  • I can not believe that clients consider they have hunted a buffalo when the PH (American PH) shoots all his clients buffalo. Then tells client what a great shot. I would not go hunting with him. That ain't hunting.

That was several decades ago when one had the freedom and privilege to hunt alone. That Africa has largely, or even entirely, gone.

    • Agreed. Number 5: the client hit the off foreleg, and then the PH put in that 3rd shot into the neck vertebrae which dropped the buff in full flight. Btw I don't consider Mark S safe enough PH to guide novice clients - his methods being too "gung-ho". He's the PH who has faced more charges than any other - either he's naturally unlucky, or, (more likely) doing something wrong!! In comparison, my PH (with 40yrs of DG experience) has only ever had 3 risky situations in total.

      @tim7052@tim70522 жыл бұрын
    • @@tim7052 He’s neither one. If you watch him enough he purposely puts himself into the situations to force a charge. And then shoots all his clients buffs for them. Or hippo. Or whatever. It’s just senseless. And dangerous. And stupid. And dangerous.

    • @@AfricanSafariFilms I've seen clips of Mark S goading DG to charge - very unprofessional IMHO - especially when with novice hunter clients! Frankly, he's too risky a PH, as buff can absorb a lot of lead (the late PH Ian Gibson being gored after a buff had taken 22 heavy calibre rounds!!). • I used to be a hunter. I appreciate hunting videos in which the hunter waits, lures or looks for his prey, walking stealthily and shooting at close range. Approaching is the "chance" given to the animal to sense the human and run away. This would be a hunt where the best would win. As we have seen, with the guidance of professionals, shooting with a scope and at a great distance, just proves that the hunter did not deserve this hunt. This modality is anything but sports.
