Do people really say “at the weekend”? Is that a British thing?
No this guy is speaking English wrong and that's why it's messing up translating.

I'm British and I didn't even realise it wasn't common to say?? I use it all the time -- I'm pretty sure everyone here does. Mandarin is very difficult and google translate translates exactly word for word despite possible grammar or lingual errors within the language (if that made any sense), so it'll just be the different wording that makes it incorrectl
"At the weekend" is a British English usage but honestly it sounds really awkward since one doesn't say what did you do AT Monday or what did you do AT the week... it's perhaps a more colloquial usage and should not have been used in service of this demonstration.
I thought he was trying to test the translation's quality by saying "At the weekend"... I think that's just how he thinks that sentence must be said?...

It seems Latin-based languages are translated best. More complex sentences would need to be tested in Italian and Norwegian, but as demonstrated, those two languages were translated accurately!
When other languages communicate to you, google pixel buds 2 should directly translate in real time on what they are saying as your wearing them.

It's better when you type it down if you would have added a "?" The tone would have changed
