As some one who has 1500+ hours in the game it was fun to watch someone live through those early errors and the excitement when you overcome them.
Right I could see myself in This man’s attempts to survive.
Only 1500? I have 2000 There is something wrong with me
im far less then you but have fun regardless i just need some plans
@@lechking941 Splitsie is a great resource who has lots tutorial videos and uploads a lot of ships to steam workshop.
Same
Is it just me, or is this game WAY more enjoyable to watch when the person playing isn't making everything they do into some ultra-optimized mess. This was definitely a fun watch! And yeah, that other guy that said this needs a "Part 2" is right
This needs a part 2 this was so fun to watch I feel he can't just end it there
100% agree, @Doctermemz!
part 2 when?
Just thruf
Yes part 2
I agree
For drilling without collecting: You used the automatic on/off switch, which can only drill in drill mode 1 (collecting resources). In order to gain access to drill mode 2; drag the drill icon from 'Block Tools' onto your hotbar. Instead of acting like a switch, it will now act like your hand drill, using left click for drill mode 1 and right click for drill mode 2.
Thank you 🙏
and the fun part is ... when u hold left or right mouse button and than open the console with K - Leave the mouse button - it should keep on running ;-)@@SurvivalBobGaming
Part 2, this was amazing. Refreshing video to the Space Engineers community
Thanks!
Welcome to the engineers club! This is one of the few games that you can sink 1000's of hours into and still have new things to learn. I'm a few hours away from 5500, and still find it immensely enjoyable. Definitely need a part 2 to this video.
Thanks! Stay tuned. Should be out soon!
If you have an Ai move block, turn it on and have it set to "planet align gravity" + a few gyros(depending how big your ship/rover is) it will correct your orientation if your flipped over like at 20:40
Wow! I’ve gotta check that out!
Way more patience and a lot less incompetency than I, Bob 😆.. Loved it.
As someone with 5000 hours, I can confidently say that no one knows how to become a real engineer. They will choose you. Be kind, be honest, be courteous, don't be afraid to experiment, run fast. Clang will have his all-seeing eye on you. When the time comes, and the stars align correctly, the world hears your name, he will grant you ascension.
I really liked the diary style video. That gave a new life to the game - and showcased why Bob is a Bob!
Glad you liked it!
Make Captains Logs and stuff its always a fun thing to do in your free time as you can make your story to the stars and stuff
That pirate drone camping at you outside was hilarious, the way it's cute, hahahhaa
200 DAYS LETS GOO Seriously tho I laughed so much at this video. Was awesome and I watched the whole way through. If you did 200 days I'd click instantly
Thank you! I’m thinking about it.
I've got over 1500 hours in SE and every one of us started like this! I'd watch your series for sure, it looks fun, engaging and I like your play style. Looking forward to your new VODs!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
i got 200hours in this game and ive struggled alot to understand it. Afther this video and the moon start one, i gave it a shot, and holy smokes im gaving a blast, i downloaded the mods you use, and that made the experience so mutch more fun. you my friend earned my sub. Cheers mate and keep up the great work!
Thanks! Glad you’re enjoying the game!
I have played space engineers for so long that most of the stuff you struggle with is just natural to me. accept for not crashing your miner that's just a thing you always have to deal with.
You have begun the journey of space engineers. You are now obligated to provide us with more space engineers content. As an engineering veteran, I permit you to pass as a space engineer, but you have much to learn. I normally teach new players everything needed to know, but because of your popularity that might never happen. Up to you, honestly. But I look forward to seeing more content like this in the future. Praise Lord Clang, may your grids be stable and your shaking few.
Thanks! I like to bumble though it usually. Makes for good content and the pain makes me remember why I should or shouldn’t do something.
as another 4000+ hour vet I agree. remember to make your prayer to Lord Clang before entering anything as it make explode and orbit the moon xD
Let's GOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Wow your in space engineers community your from no mans sky thank for the guides I did a funny and went through like 25 galaxy's over a loving ship cause I was told galaxy affects color even tho i learned it changes anyway based on galaxy was a joy ride lol
Xaine what are you doing here?
Very entertaining, love the way you narrated the vid. And as someone with almost 3k hours on SE, I felt every step, every happy little mistake and every shenanigan you went through.😂
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
The fact that you can make your own vehicles is already everything i needed to know.
Yeah! That’s the main reason I got the game long ago too. You can make everything you want and creative mode is a good way to do that. But survival of course too d:
please do more of these video's Bob, I found it very entertaining to watch. I only started playing a few months ago abd it is encouraging to see others progress through the game, with the great story line you had with it.
Thanks! I did a follow up to this one and am working on a third.
nice i will look for them hope you get plenty veiws@@SurvivalBobGaming
Awesome, loved it! I heard so many good things about Space Engineer but this is so far the only showcase that actually convinced me think about buying it. - I will when I have time to actually dig into it. It looks like something that eats through your whole day when you first start it haha.
Thanks! It definitely does. I hope you get a chance soon!
Oh, yeah. It definitely eats away at your time. At first you'll learn the mechanics of the game and fumbling about like Bob did. But, it gets super rewarding once the more you learn and improve. :)
I couldnt believe my eyes when i saw that video! Thank you for giving this awesome game attention, i really like your commentary and was able to follow along and feel with your ship crashes d: Would love to see more.
Thank you! I’d love to do more. Let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions for me.
@@SurvivalBobGaming The idea with the asteroid refuel Station is good, you could try that (never forget to pressurise rooms in space with air vents and always keep your eyes out for leaks.) You could also make a stationary Space station between earth and moon to act as a dock for your ships and maybe even make a ship and repair yard with welders ;)
Your adventure was awesome and hope to see more. It reminded me of my first time playing Space Engineers, I suck at the game too but this was fun to watch. Thank you for the show.
I had a lot of fun watching this, as it brought back many many memories of starting SE. I hope you'll continue onward along the journey :) For mining ships you build, you might consider using sorters and ejectors to pull stone out of your onboard cargo and push it out of the ship. It's nice for efficiency.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! I’ll definitely look at the sorters!
I enjoyed it. I don't even know how long I've had the game at this point its been so long. Watching someone go through all the mistakes I have ever made in one play thru was impressive. The last play through I built a base Near a faction station, built a conveyor system to just outside the outpost, built a storage building that was the same grid as my original base, then separated it and made a piston set to connect my old base to it. Then I just connected the two of them when I wanted to deliver to storage, and use the storage building with conveyors and pistons to connect to the faction station to deliver items. Everything was automated so I would just take contracts and fulfil them over and over. I would just fly over take a bunch of contracts, extend the base arm to it and then just comply with the contracts. 😆
Now that’s efficient!
Now this is the text book definition of making learning fun!
As someone who is getting SE soon I can confirm I have no idea what’s happening but I enjoy it
Lovin the chill, honest narration. Kudos and thanks for the video, subscription earned!
Thanks!
Hell Yeah I'm hitting Like & Sub, I had a blast watching you play and the narration is freaking good. I have 50 hours in this game, but I'm too dumb to figure how to make good rovers or ships, so 95% of the mats I get is with a hand-drill lol. Now lets see in your list what other games you played that I want to watch!
Thanks man!
You can keep a track on what contracts you have running. By default, it is bound to the Colon key.
Thank you! I resorted to screenshots! 🤦🏻♂️
Thank you Bob for these great videos, I just bought the game thanks to you, never played so I'll be relying on you, as you guided me so well in NMS. Stay safe buddy.
Thanks! Beeblebum has some good guides you should check out.
I love the format you took with this video. I've been playing for a long time and so watching some players early gameplay can at times be a bit frustrating (wishing I could help them), but instead yours was funny and showed how your character's, er, character was developing throughout the video. I'm definitely going to check out your other SE videos. FYI, you can view contracts that you have signed up for by pressing the semicolon button (;) at any time.
Hey, Bob! Glad to see you back man! Back up to classic Bob shenanigans!
Thanks bud! This one took a while to make, but it’s good to be back’
I hit him up asking where he's been and he told me editing. Lol
@@SurvivalBobGaming thanks for all of your hard work man!
For 30:00 thruster override disables manual movement. You must have had your override at 0.1 so you couldn’t see why your thruster wont auto dampen. Edit : Nevermind. Still check for override, it can be really sneaky. Also i made it to the end.
They seem to get me in trouble a lot. Thanks for watching!
Okay. I watched your entire video. It was very enjoyable. Especially since I'm going through many of the same "luck" that you did.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Well done! Entertaining so far, I'll have to finish it later, gotta get back to work!
Watching this made me buy the game, but we NEED part 2
This is the space engineers content we need.
Totally agree!
Hello, Nice to see you in a new game - pretty cool! I look forward to more. You do these so well, and relatable, I could see me running into the same problems and the efforts to continue. See you again soon!
Thanks! I’m working on another one now!
@@SurvivalBobGaming Good dance moves (made it to the end 2 days later) Thanks, great adventures!
really refreshing short series introducing the game, i've never played but know a fair bit, seeing you forget things i often forget in similar games makes me feel a lot better about myself
yay you finally got it done! so proud of you! haha
mistakes were made 3 minutes into the video lol
Of course! 😂
@@SurvivalBobGaming this game looks amazing. Now I see why it took forever to edit.
@@Spadez614 well…I also payed 20 hours past my 100 days because I couldn’t stop! I didn’t use any of that video either. 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Edit: Part 2 is out now! kzhead.info/sun/Zq6HfrqdhIeYfac/bejne.html Thanks for watching and all the encouraging comments. I’m working on another Space Engineers video now. I’m starting a new save but I’ll be starting on the moon this time which is where I left off. Drop suggestions for mods or challenges here so I can keep track. Thanks!
YOOOO LETS GOOO, THIS VIDEO WAS FIRE
A mod suggestion is the modual encounters mod collection for space engineers it adds a bunch of AI factions hostile and neutral instead of just space pirates and trade stations. It is also highly configurable!
The build and repair system mod, it helps you build or grind grids, through nano bots, like it welds everything you place, but it takes parts from your container, or grinds down grids you paint in a special color.
Speed limit mods so you can go 200 with large grid and 250 with small grid
Also maybe start off with something, for example the ship you got at the end, so you can build your own large grid mega ships
Loved this! Props, Bob! By the way. Put your ship drills, welders and grinders in your 1st slot on the bar to control them with the mouse buttons. Then with drills, you can left click to drill and collect, or right click to create the big holes.
Thanks man! That drill thing was driving me nuts!
I can't wait for the mega-space drills, dreadnaughts and drone carriers in the next installments. As someone with over 1000 hours, this was a great journey that brought back many memories of anger, tears and joy during my own trials.
This is really good Bob! I loved your take on Star Citizen some months ago - I took it as a warning to keep playing No Man's Sky and let SC percolate some more. But I bought Space Engineers. Let's see if Bob liked it!
200 days please
This was such a great and entertaining watch! Thanks and please do more! I would love to see where you go from here.
Thanks! Im working on another one now!
Thanks for this. Never seen space engineers but heard it was good. Fun recap and appreciated the commentary, especially the fails
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! If you have PlayStation. It’s free to try this weekend.
People don’t play this game enough. It may be (relatively speaking) a little old, but it’s very unique
Agreed 👍
Omg! the mistakes, the crashes, doing everything the hard way! I remember it all! The flashbacks! This game has a very steep learning curve, and I'd love to be able to experience it like a newbie again. Very fun video!
I JUST LOVE IT. This video contained all of my early game pains and was really fun to watch. Justlike Lukethenatable videos it's so immersive and engaging. I hope you'll keep making such content and I cant wait for the next part!!!
Hey thanks! That's high praise too! I hope to get more out soon. These do take a while to make though I do believe they are worth it.
@@SurvivalBobGaming they surely are
8:34 In case no one has mentioned it yet (which is unlikely considering there are a thousand comments and the video is a year old), the "unknown signal" supply drops have a button on them that you're supposed to press. Click the button and A) the pod will shut down, stopping the timer and ceasing any avoidance system that may be active, and 2) will grant you a chance at winning a new skin. Press the button and then loot 'n grind.
I have had space engineers in my steam account for years and never played it, this is the first video i have watched in all those years that has made me want to play it.
Wow! Thank you!
As someone with only just shy of 100 HRS in this game, your playthrough is AWESOME! I love the storytelling aspect as well as the fact that you don't just "Save Spam" like I would if I had destroyed my brand new ship on takeoff! Sheesh!!! LOL Anyway, love the series and I agree with everyone else when I emphatically say PART DUECE!!!
Fun to watch, well narrated, well chosen music, yes that was very nicely made.
Thank you!
greatly enjoyed this video. reminded me of my first days of smacking into everything with my face and flipping ships. Great job!
Thanks!
Need more 100%, I watched all off that fully engaged with no breaks. Great vid thanks man
Glad you enjoyed! More to come. These do take some time though. Lots of editing!
Bravo my friend. I had a great time watching you become a Space Engineer. Welcome to the club.
Fun to watch, felt the pain of your struggles. been there many times hehe good job!!!
Thanks!
This was delightful. I made a lot of the same mistakes during my own simulation training, so it's nice to see you finding solutions and powering through.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
HEY MAN! i loved loved this video so much and i'm excited to give this game a try! this is the first video of yours that i've come across but you certainly got a fan out of it!
Thank you! I hope you enjoy the game!
I'm so happy you started with the prospector. It is by far the best early game ship to buy. With a separated jump module you can dock to it can basically do everything. Also kindve proves the viability of large ships to newer players.
Made it to the end, letting you know! LOL I don't have the patience for a game like this, but I am really glad I got to watch you play so I could see it in action!
Thanks so much for watching! One neat trick is you can always restore a back up after a big mistake if you want to. It wouldn't have been as fun to watch if I wasn't bobbing it up though so I just rolled with it.
Nicely done bob! Great to see you take on Space Engineers, can really see you improve along the way! and that first time when you forgot to turn on the engine, while you managed to turn the engines back on, you also accidentally turned the batteries on recharge... been there done similarly stupid things lol! good to see :)
Thanks buddy! Glad you enjoyed the video! I hope to do more. Let me know if you have ideas!
@@SurvivalBobGaming well at some point i think we should see the return of Pirate Bob!
LOL I love watching newbies climb the steep SE learning curve! Great video! Had tons of fun and I'm glad you did, too! I'd love to see more if you're in for it!!! Liked and subbed!😉
Thanks! Yeah, I definitely want to do more. Any suggestions on what I should try next?
@@SurvivalBobGaming Well that really depends on what you want to do. I've been playing my first survival playthrough for 2500h now... and I haven't been everywhere , nor have I done all the things I want to do yet. I had set a lot of goals for what I wanted to build/try out purely fueled by inspiration. I didn't leave the Earthlike planet until I had accomplished everything I had in mind. I built my base, which got bigger and bigger, with landing pads, garages, building platform, elevator, long tunnel to a canyon edge where I built a glass dome habitat sticking out the side, built a massive hangar embedded in the canyon side, automated drones to fetch materials from different parts of the planet from mining outposts, built an ancient massive mobile mining machine that could mine 150m deep covering an area of 50m, built multiple rovers and different dedicated vehicles for various tasks, built a large arched bridge covering a 450m canyon, built my first ship and left Earthlike for the very first time where I almost crap my pants, hoping I hadn't forgotten anything. Explored space, mined some asteroids mapping everything on the way, capturing SPRT outposts, Got into some fights, also explored a few neat mods to fit my play style and raise quality of life. Visited the moon, mucked around with the gravity there, built a solar array in a crater, built different lunar vehicles, ships, did pirating, stole ships and changed them up. Did contracts from earth and also the moon,... I almost crash-landed on Pertam and I'm stuck there till I have set up a new habitat (completely different build-style this time) and mined ice to leave again. I want to find the Monolith on the moon and the Stereolith on mars. I want to build an asteroid base, have a home on each planet, want to build an even bigger ship and muck around with the AI blocks. And once I have done all the things I want to do, I will return home to the earthlike planet to maybe call my first play-through a success, once I have built a large elevator from the base to the canyon valley and explored the whole planet by a large grid exploration rover. Only then will I consider my training complete and only then call myself a Space Engineer, might visit a server for the first time... as ready and experienced as I ever could be. I haven't even published anything to the workshop yet, which could be cool, too at some point. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - So: Maybe you would want to start a survival series?! I love your role play and your squeals of joy and the diary style which I sadly forgot to write using datapads. Oh but I love datapads! I have a whole collection with critical information regarding rules, calculations, sub grid settings and so on. Every vehicle has a dedicated datapad with grid info, must have inventory, bla bla... I also name buttons in a way, as if the engineer is talking to his self: "This button doesn't seem to work...!", "What does this one do...?", "Gimme that sweet hydrogen baby!", "I'll suffocate someday, if I keep forgetting this...!" What ever you do: I hope you have a ton o fun!!! 🥰
@@Dagonius. so you’re saying there’s a lot to do. 😂 I really want to get payback on those pirates. Might try to mess with that next! Thanks for all the ideas!
Eeally good to see another clip from you SurvivalBob! I always loved the style of your clips for No Man's Sky and I loved this one just as much. Summer sale and Space Engineers is 50% off so I might even be tempted to grab it :D
That was a great video, thanks for that. Might be the one to finally make me play the game I've only eyed from a distance
loved this vid, 10/10 would reccommend. also love the way you are  gj! keep it up :)
Thanks!
Awesome Vid Bob! I will be watching that one again later! Had a lot of Laugh out Loud moments.. You are my Favorite BOB! 😂
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it! It was so much fun to make. Glad you put this game back on my radar!
love the video, it was fun watching your journey! you definitely convinced me to pick this game up again 🧡
Thanks! Hope you enjoy it!
For your drills you need to pick the drill option from the "tools" menu. That way itll be controlled by your mouse and left and right click will work as normal
This was a ton of fun to watch. I made so many of the same mistakes starting out too! SE is a grand game, and tons of mods can add more content and depth to the game as well. From neutral corporations that spawn structures and ships for you to attack/raid - to things like Reavers from the Firefly universe. Bloodthirsty space cannibals that hunt you down with a passion. Amazing format for the video, loved the narrative "simulation' style. Would love to see a part 2!
Thanks! I’m working on the next one now!
@@SurvivalBobGaming that's great news! Subbing so I don't miss it!

Thanks! I did do another one on the moon.
Great video, as always, Bob. These 100 days are great and had me rolling the whole time. 😂😂
Thanks buddy! Glad you liked it!
@SurvivalBobGaming watching your video made me dust off my xbox copy of Space Engineers. On a side though you have done Ark and space engineers. What are your thoughts on trying 100 days of Conan exiles? Its definitely a unique survival game.
@twisted6gamer honestly had not considered it. I’m waiting on Starfield right now. I’ll put Conan on the list though.
You rock! Great content! We'll laid out. FUN! Keep up your good work.
Thank you!
I agree, I have over 4100 hours in Space Engineers and I found this video entertaining. It reminded me of when I first started playing. Good job
This was enthralling, and the holy music as you bought your prospector was the icing on the cake ❤
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
I crashed SO many starter ships/rovers and miners at the beginning that I rage quit several times. Watching Splitsie play just pissed me off more so it's been a joy watching your trials and tribulations. The dialogue, dancing, and oh shit moments had me grinning from ear to ear. You have a new subscriber!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Really enjoyed this video, love watching people figure the game out and I always end up picking something up from it (:
Thanks!
The gold ol' prospector. My favorite prebuilt ship.
Love your sense of humor.. Thanks for the entertainmen and all the what not to dews .. Nice Moonbase
Glad you enjoyed it
Prospector is THE BEST, I love it just so much make couple small mods and you have the best utility ship ever.
Great content! Loved it, got me to reinstall SE!
Awesome! Thank you
I've literally never heard of this game but this video was great! I would love to watch another video of this game by you! Really enjoy your commentary style as well as watching you become a space engineer!
Hey thanks! I’m working on another one now. Hope to have it out in a week or so.
This is a very good video. I'm not a fan of watching videos that are almost an hour long but this one definitely entertained me and i didnt regret watching it.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it!
this.. is the most chaotic, bestest, vid of SE i've seen yet..and i've watch more than a few love it
Thank you! 🙏
This definitely needs a part 2, also for mining ships if you haven't figured it out yet, just hold the right mouse button to bore into a the voxels without collecting materials.
Need to select the Drill on the hotbar I think? From the "Ship TOOL" section, not the commands you set for the controllable blocks
@@binford5000 I've always just held LMB for mining and RMB for boring. No hotbar actions required. However that's just me.
Thanks for this, I need to try this one out for sure!! Edit:Purchased via your link, thanks mate.
Thank you! I hope you enjoy it!
you play like a legend! very entertaining and a great ending.
Made it to the end. Glad to see you're enjoying SE. I picked it up for PS5 when it launched. Aside from a huge memory issue, I was having fun. Hopefully, they get it fixed it soon.
I love the video! If there is a part 2 ever, I will assure you I’ll be there as soon as I can be.
Hi Bob (callback to ‘For All Mankind’)! I enjoyed this video very much. I had already tried space engineers in beta, but it was too cumbersome for me at that point. This 100 day challenge reminded me of Astroneer, which I had dabbled in with some fun, and now I am downloading Space Engineer again to take another look 😂 Seriously looking forward to trying this challenge and finding my way back in there. Thanks, and keep up the good work!
Awesome! I hope you have a great time! Thanks!
Great video!!!!! Loved it. Keep up the good work!
Thanks!
I LOVED this video! More Space Engineers!
Thanks! Will do!
The best 2 S.E. videos ive seen in a while! I really really enjoyed it - a lot of content - super funny i laughed the entire video - the edit is great, u cut right to the fun parts - a lot of ships where lost & the bathroom is clean Bob's rating: 4.8*
😂 I love it! Thank you!
loved watching this ! I already own the game from years ago - before planets, but seems it has gone a long way since and that's great for them. if it wasn't for the multiple bugs and shameless DLCs, I would probably play more of it. you certainly picked my interest in your content and I'm going to check out your channel and if I like what I see - I would sub & join FYI - I did watch it to the end
Thanks for watching! I’m working on another Space Engineers video now but would love any ideas or suggestions you have. I’m definitely going to cover Starfield when it comes out but I’m always looking for great games to try out.
As someone who made few but very major mistakes when I first started out, i.e. not putting enough stopping force into my first ship(which was 780,000kg empty that I named The Brick) which made my 10 hour work of art slam into the ground at terminal speed leaving behind only scrap, it's nice getting a perspective of how other people go about starting SE, and has helped inspire me into doing things different. I used to set up bases on an ice lake instead of near and then I'd have to haul many inventoried of rocks to said base-wasn't fun- but now I've finally decided to use that drill-arm setup that you used for mining. Anyways, rant over, and thank you for the video, I'm hoping for a part two where you try and bridge your way between planets
Thanks! Working on it now!
Not only am I a Bob But I have been a Bob since 63 just thought thought I would put that out there lol I saw the whole video and I loved it. I loved the commentary and I REALLY hope you make more video's with Space Engineer's
Thanks Bob! I hope to make many more! Let me know if you have ideas for me.
