  • As a Puertorican I can confirm that watching the first fight made us cry of pure sadness, but we were still proud of Cotto’s effort, but going into the rematch, watching Cotto dominate Margarito from the start was amazing...we were basically crying out of joy midway through the fight, and when they stopped the fight and announced Cotto as the winner, we all instantly the happiness rush through our bodies, some of us definitely cried that night out of pure joy, Margarito basically disrespected Cotto in that first fight and to watch Cotto get revenge was amazing, definitely a fight to remember, I even got goosebumps when I saw that they stopped it in this video, it almost made me cry again, vamos arriba Boricua🇵🇷

Manny TOTALLY Dominated Margarito from the first round.Manny even looked at the judge Twice, if the fight should be stopped. Cotto the the Heart the to totally go the full 12 rounds with Manny. It was the judge in the ring to stop the fight, before the round was over.

  • Cotto was never the same after that first Margarito fight. I was a fan of Cotto, but it was only after Margarito was exposed as a cheating fraud with Mosley that I understood just how much of a warrior he was during that fight against Margarito and his loaded gloves. Margarito was a cheating coward and should have been permanently banned after his loaded gloves were discovered. Loaded gloves should end your career because you are putting the other fighter's actual life, future health and mental faculties, and their entire career at risk to give yourself an unfair brutal advantage.

    • Margarito should have been arrested for assault with a deadly weapon. People die in the ring without loaded gloves. And yes, this fight ruined Cotto, gave him alot of scar tissue which opens up easier and broke his confidence. Cotto still had a successful career but when he was up and coming he had potential to be one of the greats. Margarito robbed us of that, he is a shit human being.

  • Cotto has long been on of my favorite fighters. I think that the story between the two of them, and the revenge that indeed up happening was so incredible, that I honestly think It should be made into a movie. the moment when he goes over to margaritos corner and just looks at the defeated man on the stool, and dosent say a word! That was one of the most bad ass, and satisfying revenge moments in recent boxing history.

    • @@5kwattz Cotto landed more punches, had double the accuracy, landed more power punches and hit Margarito more than 80 times in the right eye. If anything, Margarito was lucky, cause his shots didnt land as much and was weaker overall and his face was really messed up. Cotto proved that Margarito was a cheater, as he held his ground for 9 rounds and almost didn't bleed at all, vs gushing blood all over the place in 5 rounds and dropping in the end in the first fight. He also won the fight, doesnt matter how, but he did it.

  • I have to say this video covers the story much better than others I've seen. I had no idea mosleys team actually discovered the wraps were tampered with. In a video I watched about it all they showed was cotto reviewing fagarito's wraps where they had busted and it made it seem like it was all speculation until they rematched. Pretty crucial info that was left out so thanks for covering ALL the details

  • Cotto is the most respectful and kind person I’ve ever met I met him when I was 12 my gym had a fight in Caguas PR and he was there i won by stopping the other kid from a body shot in the 3rd and after the match Cotto came to congratulate me and gave me advice about boxing me and my family were devastated when we saw him taking a knee against Margarito the first time I was so glad he beat Margarito the second time after he had cheated

    • @@applesauce0211 Great point and your absolutely correct Margarito did not"deserve/earn" that huge pay day/and chance to enhance his legacy in the way off chance he actually some would/could have upset Pacquiao...however see it more like this...God is always in control and in the end he always delivers justice even if systems fail which they so often do...in this case sure Margarito got few million bucks- means little when you have lost everyone's respect and trust by the way Money means nothing at that point! but he also got and received righteous justice and judgement in the form of Pacquaio not just shutting him out and proving once and for all that the Margarito boogeyman era was over forever! he also literally gave Margarito a Broken eye socket/orbital bone/ some even think a full on lost eye for life.-there are pictures which seem to potentially suggest Margarito may even flat out straight up have a fake eye now he very well might have literally lost his eye from that damage he took in that Pac fight! but bare minimum his eye is fucked his skull there and orbital bone fucked for life etc. Irreparable damage and pain! and that is for life! so make no mistake Justice in the end will be and was delivered fortunately ya know!.

  • I remember when this happened. I was very young and was still in middle school/elementary school. I’m Mexican so naturally we rooted for Margarito, but also liked Cotto because he’s from Rhode Island. We noticed towards the end of the fight that Margarito was fighting a bit too good, like one body shot or hook to the cheek was like taking a shot from thanos. Then we found out about the illegal hand wraps, and next thing you know, we were celebrating Cotto beating the absolute SHIT out of Margarito! Karma is amazing

  • Pacman was concerned for Margarito when he was beating Margarito's face to the pulp, when I catched a glimpse of Pacman was looking at the referee calling for it to end the round, the referee didn't bother (or probably didn't see it) to end the round and it got Margarito suffered, like a patient got failed to perform a botched surgery on him until the last round. Pac was also holding back for the last 2 rounds for Margarito to be left standing up.
