Completely what I expected Linkin park dominated it. Korn and limp bizkit close behind, slipknot a bit behind them and bands such soad, disturbed, evanescence, papa roach and godsmack with a couple hits and then the one hit wonders like trapt and saliva. Only felt like deftones and mudvayne deserved more than one song each in this ranking.
Saliva was more like a 4 hit wonder though. Click, Click, Boom Superstar Hero (Chad from Nickelback and Josey from Saliva) Rest in Pieces

Its incredible that Linkin Park just sort of closed the book on an entire genre. They came out with Hybrid Theory and Meteora. And everyone sort of felt that it had peaked after that. That's why all those songs are classics.

Why does so much of Nu-Metal sound like excellent music for the gym? Like damn, I love listening to Linkin Park, Korn, Slipknot, and Limp Bizkit, among others when I’m at the gym lol
A lot of the songs sound angry which goes well with the gym vibe, try: dig, people = shit, and whole 'dry kill logic' band
It's the grooves they get you into a rhythm
There were about 6 more Limp Bizkit songs than I would've preferred, but in the end (no pun intended) this wasn't a bad list at all.
1998 had so much mu metal songs that ever started the band or was there 2nd or 3rd album. and they both became popular during the early 2000s or mid to late 90s.

Yeah I feel the same way. Their first album definitely sounded more nu metal to me but songs like Sulfur or Devil in I just sound way different from what I would consider nu metal

Unsainted is a bit of nu metal i think. Its like the modernized version of their Self Titled material with better production and catchier hooks on the Chorus

No surprise the list is swarmed with Linkin Park with the top song being, let's say, far of being a hallmark of the genre. With all my sincere love for hybrid theory, not a fan of their subsequent releases. But what really took me off guard was Evanescence so high all over the place and Papa Roach hitting top five. Didn't see that coming at all. Although a bit sad Deftones has only one track here. But, oh well, they've never been so hugely popular as the other bands on the list. Anyways, great stuff.
i was also disappointed with the lack of deftones songs but to be fair, they never liked being grouped in with all the nu metal bands anyway.
yeah this list is cool and all but should be named "top 00's rock songs" and not top numetal because half of these bands have much better nu metal songs and there is almost no music from 95-00 which is the actual nu metal golden era in what music and creativity means
Mudvayne and specially deftones are two bands that fell off after their hype back in the day, while linkin park, slipknot, Korn and others kept themselves alive in the digital era.
