z Fold 3 before. It's a MASSIVE upgrade. Just the screen and cameras are the start of the upgrade experience.
Upgraded from s21 ultra to fold 5. Waited a few months to see if any major flaws come up, but really wanted a fresh take on the whole smartphone ideea so i went and pulled the trigger, rather nervously. About a week into my purchase now and so far very pleased. Really like the cover screen form factor as i had wanted to move to smaller devices as the ultras are really bot pocketable. Feels great so far and the battery seems better than my 2 year old 21 ultra. Great video, cheers!
When I first got the 4, I was amazed. It was my favorite Samsung phone that I've besides my Note 4 Edge. The 5 has replaced it as my favorite Samsung device so far.

I don't know. I have the Fold 3 and have the money to spare to get the Fold 5 after trade in but I don't think I can justify paying $1,200 for a better hinge, brighter display, and better cameras. Gonna wait and see what the Fold 6 brings. Whatever it is, I will definitely upgrade by then. 😁

I've had all 3 folds and just like going from 3 to 4 going from 4 to 5 , if you litraly can't see past the end of your nose then no your not gonna appreciate the refinements made from model to model but if you can start to get your head round the fact that Sammy are extremely happy with where there at with the foldable lines and that they are concentrating on what's going on under the hood you might just have the capacity to appreciate with what your dealing with , however if you can't and you just want the next new shiny thing that looks completely different then you likely never will.
Z fold 3 user here who just got the dreaded no audio on main screen issue outside of warranty. After checking a bunch of videos, yours was the first quality in depth comparison. Decided to get a fold 5 as I can't go back to a standard phone. Thanks for the video!!
Went from the Fold 3 to the Fold 5.. I was trying wait for the fold 6 before upgrading.... I was very undecided on keeping the fold 5 because I didn't think there was much of a difference. Watching your video help me decided to keep the fold 5 with the side by side comparison.

Fold 3 aspect ratio is the best you get a bigger display to watch shows and do different thing When I turn my z fold 3 side ways I get a lot more image I don't like the boxy screen of the fold 5
Great review. Had all 3 and I agree, the hinge is way more refined. Battery life and performance are also slightly improved. The deals with Samsung right now made the upgrade worthwhile.
Huge difference from 4 To 5, battery better, lighter, speakers louder, embedded pen in case, cooler, and it feels so much smoother, ⭐⭐⭐ also love the software experience 🔥
I went from the 3 to the 4 to the 5. The 4-5 upgrade was worth it to me. Battery life is not only improved enough to be noticable, but also more consistent. As for smoother experience, the 5 is slightly improved if I'm comparing them directly side by side, but nothing I notice in daily use. The hinge on my 4 had gotten pretty crunchy, so the buttery smooth action of the 5 is much more confidence inspiring (only time will tell if it stays that way). The screen brightness is nice to have, but again not something I notice as I don't tend to be on my phone much in direct sunlight. I'd agree with most reviews that the 5 isn't really worth upgrading to if you're happy with the 4, but if you appreciate minor refinements and don't mind paying for them it is more an upgrade than it sounds on paper.
Totally disagree, a major improvement just an overall better phone. The f0ld 4 feels like an archaic device now...

I have question for you , when you open them all , are they fully opened to 180? Or up to 176-178? Especially fold3 and 4 after months of use. Apart from the crunchy noise that i know fold 3 and 4 has.

As far as the video I bought the Fold 1 day one and I skipped the Fold 2 and got a Fold 3 however I don't feel that the Fold 5 brought enough change for me to make that jump just yet. Anyone who has a z fold 3 and haven't tried the 4 or 5 than don't be stressed out. If you are a heavy user it won't last until the end of the day no matter which fold you got. Camera performance also just a tiny bit better. I couldn't use the fold 2 as my main device too many compromises , however I do own the fold 3 for nearly 2 years also had fold 4 for couple of month but I went back to the 3. I'm just trying out the 5 but I will stick with the 3. It is a little bit nicer but not a 1000 bucks nicer that is for sure.
I was just at the store yesterday comparing my 3 to the 5, personally I like not being tied to financing the devices but the main difference I noticed is the screen colors look more natural and the camera is smoother clearer and more natural colored as well. But I decided it wasn't worth the upgrade just yet.
Fold 3 to Fold 5, feels quite incremental. I spent a few weeks with the Pixel Fold, and that's the hardware I want and miss. Samsung just has done way better with software refinements. (I can't have a phone without freeform Windows anymore, for example, particularly in notifications).

I upgraded from the fold 4 to the fold 5 and I'm absolutely happy that I did. The fold 5 is lighter and the battery life is much better than its predecessor. I can't wait to see what the future folds bring to the table.

I upgraded recently from z fold 4 to z fold 5 after watching this video abd reading comments here. Experince is very goof after upgrade ...better sound, better battery life, better hinge, lighter weight and feels more premium and comfortable on hand....i could see noticeable difference inbsome apps like maps, camera apps due to software tweaks. Another big improvement is lighter aand better stylus almost similar to s22 or s23 ultras and very nice looking dual color samsung cases whichbare fwr betterbthan z fold4 cases any day. So overall its a worthy upgrade from z fold 4 to fold 5 if you have the budget ..if you dont have budget you can still use fold4 for a year more....but if you are a z fold 3 user and planning to use foldable phone only in future also, then pls upgrade to fold 5 as quickly as possible since ur missing out a great experince fold 5 gives and is a big jump from fold 3

@CJKnowsTECH, the TRUTH yes Sir. Great vid. I will say I have been testing my Fold 3 to my Fold 5 never went to the 4 because it felt like a S improvement. The only thing I truly hated about my 3 is the camera other than that the Snapdragon 888 worked just fine for me and was a beast in my multi tasking with my gamer PC. But everyone has their opinion and that is fine but I will say the improvement to me has been that Snapdragon Gen 2 and battery. The camera has been a better experience on the 5 but still falls short to my S23. See you on the next one. Peace
Had a 3 waiting on my 5. I loved the idea of the foldable but went thru 3 fold 3s due to screen separation in the middle. I'm hoping the 5 fairs better.

I "accidentally" upgraded to the Fold 5 after my Fold 4 randomly died and I got the Fold 5 as my replacement device through Samsung Care Plus. It was a pleasant surprise to say the least, but my time with the Fold 5 has only reinforced my original stance that I made the right choice not to upgrade when the Fold 5 released. The only real difference in my user experience is the improved battery life from the efficiency gain of the 8 Gen 2 in the Fold 5, which in my opinion is definitely not worth the $680 USD I would've had to pay if I traded in my Fold 4. Other than that it's basically the exact same experience that I loved in my Fold 4. (RIP Fold 4 🙏)

I've had the 3, 4, and 5. The weight and hinge are for sure difference makers between the 2. I also find that when using the phone in candybar mode, it's much more user-friendly. Thus, I find myself using it much more for daily use.

Well, I told you a while back that my Fold 2 was stolen, so I when over to the Dark Side to Apple. I have the iPhone 14 Pro Max and honestly, off rip, I missed my Fold. So I will be buying a Fold 5 to go with my iPhone. I didn’t want the Fold 3, cause in my opinion it wasn’t that Big of an upgrade to get over my Fold 2 and I felt the same about the Fold 4 before my Fold was stolen. Yet Samsung has improved on the Hinge and I personally never had a problem with the Front Screen or the Cameras. I did on the other hand hoped that Samsung would improved both the Front Screen and Cameras in order to gain more Users. It look like Samsung did just that though with both the Fold 4&5 though. So I know that I miss my Fold though, I honestly was struggling to use my iPhone when I got it, cause I was so used to having a Fold. Since I had the Original Fold and the Fold 2 in a almost 4 Year Time Frame. Going back to a Slab Phone seems like such an Downgrade and boring experience. I would say for a Good Week, I was in Love with Apple iMessage Mini Games, it got old quick though. My experiences were so much better on my Folds. If anything, I’ll keep an iPhone and a Fold. Don’t let Apple create an Fold like Rumor Say, I’ll have both an Apple and Samsung Fold. For those who are reading this besides my Brother Ce’Jay. I viewed the other Foldable, all though Vivo, Mate X2, Pixel Fold and Honor may have a better Wider Front Screen and some would say Cameras. I already stated that I was fine with both on the Samsung Folds. Samsung has better an in my Opinion more reliable Software and UI that I Love and miss, that none of the other Folds have. A Wider Front Screen isn’t enough to make me choose one of the others. Then you have S Pen Support on the Fold 3-5, which now that Samsung somewhat Mastered their Hinge. They can now focus on Housing the S Pen, which may make the Fold a little Wider. On Time Will Tell, yet I know I’m getting a Fold 5.

Broke my fold 3, Asurion upgraded me to the 5. It seems alright so far. I'm definitely going to take a while to get used to the lighter weight. The one complaint I have is that they changed the fingerprint scanner, it used to be inset, now it sticks out which I don't like

@hsienfromspace i can't say z fold 4 is better due to processing 8 gen 2 is slightly better than 8 + gen 1.. if u have the money 🤣 security/android will have 5 years update from samsung.. as for fold 4 left 4 years.. Like i said, b4, i need cheaper prices & the motion sensor on the power button due to im only 4 feet. LOL, i have short fingers.. that notification is really helpful if i need to pull it down "using one hand mood" This is also helpful if u watch Netflix or youtube full screen mood - no need to close, whatever u watching to look at the time/reply notification short msg. It seems that fold 5 has better brightness (i dont need that). For some ppl, it is important The screen fully folds flat "wich is not that rally important " no one else looking at my phone accept me my wife and my 3 daughter More choice casing is available at this time around ( fold 5 will be the same after a year ) Im sorry, i dont understand ur question ( fold 5 can't get it with OS update, etc? ) If the answer is android 14, u looking for .. fold 4 will have it by the end of October or b4 January 2024. U have to know that the build fingger scan on the power button on fold 5 and fold 4 is different.. this is hardware and not software.. there are no way software can fix that.. and this is an answer from samsung.. the new technology on fold 5, that's why fingger scanning at the power button on fold 5 is faster & snappier.. ( Sorry for not understanding your question earlier) 🙏 Setting fingger print on fold 4 & fold 5 is also different.. as for fold 5, u need to unfold the phone to register new fingers or else no need on fold 4 and previous models.. hope this answer your question

Well my zfold 3 inside screen broke in less than a year I got another one and now the screen protector is starting to get bad so I switched to Samsung galaxy s23 ultra and honestly I'm mad cuz I love the zfold3
Need an opinion. I have a ZF3 from Amazon refurbished paid $600 it stopped working when not plugged in. u break I fix says $500 to fix with 1 yr warranty. Currently running S23 Ultra. I can upgrade to Z5 for $75 a month the S 23 is currently $50 a month. Here is my debate. The ZF3 is sitting in a drawer waiting
Note 10+ -> Z Fold 5 makes me a happy chappy. Loving the bright screen, makes for using outside when cooking on the bbq, getting some pics, or the music rocking, so easy. Cheers from the land down under

you can remove the built in screen protector. should you? maybe not, but I did it on my z fold 3 two years ago and had absolutely no issues.

I'm still using a 3 and the already not so great battery life from the start is noticeably slipping even further into the trash. At this point there's about 6 months or so until the drop of the Fold 6, though, so I'm trying to hold out for that hopefully much improved beast.
I've owned all 3. I bought the 5 and decided to give it to my wife because she was so excited about it for whatever reason. I took her 3. I have noticed ZERO difference in practice.. so yeah, I'm sorry CJ, but you're just wrong on this one. The practical differences from teh 3 thru 5 has been very, very negligable.
Just picked up a z 3 figured id try it first and see if i love it, buying it cheaper
Switched from S23U to Z Fold 4.....and I truly shocked how good this device! Absolute in love wit it! Never get back to a regular phone again!❤❤❤
What about the speaker and ring tone volume?
Get this.. i was gonna get a tablet just for occasional note taking and occasional exel use BUT the tablet are to big just for using those features. I was thinking of getting a fold 3 and an s-pen and BAM! Got me a small note book for notes and some minimal exel use
Z fold 5 is Def worth it even from the 4 if you get the 1k trade in from samsung you get about 1100 towards the 5
I upgraded from the 4 to the 5 and only paid 574 out my pocket

I only paid 545 tax and all with a fold 4 trade in.
If you're buying one now, here's your guide. 1. Have the 3? Is the 5 a big enough upgrade to justify the price? Yes it is. 2. Don't have one? Buy the 4, as the saving-to-upgrade ratio just isn't there to justify getting the 5 at the current prices.

I switched from the 3 to the 5 when it came out. I love the 5. Camera improvement was worth the switch, still wish they would give us their best cameras though.
I'm waiting for the six or even seven to upgrade from my three, hopefully it will be a worthwhile leap.
Have you or will you check out the Honor Magic V2, Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 and Oneplus Open Fold? I held onto my Fold 4 and was thinking about one of the above due to the small upgrades Samsung is making each year but charging the same amount. What's your thoughts and will you be reviewing any of the above?
Software is awful on those phones, Samsung has it all efficient and cohesive from battery to software to screen brightness to screen size to louder speakers Samsung has done an amazing job and don't forget the embedded pin in the new case but you can't even feel it in your pocket
Fold 4 had a small 3 foot drop, and the internal screen would not work. I suspect the fold 3 is more reliable? given how many are still going strong, even after dropping them. There are so many reports of fold 4 going wrong.£232 for a used fold 3 vs £1700 for a F5
with the max brightness, is it 1200 nits or 1000nits? Different people saying different things.

I think 1200 is what samsung says but tests say around 1000

Had 3, held to 4 but after today.. $1200 trade in 4 to 5..had to do even if it's for better trade in next year

Sent my z fold 3 in for a refurb replacement and got the 5 back instead, pleasant surprise lol.
