    • Bro, if there is a most popular rugby player of all time in France, maybe it's Fred Michalak, or Serge Blanco, even Philippe Sella or Thierry Dusautoir. And since the 2022 Grand Slam, it's definitely Antoine Dupont. Chabal is a celebrity, who seek for fame, and we love him, but he is far of being the most popular french rugby player.

    • @@TomKanter-tw3ts The rugby players you've listed are also very popular, but Chabal's rugby career is over for a long time, and he's still in some advertisements, tv shows, and even Internet memes. While others are not, and most of them have never been, except Michalak maybe. They're only known by French rugby fans, while Chabal is known by the French population as a whole, rugby fans or not. Antoine Dupont is young and very popular, he has time to reach and go beyond Chabal's level of popularity.

  • As a student in physiotherapy, I was lucky to do an internship with a man who was the physiotherapist of the French team during the New Zealand world cup. He told me the player who impressed him most was Chabal. Because unlike other players who wanted more muscle for more power what differentiated him was that he was the most flexible of all of them. And for a muscle to be strong he has to be flexible to deliver all the power needed with full motion range movements. That's what made him a beast in his opinion.

By the way if you're curious about the source of my previous comment, my internship was with M.Grand Jean-Michel who's a physiotherapist osteopath who's been a fisio in a lot of rugby clubs like USAP, the Dragons Catalans and the French national rugby team between 2008 and 2011. Chabal made 62 appearances for France . • He had the size, speed, and strength to play the position of tight end or linebacker in American football. It would be interesting to see him give a shot at it during his prime.

  • Jesus. Guy's a freaking freight train. Even the biggest dudes there were just flies on the windshield. Even when they were running him down they were scared to put hands on him! HAH! He didn't just TACKLE those guys, he PICKED THEM UP AND CARRIED THEM BACK SEVERAL YARDS. I could just see him in the NFL grabbing the opposing quarterback and carrying him back so far the announcers like "Okay we are third down and...nineteen?!"

    • I desagre Chabal move when he smash the Jaw of the allBlack with his head at 0:35. It is a nonsens. It is not a sport move. It is a murder move. I understand why he did that because allblack didn"t respect "l'ouvreur" a few minutes before but... well. He is the punisher at some point. I guess he did the job but... bad move.
