How to Translate Using Your Google Pixel Buds Pro
Interested in learning how to speak and understand another language using your Pixel Buds Pro? Here's how:
📱 You will need an Android phone and the Google Translate app¹
✅ Activate the assistant by saying “Hey Google” or press and hold the earbud then say “Help me speak Spanish” to launch conversation mode¹
🗣 When you’re ready to speak to someone in another language, press and hold the earbud and speak in your native language
🎤 Tap the microphone button under the language you want to be translated when they’re ready to respond
🗣 When the person responds, the translated message will play directly into your earbuds
To learn more, visit support: support.google.com/googlepixe...
¹Requires a Google Assistant-enabled Android 6.0 or newer device and Google Account. Data rates may apply. For available languages and minimum requirements go to g.co/pixelbudspro/help. Translation is not instantaneous. The audio you record will be transmitted to Google for processing. Google may retain the transcription of your conversation for a limited period of time to help improve the Translate service. Please obtain consent from people around you before using this feature.
That sounds like a feature of the app and not the ear buds.
Note: now any headphone or earphones which support Google fast pair support this feature. Working well on my JBL TUNE 230 NC
Seems not quit like they announced
It's a start. These features get better over time.
@@GretSeat like call screen that lets almost every spam call through xD!?
@@mudd3rz215 Red team gets better, too
@@mudd3rz215 I have been using call screen since the pixel 4 and I have never had a scam call come through
@@GretSeat it’s basically the same video they posted 2 years ago for the regular Google pixel buds lol
Seems like something that can be done without the ear buds
If your using Google translate - any earphones would do the same thing no????
Yes. I've used the Google translate app without headphones/ear buds. I honestly think it's easier that way. It's an amazing app
Yeah the feature where it translates what they're saying straight to your pixel buds is cool but this feature in the video is nothing new or special about the pixel buds
Нет!

I'm disappointed, when I saw the advert for this originally, I thought a phone wouldn't be required as it wasn't shown in the advert and I'd just hear the person's language translated into my ears. If I need the phone out with the translation app, why would I need pixel buds pro? I could just use the microphone on the phone
I understand what you're saying. There's always going to be the need for the 'output' language to either be displayed (i.e. look at this!) or played out loud for the recipient to know what you're saying. I suppose the Buds could tell you what to say (i.e. listen and repeat) so the whole process could be truly 'earbuds only'. However, I think of stuff like this as a nice little, occasionally useful gimmick, rather than a fully functional Star Trek Universal Translator.
There's a phone used in the original advert though.
You got it all wrong. It's an ad. There are underlying bullshitery there. If your cheapo buds or headphones can do it, don't buy the pixel buds pro.
I agree I'm two seconds away from buying these for that feature only to realize it's not the earbuds at all the app just works that way. And if I'm trying to eavesdrop on what's being said at the nail salon it's going to be obvious using the earbuds this way because I have to give a verbal command... Where is on your phone you can just do it stealth
*See, I was about to buy these today and I held back on doing so thinking I'd better look to see how useful this would be first. I'm glad I just saw this because I figured I could just wear them and they'd just pick up other languages around me and instantly translate them to my preferred language for me to understand since I speak both English and Spanish. Apparently not. If what this video shows is how they work, ANY phone can do this. Definitely not purchasing these anymore.*
Sammmmmmmme. I got the regular ones on accident and was holding out for these thinking the same thing but I'm glad I researched. I don't even want them anymore.
Just got mine and loving every single aspect of them!! Great job Google please keep up the fantastic work
We're jumping for joy, Kyle. Glad you're off to a great start! 🥳
Sadly the feature doesn't actually seem to work properly on Pixel 6. I hear my own translated speech back to myself in the earbuds, and when I turn on the speaker, the translation instead goes to the earpiece, not the actual speaker. Great feature that needed a little more refinement.
Just got myself a set of bud pro and this is unbelievably clunky in real life. You constantly have to hold down a button for these things to pick up the spoken words from both parties. The video shows the waiter just openly speaking and that's not how this actually works. they have to hold a button on your phone. It's super unnatural and prohibitive for pretty much all freeform travel interactions. What a bummer.
Give it time to evolve. I was on a week trip with a Spanish speaking igy from Guatemala. He spoke 0 English and I speak basically 0 Spanish. This was years ago when Google translate via website was our only option. Allowed us to communicate with each other even though yes it was super clunky and not 100% accurate. Without it we wouldn't have been able to communicate at all.
@@dingaonhockey yeah, certainly hopeful for the future and I'm not gonna throw them away. but the useful you had in your trip was not dependent on the buds. just as useful with a phone only
@@draykestar Maybe the timekettle ear buds are better. Those allow you to hand off one of the buds to the other person so you don't need to look at the phone
Finally a useful tutorial video
We need it more covert and less in your way. Once we can ignore the phone completely, you'll have a good product
I was hoping that is what they would do. Like just pick up the languages spoken around u
It is a great innovation with a lot of potent energy. Something I would like to see next year- a special sleep mode with 8-9h of battery. Now we have some options such as Bose's sleeping buds, but they are far a away from their main goal. I just feel that Google could create this option more successfully. The second mode I would like to see in all google/Android buds is...the hearing mode. Again, with some serious battery. In that mode people with reduced hearing to be able to hear human voices more clearly and also some street noises better. I believe that the true power of Google is its human oriented policy and empathic care. And this power is unlimited by its nature.
I'd love this. I have fallen asleep a number of times with the buds in only to be woken when they play the notification sound as they disconnect :D
The Nail Shop is about to be funnnyyyyy
I was going to buy this for my grandma but it looks too hard to use. So glad for this video
Glad it could come in handy for ya. 🙌
@@madebygooglelol good job reading. i don't understand why this app plays the translated message back through my earbud instead of through the speaker, the other person can't hear it that way.
What difference does it make speak in earbuds or loud speaker i have Google translate app on my galaxy with buds 2 pro i can heart ig on my buds
Nails salons are going to be lit 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Still waiting for the Babel fish 🐟
❤️❤️❤️
I want to buy a headband like this, where do I buy it from?
Comparing this to the Timekettle WT2 Edge, the pixel buds are missing the ability to hand off the 2nd earbud to another person, like family in-laws as an example, for real time conversion leaving the translate app open but without having to touch or look at the phone to make eye contact with the person you are talking too.
Hygiene issues with sharing in-ear headphones. Logically why they wouldn't spend time on it, since if you're close enough not to worry, you almost certainly have a common language already.
This isn’t really active translation it’s just listening
Bonjour . quel est le prix? svp
Great feature.
We're glad you're just as excited about it! 🙌
When will this be released in India
Nail salons are going to be crazy
Absolutely monumental and no one is talking about it
Why would they, the buds aren't doing anything at all differently than just using the mic on your phone. When I saw "real-time translation", I thought wow, I can listen to someone speak another language, and the ear buds will translate to my language with spoken voice into my ear. But um, no.
I can do that with normal earbuds and a translate app, dont even beed earbuds
so your just hearing the app using the ear buds
So the earbuds dont do anything.. thanks
Brazil?
Does this work with any Andriod phone or just the pixel phone
Hi there, thanks for your interest. Pixel Buds are compatible with mobile devices. It works with any Android phone running Android 6.0 or higher.
Hey there, we hope we answered your question. We'll be here if you have other questions. Also, there's a short survey coming up - let us know what you think.

Are Pixel Buds Professional good for Pixel 6 Professional
Thanks for reaching out, Mohammed. Pixel Buds Pro works with all Bluetooth compatible devices including Pixel 6 Pro. Android users get access to additional features, like a companion app for settings and features, and hands-free access to the Google Assistant. See more details here: bit.ly/3zJvRgo

Waiting for earbuds pro in India
Only the pro version?
What if it was very noisy in the environment? It would have a hard time hearing the guy
Hey Desolo, Pixel Buds Pro has an ANC that adapts to your unique ear shape, and the buds fit in your ear canal to maximize the amount of noise blocked. They also have a Transparency mode when you don’t want to be fully immersed, like when running or crossing streets. If you have more questions, send us a message @madebygoogle via Twitter or Facebook.
I believe he’s asking in a factory type of environment. Machines are around and you are trying to communicate with a worker. Will the ear buds pick up their language in an environment like that.
you can do this with any earbud brand and the app... you dont need pixel pro what the hell kinda marketing is this

They shouldn't say real time translation. I was so excited to hear this only to find out it's not true🥺
Google's inability to make a properly working product is the most frustrating thing ever. They make is so difficult to support their products: The list of issues I have with my pixel 6 pro, buds A & Buds 2 don't make me confident about these products. They're probably going to have connectivity issues like any google product 🤬
I didn't this was happening. I had my pixel 1, and 4a 5g which screen recently was damaged :( I've never had a problem before, but this concerns me for the future of the brand. I was planning to get the pixel 7, or 7a next year.
I havent had one issue with my Pixel 6 Pro, or Pixel buds. Maybe the best phone I've owned
@@MrEllsberry now with pixel 7 they are even better!!!! Pixel buds pro with audio switching is very good as long as you have a google account on android and possibly pixel tablet (in near future)
It's because google is developing their own chop technology with Intel, samsung doesn't even use their own modems they use Qualicum... As you can see Google. Is innovating, the pixle has the best camera but the worst modem for now so personally I won't buy it and will buy a Samsung. However google owns their own stuff and won't sell it to others like Apple. Samsung will soon fall behind and be left in the dust but that may take another 5 years and we are caught in the middle with no clear choice. The best earbuds won't translate... So it's get ones that translate or get the good earbuds and just stick with the app..

That’s great i hate trash phones
@Emmanuel Goldstein because for some reason Americans see it as a status symbol..
