Approaching Ganondorf was so menacing the way it got grand each time you got closer. A true masterpiece. Definitely one-ups calamity Ganon
Man don't compare this to calamid ganon
"One"-ups? More like a "Thousand"-ups. Calamity is just plain uninteresting.
The way you descend and the music becomes so grand, it was like how you ascend Ganon's tower and the music is louder. But this was way more epic tbh
The way they did the music when approaching Ganondorf as it gets more intense is what they should had done with Hyrule Castle
@@edgarcastaneda9280 Calamid... damn. Remember the time when BotW came out and we thought this was the grand fight and it actually felt like it (we ignore Beast Ganon honestly). Now with TotK, BotW was just a demo of what could be and we got this epic finale.
The last hour of me playing TOTK was honestly the best i've experienced playing a game. First game that made me cry and I didn't think it was possible. Hearing Zelda's lullaby in the ending after one of the most emotional storylines to a Zelda fan, especially the last catch tying back to how you couldn't catch her in the beginning but now you change that was hella cool and gut wrenching!!!!. This whole game was awesome. loved every second of it!!!!!
Bro you said everything I was gonna say. This game is a complete masterpiece. Thank you so much Nintendo for giving us this masterpiece.🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤
I agree with you whole heartily. The whole thing was my childhood wrapped into one beautiful present. It made me cry. Made me laugh and made me smile and that all happened in one moment which nvr happens.
*Cries in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon*
The darker version of the dragon transformation theme doesn't get nearly enough love as it deserves. It still sounds like a sad, wondrous thing, which is impressive. Ganondorf is gone at that point. And he's going to die in a sick-ass nuclear explosion
youre so correct, its like this majestic melody of a mortal becoming a god but at the same time way more sinister then zelda becoming a dragon which was sad
*orbital strike by the Golden Goddesses themselves
Its sound sad and wicked like ganondorf is committing some type of sacrilege
@@pixelpunchyt fr when i saw him explode i was laughing so hard, i think korok forest has been obliterated though
If anyone's wondering, the explosion styles are actually modeled after irl nukes. In the first game, calamity Ganon dies via an explosion from zelda, and the visual appearance and progression of the explosion is reminiscent of the first hydrogen bomb explosives (post ww2 of course). The explosion of the demon dragon is the last (and hopefully will continue to be such) nuclear explosive tested above ground, the tsar Bomba. I really hope the hyrule nuclear weapons program doesn't keep getting funded.
I love how the Demon Dragon theme doesn't even sound evil anymore. It's not Ganondorf anymore; he would've lost himself the moment he swallowed that stone. At that point, it was probably just like the other dragons and didn't really even understand what was happening anymore. It wasn't even attacking Link in the last fight, at least not actively. Just being near it was what hurt Link. At that point Ganondorf was already dead and Link and the light dragon were just tying up a loose end. It's kind of sad.
I think it’s really cool how we got to see Zelda’s memory and how absolutely painful it looked during dragonification. But Ganon… he was cackling like a madman. Love it.
The way I understood draconification is you effectively dedicate your new dragon self to the one idea, task or goal you gave yourself. The three goddesses dedicated themselves to the creation of Hyrule as a land, and watch over and maintain it, albeit distant and no longer actively participating. Zelda's dragon was solely focused on Link, having put all her hopes in him. Thus every thing the light dragon does revolves around helping Link defeat Ganondorf: nurturing the Master Sword, leaving the tears behind like bread crumbs to lead him to the sword, and ultimately aiding him in the final battle. To that same end, Ganondorf straight up says what his desire is: destroy Link, and drown the world in eternal darkness. That thing would have effectively become a menace that defied all previous threats had they not put it down.
The music during the demon dragon fight is a throwback to the Dark Beast Ganon fight in Botw - it was also an epic arrangement of the game's main theme!
@@Terralventhe Wow, I never thought of this, and your points match up perfectly to what we see in game!
Why the people empathize w Ganondorf in all this time? I mean, first with the “oh meeeen Ganondorf will be the ancestral hero from the murals” and next this? I don’t truly understand it
lemme tell you, the "last catch" sequence had me *screaming* "GRAB HERR FUCKING GOOOO GRAB HERRR" at my tv
Last Catch reportedly has everyone in tears screaming at their TVs, legit the most emotional moment of the entire 20-game franchise in a nutshell.
Can confirm, the only reason I wasn't swearing while I did it was because my family was in ear shot.
On the final catch, I purposefully failed to hold her hand twice to make the scene seem more intense, it’s too good
First time playing that Zelda went through the clouds and I lost sight of her. I literally screamed “NO!!! COME ON!!!!” I wasn’t gonna lose her again
What happens if you don't catch her, nor deliver the final blow to Dragondorf?
11:21 is just an insanely memorable moment for me. Being outnumbered and saying “oh fuck”, to then see that tulin joins and everyone slowly joining with this point in the music was just insane.
ok
Yeah this may be my favorite music moment in any Zelda game. As your friends come to your aid, successfully beating the scourges they once faced with you. All the while, the music holds so many motifs, most notably botw, Zelda’s lullaby, and the original LOZ theme. Not only saying “this is the boss fight” but also expressing “everything that you and Zelda have sacrificed in this story is all coming to fruition.”
@@________John__________ ok dude just shut up
@@________John__________ Also how the music reflects that this is the moment solidifying Link doesn't have to fight alone. BOTW was all about how Link was on his own and had no one looking out for him. TOTK is about Link learning the rely on others and work together to defeat Ganondorf.
42:02 a little motif of Sheik's theme from Ocarina of Time is there! I didn't catch it when I cleared the game, one of the many AMAZING but obscure references in TotK.
Wow, that's incredible, thank you for pointing that out!
@@ComputerRaid Not the first one discovering it but almost no one is talking about it! It really is fantastic.
The best Cinematic experiences in this game were the build up to things. Falling down to the end of the cave was crazy
My head canon is that Dinraal, Farosh, and Naydra are guardians who swallowed the pieces of the Triforce and underwent their own draconification.
Oh SHIT that's a cool idea
How does one swallow a giant triangle? I think they did the same thing everyone else did, and there were 10 stones at one point.
@@sundowner414how do you eat a Dorito?
@@alfredo.zauce1892 but Doritos aren’t solid gold, 4 inches thick, and 2 feet tall

25:54 that new rendition of Zelda's Lullaby is lovely
Sounds like something that would be in kingdom hearts
This whole track though. When I reached this part of the game I really felt things
@@prestonrcasey same
it sounds like the music of paradise, the blessing of Rauru and Sonia
It’s definitely my new favorite rendition of her theme
I love the increase of intensity as you damage Ganondorf in phase 1, the cow bell is a fine addition
The cow bell genuinely sounds like a threat of what's coming. Like power you haven't seen yet brimming below the surface.
favourite part of it all is honestly 15:40. so eery and spooky. i remember getting to that point like "oh shit wait this is new- WAIT HE ATE LINK??"
"Do not look away. For you witness a kings...SUAVAMENTE" 😅😅😅
Nobody talks about the Calamity Ganon remix at 13:11
Was looking for this comment! :D
@@stubbornmarblesthis was the most exciting part for me because I love this soundtrack so much
10:44 seeing the Demon King reborn…..and the horror on everyone’s face and in their hearts as the health bar kept going……….
20:28 Chills. Literally every time i listen to the song
this was the moment I started to cry like a baby and had to pause and lie down on the ground because I couldnt breathe anymore 😅
I love the contrast from the previous phase with the erhu playing the main theme to become epic and hopeful with the violins playing the main theme and the brass section playing the zelda's lullaby, with the blood moon in the background. PS. I loved that the master sword took on a much greater relevance in this final battle than in botw.
literally the most memorable ending in video game history to me, fucking beautiful in every way
I can't wait for the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra to cover TOTK's OST. They played BOTW's and the rest of the series OST flawlessly than any other orchestra back in 2018. To hear this live would just be too much on the soul!
18:08, man, when the brass hits your ears, oh man, the chills
epic battle for the end of an epic game
29:47 when the Fi sounds appear my heart just... AHHH i miss her so much
6:25-7:03 Absolutely adore this bit. The organ bringing classic evil Ganondorf. The violin showing that behind all the malace, gloom and evil; he is just an honourable swordsman who strongly believes in his cause (akin to Link). And the vocals and horns show the sheer magnitude of the fight.
tbh I wouldn't call honorable anybody who kills somebody via a punch from behind
Honorable? Idk about that, he did try to deceive Sonia, and then when that didn't work he sucker punched her/stabbed her from behind.
truly a soundtrack to live up to Twilight Princesses
45:40 is some of the most beautiful music I've heard
Oh gosh, you're right.
bro 10:44 is so nostalgic its incredible
When I heard this I knew. But I'm glad they didn't do the energy ball tennis this time lmao
@@prestonrcaseytechnically there still is, you can send his gloom attacks back at him. And there’s flurry rush tennis
@@alcides2494his flurry rush always felt impossible to dodge tbh so i just stuck with reflecting the gloom attacks
@@alcides2494fun fact, the tennis only works with the master sword, if you attempt to deflect those attacks with any other weapon, it instantly breaks
i love every part of the finale, including the music. final fall, demon dragon, ending cutscene. this games soundtrack is so good
11:27 - 11:39 YOU CAN HEAR LINK'S THEME (BotW) HOLY SHIT
I never noticed that until now!!
The ending to this game made me cry. Don't get me wrong, it was beautiful, but that's not the main reason. It's because I'll never be able to experience this masterpiece of a game for the first time again.
Not me stalling the fight just to listen to the music 👀
Not me in tears because it was so hecking good. And wishing I'd made the fight longer.
probably one of the most memorable final bosses in any zelda game i have played (and i have played a lot-been playing since i was 4!) the whole section leading up to the battle was terrifying to the point where i had to put the game down for a moment bc i was shaking😭😭 the final battle itself was extremely nerve wracking, genuinely difficult too. i loved every second of it and i wanna try it again, just a bit more prepared, bc i feel like my first time i was painfully underprepared!
The transition loop at 12:45 is SO well resolved by the blight remix
22:39 this gave me chills. For me it's the same feeling like in LOTR when the One Ring is destroyed and Sauron vanished 😢❤
I've never cried while making a bagel before but I was listening to this and... there's a first time for everything, i guess lol
The tracks for the endgame never fail to make me tear up
The soundtrack could be arranged to like an entire symphony.
10:43 Love how the sound effect is included.
I think the reason why skyward sword was to show since the beginnings that Link, Zelda, and (Demise) Ganondorf have fought so much throughout time regardless of what happened to them they could still have memories to protect and destroy.
more like instinct than memories maybe
Well, that was quicker than expected! I hope you liked the video, and check out the entire playlist with the music from Tears of the Kingdom: kzhead.info/channel/PLLnEF-LrsjNRH7p9bOlcsGAZTZsvWS4BD.html
Thanks for putting this together ❤️
Wow, you actually did it, this is really good!!
The demon king army did now have to go so hard for a couple of bokos moulins and lizalfos
10:44 OOT Ganondorf fight!
Me dieron ganas de volver a jugar esa batalla
tysm its so hard to find cutscene music online and especially during the transformations which are some of my favorite parts
Thanks for making this medley (it's more of a medley than a mashup). I just finished the game the other night felt the music elevated it to untold heights, and was really the best part of the end game.
Absolutely the best ending to a game ever, the intensity the music and the gameplay blend so well together!
30:31 Man the music here
that whole cutscene has some of the most beautiful music ive ever heard
i wish this game had included a soundtrack like skyward sword did on wii. like honestly i woulda paid extra
27:03 I like how this part remids me a lot of the epicness of Minis Cap soundtrack, simoly awesome
I love how at 22:28 its like the demon dragon *refuses* to die, and is there for longer than you would expect after defeating a boss
then he fucking nukes hyrule
@@weinereater-wm6qm Specifically the Deku Tree if you look closely at the surroundings. Guess Link will have to find a new home for his sword and new ways to expand his inventory.
Screaming, sobbing, crying, throwing up.
This really set the new standard for final boss hype.
The most epic moment in gaming history
This game def saved a lot of its best music for the last encounter & credits
23:19 les frissons
tellement mais l'intégralité de la musique donne des frissons
Ganondorf phase 1 was my favourite part of the music 🔥
I went to hateno to get the cece hat and discovered how to get the new shirt. Ended up going into the final boss area way too early and I immediately backed out
10:43 sound effect sounds satisfieng
38:48 tho.
Yeah i would definitely love an extended version of 39:10-39:20
Zonai beatboxing
I’d like nothing more to smash the demon king 🗿
One complainant I had about Ganondorf fight music is that they didn’t add the saxophone part of the final trailer into it like how cool would it have been that in phase 3, you hear the saxophone and when it’s the end of the saxophone part, you hear Ganondorf’s theme
There is a saxaphon
No like from the final trailer music
22:57 Why is this amazing piece of music not officially released??
This sequence feels like Saurons death because the One Ring gets deatroyed if Lord of the Rings would be an Anime Adaption 😊
16:05 best cutscene
I spammed the pause button on my headphones and THE FIRST THING I HEAR IS THE GANONDORF APPROACH THING WTF LIKE WHAT I WAS ON A DIFFERENT VIDEO
45:38 Dark Crystal vibes
does someone know what theme plays at 34:45 ? It has been stuck in my head for days now and I can't remember where else I heard it in the game
I think it's Yunobos theme
It is yunobos theme
Isn't there a version of The Sage's Rematch that doesn’t loop and instead plays the full BOTW motif?
12:20 They brought back the BotW trailer music?!
I’m pretty sure it’s the Blights fight music isn’t it?
@@lpycb42 No, 13:10 is Calamity Ganon's theme AKA the Blights battle theme. I was referring to a section I thought was from the BotW Switch Presentation trailer but I now realize was in February 2023 trailer.
How do I find the single version of after Link carries Zelda out of the water? When I try to look it up all that comes up is the final fall, which I’m not looking for. Can anyone help?
Why does 26:52 make you want to cry? It's not even a sad moment.
How did this mf still have 3 phases and still get decimated by a singular sword 😭
Hate how hard the song at 4:03 is to find.
Is the soundtrack officially out ?
No, I just ripped the music from the game's files
@@nintendomusicplus7858 oh okay, welll thanks for uploading that then!
@@nintendomusicplus7858 they will publish it though right? How long does it usually take
@@JakeYolksorry to say but Nintendo practically never officially release soundtracks for games, and if people upload their soundtracks they just get it taken down
@@HumanWaterBottle haven’t they released soundtracks on vinyl before? I can recall super mario galaxy and wii sports and possibly even breath of the wild
Ngl I'm kinda sad I already am 50% done with totk. It just came out a little over 2 months ago and I'm half way done
in my opinion, the Track for Ganondorf 2 and Ganondorf 3 should have been swapped - this would have made a way better transition to the end
Defeating first phase was ez
you forgot to remove the sound effects in the transformation theme
The sounds are baked into the sound files, and I am not good at sound editing to remove them
Honestly, its better to leave them here
Bro you get paid to post this shit, you better have the ability lmao
is this just the credits
No: it's the music from when you're heading down for the final battle against Ganondorf from start, to all the battle phases, and the last battle.
is it just me or is there a lot of crackling in the audio?? it hurts my ears listening with my headphones :(
probably your headphones because I don't have this problem.
Hey Zelda players, if you felt that the music and challenge of this game's ending was amazing, just want to let you know that you've just experienced a From Software game moment. So glad that this ending is perfectly balanced in literally every area. 10/10.
From Software game moment?
@@ComradeKoopa challenging boss fight that requires strategy and good lore-relating music
@@Medicalguy I have to disagree, the fight against Ganondorf was so easy that it felt anticlimactic in contrast to his build up. I'm not even a great player, I went in with 12 hearts. Haven't had any troubles. He should have dealt more damage and I think more grand moves and phases would have benefited him. The last part of the finale was sick though.
@@LiltDaGod I think the master sword simply does too much damage to him. I get that's the point of it but it's a pretty easy fight with flurry rushes and the master sword killing him in, like, 15 hits for each phase. He should regenerate health if he damages you or something to make the battle more drawn out. Or they can use the mechanic in the 3rd phase for every phase, where instead of gloom damage you actually lose a heart.
@@conr6071its actually there since phase 2
the begining is great but the ending with the dragon is just a complete mess of sounds and its so unpleasent to listen to i have no clue why people like it so much let alone act like its the best ending of all of zelda
