Holly Andrew I also have a friend who had it. It’s awful. You get it from being bit by a tic. My friends had chronic Lyme disease. My friends said it felt like someone was repeatedly stabbing her on the inside. It got so bad that she would have seizures and her heart actually stopped in the hospital at one point. She also couldn’t walk at one point and had to be in a wheelchair. At that time there wasn’t much research on it and doctors would think herself and many others I’ve heard from were faking it. With celebrities coming out with it, it’s now getting recognition and hopefully someday there will be a cure.

Nicole Bmit No I haven't. I honestly don't really listen to secular music anymore. I used to enjoy some of JB's more soulful neo-soul sounding stuff though, when I did. He always seemed way ahead of his years when performing when younger. His voice is amazing. This interview was hard to watch. I haven't really seen him since he was younger and acting all wild. He seems so broken here. Like maaaaaybe he's not quite ready to come back. Or should even come back. If this is an example of his current state of mind, I would suggest to him to steer clear or the music industry. It was really weird seeing him practically beg people to download and stream his new song a little while back. I kept thinking to my self "Justin. Hun. Do you know who you are? You're like the white boy version of Beyoncé. Don't be out here begging." I wish him the best.

The respect he has for himself and the people that are helping him heal. He’s just saying what almost everyone struggles with. You can see how anxious Justin was the whole time and then the interviewer eased his posture and placed his leg on the chair, that one move seemed to have made it more informal and comfortable for Justin. I commend the interviewer for that.

I think Justin is just at a point where he doesn't feel like he's being treated like a normal human anymore. He's probably tired of crazy fans, fake friends, haters, etc. He just wants a normal, happy life, and I truly want that for him. I wish that people would see him as human. I do not care if you don't like his music, because I certainly don't, but he deserves better. He is a great man with the purest intentions, and getting this much attention is no doubt severely wearing him down. I just want to give him a big hug and let him know that he is so loved by God!

Same thing happens to many young celebs. It is why they say young stars are cursed and rarely make it to adulthood without getting into huge scandal or almost dying. I remember the hate jb got. I was not a big fan. I liked pop music and whatever the radio played. So i liked his music. The hate seemed out of proportion to his actions. I kept thinking he is just a spoiled rich kid doing what kids do. Why are folks acting like jb is committing murder for acting like a typical teen boy? Why are none of the MANY adults in his life not helping him? I also noticed all his "friends" were way older than him. So yeah i never hated jb for doing stupid stuff as a kid.

I didn't realize I was holding my breath, and I had let it out at the same time as him. Just knowing all the fucked up things that happens in the music industry... I mean, he didn't have to say much. His body language, and anguish in his voice, says it all. And, how fierce he is about wanting to protect Billie... I had felt the same way when I first listened to her; I cried, and said "Someone needs to protect this girl." So, I'm so over the moon to hear him agree, and to say he's just one call away.

Zane's ability to make it feel as though it is truly just a conversation between them is what, I think, is impressive. This is what Chloe Vega was getting at.

honestly, i've never been a huge bieber fan or anything like that, but in that video......wow, i'm seeing this whole other side of him i never knew existed. his story is crazy, and it really hurts to hear about everything he's been through, the trials and struggles he faced that came with childhood stardom, the fame, his sickness(which i didn't know about), the depression.....the guy who is being interviewed here is so humble, so grateful, and so _grown_ , despite all the things he went through, he's been able to grow from it.

What he said about Billie literally made me tear up. He is unbelievably kind, so sweet, and his intentions are so so pure. I'm not a fan but the fact that he wants to literally protect her from the same terrible things that he went through means so much.
He comes across so humble and gracious and articulate in this video. He's still going through the motions but you can see the wisdom growing in him alongside it. And I'm just so glad these conversations are being made public. We kneel at the feet of the famous as if being that high up is glorious when actually it is so many things all at once and is clearly so chaotic and challenging, to a dangerous extent. This interview made me feel a lot of compassion and respect for Justin. And theirs seems like a sweet, sincere love story too.
It’s hard to imagine being that famous and rich at 15, a global superstar, I couldn’t imagine, it’s incredible to see him now with so much insight and appreciation and understanding etc his best days are ahead of him for sure,

Yes and no... I think u can be a fan of someone's creative output without putting them on a pedestal and forgetting they're just another human being, or alternately tearing them to pieces and judging them more harshly than you ever would do to someone you met face to face. In the U.K. two days ago we just had a prime time tv presenter commit suicide after all the stress and scrutiny she was under cos of shit she had going on in her personal life. Obviously the media are the worst for pushing a harsh, critical agenda, but I think interviews like this are food for thought about how we all need to take responsibility, as a society, for the way we treat people in the public eye. Don't troll people because ur judging them through a screen. Don't mob people in the street or go to their concerts and scream constantly so they can't even perform their music properly. I was never particularly a fan of Justin's music. I saw pictures of him with his top off in newspapers and thought he was probably just very full of himself or whatever and judged him from afar. Watching this has made me think about that and the way I make those kind of judgments all the time on people who yes, may have made the choice to be in the public eye, but who are deserving of compassion, and much more complex, and probably more likeable than a lot of mainstream media will ever allow them to be.
Wow. Ok. This is not what I was expecting. He's really broken. He really is made out of glass now or, in other words, the industry polished him so hard that he is barely there anymore. Man. I really hope he finds strength again and learns to deal with all of this. He is so nervous and anxious here, it hurts. Growing up in the industry is a blessing and a curse.

Oh God I feel bad for him :( Reminds me of those days when I had depression and I had to take pills I used to shake this way, it's the nerves and I used to hardly hide it my parents helped me especially when in public a bit embarrassing that's how people see it and they make you feel bad for it because they think you are insecure or just weird. But I'm sure lots of people who had gone through it feel his pain as well... I still have those episodes I hope he gets better.

Healing is a long process it takes time sometimes even years, he just needs people who will watch over him like my parents did, I almost got addicted to those pills but with the help of my mother I stopped them bit by bit by lowering the dose, I couldn't have done it without her tbh.

I was with him when he just started. When ONE TIME came out, I knew he'll be a big star. But at the very young age, he already received so much hate, so much disrespect, even his mom was being disrespected below the belt already. He endured everything, he tried to stay away and just ignore them but everyone has a limit, he became a monster that people wanted him to be. They created him that way before and then when he started doing wrong, inappropriate and scandalous things, you threw more shades and hates, like when will people accept the fact that he's also just a human being. He did a lot of things at the very young age, helped on charities, helped his family, specially his mom, but why do people only see the wrongdoings he did? He deserves the love he has from his Beliebers, from us.

Now I feel just really empathetic for him you know. He's been through so much that we as fans would've never known until an interview like this where he tells his story of hurt and growth. And I LOVE how he wants to protect Billie because same :( It's so surreal to see that Billie was a huge fan of him growing up and now he wants to protect her. And about him not wishing anyone to go through what he went through, Billie has, sadly, already gone through that. Depression, lack of wanting fame, not enjoying tours etc. But yeah wishing Justin the best and hope he gets better soon.

I've been in patient with suicidal patients like myself. He's acting like them and myself. I can see it. He needs to get treatment ASAP. Im worried for this dude.

He just didn’t incorporate it into pretty much any of his new music. Honestly doesn’t sound like he wrote as much of this album as he’d like ppl to believe either. That’s purely my opinion tho. The record was marketed as a window into his journey and growth. All it seems to be is an extended love letter w/ a lot of writers collaborating on a project that we thought was an extremely personal. Idk. Not that it’s bad or anything, I was actually looking forward to seeing a personal perspective on this record. It’ll prob be #1 on the charts, but it’s really kinda just meh imo

Most of the comments people are saying are so sad to read because they are far from the truth! He seems changed and authentic and truthful to himself and renewed. I loved this interview and it made me tear up a bit of how deep his thoughts are and his responses and how he talks about Haley and Jesus. I'm so proud and happy that he has grown to be a wonderful man!! I know I don't know him but his new persona makes me wannabe look for someone like him who has grown and become the person God wants him to be and it also encourages me to do the same. This is so profound. I literally thought of correlation between Justin and Billie and how I hope she finds calm place in this storm of fame couple of days ago. The fact Justin knows her and feels that way was a complete surprise for me, but I am so glad. None of us can understand what these young artists go through.

When he started crying it made my heart break
I don't think he's still on drugs. He just seems so fucking anxious to me. His body language, lack of eye contact, even just the subtlety in the way he's expressing himself... It's actually pretty jarring seeing him like this because I know this is what I seem like. Anxiety is a monster, I'm really impressed with him sharing with the world what he's been going through, and not ending it all with "I'm better now." Recovery isn't linear, mental illness is not the type of thing that just goes away, he'll be dealing with this for a long time and it's so clear he's still struggling. But major props to him for talking about it and trying again. I think this is really good representation of what struggling with mental illness is like. The relationship with Hailey still sounds so iffy to me though. It worries me how much he seems to rely on her, I don't want to know what would happen if that all fell apart. It seems like he would too. Hope he's happy.

Changes was not the album I hoped it would be. I thought he would sing about all those issues problems and struggles he has been through yet almost all of it is about Hailey. I feel like he is not healed yet. I feel like he is on a good path towerds peace in his life but he's still fighting demons which is very clear if you watch this interview. Thinking about him going on tour is very scary bc I dont know if hes ready for it. I honeslty truly hope the people in his life only want whats best for him and not just the succes, the money, the attention... I hope someday he can fully become the person he wants to be: loyal, Nice, a good father and husband, a strong believer and ofc happy

That's a good human right there. His struggles are hard to watch but super proud of him for being real. It's hard to be real these days. I hope he knows his worth outside this industry and how much people close to him really love him. Truly love him for who he is and not what he can do.

OH WOW. I had to pause for quite a few times to cry my heart out. I was never a belieber nor a hater but I deeply care for Justin’s happiness. Struggling with physical & mental illnesses of my own, it shatters me seeing him suffer and there’s nothing I can do to help him.. but seeing him recover as he is now gives me so much hope. I’m so glad he met Hailey. And I’m so glad he still choose to live and fight not just for himself but for others like Billie.. it means nothing but Justin already means a lot to a lot of people.. me included.
For a long time I couldn't stand him. I thought he was just so full of himself and cocky, but it never occurred to me what fame does to a child's brain and how growing up like that can so severely affect a person's metal health and how it basically over stimulats the brain to where normal things that would make most of us happy and excited, didn't for him anymore. I'm just really proud of him for taking a step back and realizing he needed a break and to get help and now he's doing really good and spreading his message and trying to help people on the outside really understand the affects being shot to superstardom at 15 has on a person. He's matured and grown up a lot and I'm glad to see him using his energy for good and that he has compassion for others in the same situation he was just a few years ago. I also think Hailey has been really good for him she is just a very calm spirit and I think that's gonna greatly benefit his continuous growth as a person.
