Shi Heng Yi is the headmaster of the Shaolin Temple Europe . In this function he is responsible for the mental and physical development and training of the novices, disciples and master students of the monastery in Otterberg / Germany. Despite it’s traditional history of over 1528 years since the establishment of the famous Shaolin Temple in China, less is being known about the underlying aspects of psychological and mental practices that go along with the hardship of physically demanding training and conditioning, known as Shaolin Kung Fu. His goal and endeavor is not only to explain and convey theoretical principles in an understandable way, but above all to make this knowledge practical and tangible for our contemporary modern world. Being a martial artist for more then 36 years, Master Shi Heng Yi has spend decades of practice and research in the field of Shaolin Kung Fu and Qi Gong. He has an academic background and does not consider himself as a Monk. His strength is the ability to combine his knowledge with ancient Shaolin methods to unlock the potential that lies in the unification of body and mind aspects. He's released a 12 Month Self-Master course that's now available - www.shihengyi.online/self-mas...
In this episode you will learn,
How to take control of negative emotions
The benefits of breathwork in high stress situations
How to visualize the future of your dreams

    • @@degelepassant1186 That's what I notice as well and it's not sitting well with me. Everyone has a way of expressing themselves individually. Why does it constantly need to be interpreted, it comes across like you're trying to say what he said "better" than him. I've noticed it with other guests as well. We laugh about it at home, like oh lawd here goes Lewis competing with his guests again. There is no need for that. True meaning underlies words. The ego can be very clever and deceptive in its intentions, of "learning." Allowing things to be, like the master did, is the way of the heart. This is the way of unconditional love, which is what he is teaching us. I know his English is not perfect, but I get the message, loud and clear, no need for intellectual iteration. Thanks for having on the amazing guests you have on, please check the ego at the door and allow your guests to speak freely, I would appreciate that. The viewers are intelligent enough to get the message. No need to whitemansplain everything lol. That's my perspective anyways. Take care.

    • @@bonnybanini224 I mean, Shi Heng Yi is a liar and never had any proper education in shaolin kung fu and buddhism. Out of a buddhist view, you completly missunderstood the meaning of "allowing things to be". Not letting things be and the buddhist way of letting things be do not collide with each other. But if you like to follow shi hengs way of "lettings things be", which is not the shaolin/buddhist way, then go for it. I have no problem with that. Just here to tell, he is no authenticated master. Watch out for 3 red dots in the logo of Shaolin Temples, that means they re official. Dont mistake shi heng for shaolin or buddhism, thank you.

Thank you so much Lewis for these fantastic interviews, just wish there weren't adds every 3 munites lol but i am grateful for your podcasts and try to watch at least one everyday

  • This was the calmest most peaceful and endearing talk you presented to us Lewis. I've followed the Master for a long while and everything he presented to us I've practiced and am still learning, growing and moving forward. While it's a fact that we must look to ourselves for everything no man is an island. You've asked so many very important questions and I could guess - I had an inner knowing of each of his responses. That's how in tuned I am with the different philosophies of this world. Thank you and must say you've grown so much as the few years progressed - you are so much more grounded in who you are and becoming. So let's all celebrate our advancement, at our own pace and support others to do as well.

  • I found great clarity in this monks kind teachings. I have heard many teachings about the risks of sensory desires before, but the way he talked about positive feelings ( which our advertising cultures continually promote on all media), being not good or bad, but just potential impediments to our goals, was so accessible to my understanding, thankyou. For example, i have a problem with comfort eating when stressed. I know i am covering unpleasant feelings and distracting my uneasy thoughts by the strong pleasure of tasty food, yet could not seem to break the pattern. To simply realise that a positive feeling may be as destructive to ones goals as an unpleasant one, gives me the mental space to better evaluate my thoughts, feelings and behavior in terms of authenticity, and goals. It removes the guilt/self indulgence ( not self care), self blame/low esteem part of the circular maladaptive behavior. I can then choose to assess my self critical or pessimistic thoughts and properly address that orientation. Thankyou. A vital piece of wisdom.

  • The positive emotion as a hindrance, fame is a great example. Also when you pay attention to your health your appearance improves and you become more attractive to others. That can be really distracting.

  • Good evening to you both I thankyou again for this shared conversation/teachings. The Shaolin wisdom has more than helped my inner and outer being over the passing at times tough eighteen months. Also now signpost you guys and few select others on this KZhead teaching platform. To my patients in (where appropriate) my mental health addiction nurse practice. Just need our policymakers to wake up and include these practises in our now failing medical model of mental nurse practice, care and treatment. Thankyou for your shared work. Truly Love it. 💜

  • Self mastery is to go against what your ego wants. A jourbey to self knowledge & self building. To not be on auto-pilot or follow the hive mentality, but to conciously think, talk, and act, because you know that everything has consequences. Choose wisely from the beginning so that we do not need to fix the reprecussions, but then again that too leads to life lessons, wisdom & growth. We can find wormholes by stop doing things we know are bad for us & others. Be kind with yourself. We are all learners
