I have always thought Russia built good aircraft. Some models better than others, just like here. Where I live, we have had the worse fires in local history and the winds did not help. There were so many fires in the Northwest, the resources were thin. Canada sent one or two of their 215/415 water bombers and they are great aircraft. I could see where either the US Forest Service or some of the private contractors who do wildfire service for the government should negotiate and buy or long term lease these Be 200 amphibious jets from Russia. They are fast, can scoop water like the 415 but carry more gallons and can be faster. I wish relations would warm up with the US and Russia and some business could be made here. This isn't for any military application against each other, this for the saving of lives, homes and property. The fires are still going and two or three of these jets could cover the states of Oregon and Washington at this time. From what I have seen so far. This jet gets the trophy. and with these water bomber jets, the fires would be out by now. I admire the Beriev 200

I reckon ALL passenger carrying aircraft should have the ability to land SAFELY on water, or least be able to stay afloat. Nice airplane
@colliecandle10 жыл бұрын
Only issue is that that makes aircraft much more expensive potentially.
@crazyivan101510 жыл бұрын
***** By all means but in actuality I believe that most aircraft are designed to stay afloat after a water landing.
@crazyivan101510 жыл бұрын
TheIrishgamer101 Non-hydroplanes are not designed to stay afloat in water. Not many planes are designed to be watertight or even airtight for that matter. High altitude planes flying where little oxygen is are usually the only airtight planes you'll find out there. Furthermore, planes are generally supplied oxygen via intakes within the engines. If the engines aren't running, oxygen isn't being pumped into the cabin (that's why engines aren't on while it's in water, whether due to damage or the pilots turned off to prevent water from being pumped in). The only reason you see planes floating for a while before sinking is due to the fact a plane is seperated into multiple compartments. For instance, a commercial plane won't have the cabin pressure sharing with it's luggage storage. Basically, you have the time for all chambers to fill up with water to escape a plane that crashed into the sea. Not saying at all to panic and get out of the plane, but I am saying you have a time limit to get out before you're stuck inside. Depending on the damage the plane sustained on impact determines how long you have before it sinks. Also, even if it is an airtight plane, it will still sink. Unless it's a hydroplane, it will not stay afloat as it's not designed too. ***** You can't predict what sort of tension the plane will undergo upon impact within water in unprecedented circumstances. As such, seals will most likely break upon impact, making a watertight plane not so watertight anymore. To even big companies researching and improving safety on plane safety, making it waterproof is simply a waste of money unless you are making a flying tank capable of sustaining impact at upwards to 500-600 mph. A more probable method of achieving safety is finding out reasons why each plane that ever crashed, well, crashed. With that method, they can improve on it, making planes less likely to come across a dire situation, and if it did, it would have backups/procedures to be carried out to prevent the worst case scenario.
@soccerjonesy10 жыл бұрын
why thinking small? I demand ejection seats for each passenger!!! ;)
@Suyamu10 жыл бұрын
Obviously they already can. Why do you think the safety instructions are laminated?? Because you can use them as a paddle to row the plane safely ashore in case it has to land in the water.

This is a great and well designed jet amphibian. I always wonder what they could have brought to the operation had ‘Chalks Ocean Airways’ survived and had the means to put these in passenger service. In that configuration, the Be-200 can carry 70 passengers. That’s a regional jet payload.

@m.hstudioproductions66422 жыл бұрын
@@m.hstudioproductions6642. To be sure, they were built like tanks and it was an issue of poor maintenance that took the Mallard down, in this case. Maybe replacing them with Bombardier CL-415’s might have been the way to go. Either way, it just tragic that this airline and type of service was lost. It comes down to $$$ but what were the possibilities for future expansion? Miami to Paradise Island might have been upgraded and showcased as what amphib operations could be.

+Code3forever If only the Russian government wasn't full of shit...
gvh
I like our DC-10 conversion also. I was able to take some great video of it in 2008 and posted it to my youtube under Humboldt Fire 2008.
+Code3forever And you're from the USA ? I'm from Russia ! ) By the way I have repeatedly noticed the similarity be-200 and A-10 Thunderbolt aircraft . LOL
+SwaffyX Do you know when the Germans stopped saying that the Russian government was full of shit? On the 9.5.1945
The perfect jet airliner for landing on the Hudson river. Captain Sully Sullenberger would love to be behind the yoke of this beauty!!!
The most Gerry Anderson of modern aircraft!
The much faster transit speeds would make these a more effective fire fighting aircraft.and a good margin of power for maneuvering in steep country.
I reckon ALL passenger carrying aircraft should have the ability to land SAFELY on water, or least be able to stay afloat. Nice airplane
Only issue is that that makes aircraft much more expensive potentially.
***** By all means but in actuality I believe that most aircraft are designed to stay afloat after a water landing.
With that method, they can improve on it, making planes less likely to come across a dire situation, and if it did, it would have backups/procedures to be carried out to prevent the worst case scenario.
why thinking small? I demand ejection seats for each passenger!!! ;)
Obviously they already can. Why do you think the safety instructions are laminated?? Because you can use them as a paddle to row the plane safely ashore in case it has to land in the water.
The most beauty hydroairplane!
Beautiful aircraft.... 👍👍👍👍👍👍
I really like Russia's water air plane.
That's the coolest seaplane I've ever seen, awesome!
Great show. It nice to see some innovation in aircraft !
really nice and impressive craft.
Decolar da água é mais complicado doque na terra , Meus parabéns aos pilotos
Очень красиво! Спасибо.
Wouahhh...Quels magnifiques seaplanes et quel beau spectacle ! Thank you ! ;-)
That's so impressive, goes to show the Soviet technology is far more advanced than what's around. If this was the main fuselage and t/o procedure, no loss of life. Ditching would be the so easy.
I'm sure there's a seat on board for you. It is probably as reliable as their single remaining aircraft carrier.
@@formereverything4268 That was a little uncalled for, Soviet engineering was pretty creative and solved problems sometimes unable to be solved in the US. Can't we just appreciate this cool plane?
@formereverything4268 yeah the ruskis were pretty amazing engineers. Shit they pioneered space travel ..usa had to play catch up lol
This is a great and well designed jet amphibian. I always wonder what they could have brought to the operation had ‘Chalks Ocean Airways’ survived and had the means to put these in passenger service. In that configuration, the Be-200 can carry 70 passengers. That’s a regional jet payload.
I couldn't agree with you more, those Grumman Mallards were way too old.
Looks great and flies even better ! What a nice plane !

A technical masterpiece and beautiful 👍🏻
Awesome. You do not see that many amphibious planes anymore. Russian engineering at its best. Greetings from Miami.
They are so graceful. It is too bad they didn't have these during the forest fires on the West Coast.
That plane is so cool, I didn't know it existed.
Great float plane design!
I love the Russians they get drunk and create something like this
Wright!!!.Funny comment!!. :-) !!!. :-) !!!.
HAHAHAH wtf hahha agreed
I love Russian people because when they got drunk Russian government spends their money for completely ridiculous projects saying: enemies are knocking to our borders. And Russian people believe in it. Even when they have nothing to eat.
siεrus luckily Russians don’t have a drunk president anymore, luckily Russians don’t have a parasite president anymore, luckily Russians president doesn’t stutters when goes to media and talks stupid nonsense like injecting yourself alcohol or bleach.
siεrus they have plenty food, I work with many Russians and everyone one of them told me that, whatever it’s said on American news about Russia is false.
I LOVE THIS AIRCRAFT!!!!!
i lovo soo much ty154b2 ty 154M il62 ty134a3 il76td fullplanes sovietic age ´´
I can see an awesome action sequence in, on and around this thing.
Imagine the reaction one would get putting this in at the local boat launch ramp...
Just great and most beautiful. Thanks for posting
It is one of my four favorite aircraft in the world. They have toured Europe with it, wish they'd bring it to the US - I'd fly to wherever it was to see it! Multi-purpose, beautiful!!!!
Хорошее видео. Чувство гордости за достижение нашей страны,везде бы так, во всех сферах.
Wow...that's some pretty amazing technology. Very cool. Those pilots have a pretty cool job.
Amazing Airplane.... Superb engineering and Perfect design
The Be-200 really seems to be a formidable plane - not just for fighting forest fires. Also the Be-103 is interesting; the wing-geometry somehow reminds me of that of the il-2 Sturmovik... All in all I really like russian planes; there's something very special about many of them, that few others from other nations have.
Really....what an outstanding aircraft!
Very elegant machine. Beautiful & Polyvalent; How i wish its sales could go better, it deserves it.
It's nice to know that someone is still making a big amphibian.
Am Proud of the designer !! Really so nice job
Never mind the bad reviews. This aircraft is wonderful.
This & the CL-215. Two of the BEST air/water craft. So kool.
Passei minha infância vendo aviões anfíbios (hidroaviões), tipo Catalina, (Lockeed?) a pistão. A jato, nunca. Lindos. Estacionavam defronte minha janela, aqui em Salvador, eram da CRUZEIRO e da PANAIR. Muita saudade daquele tempo.
Очередной прекрасный ролик, реально поднимает настроение, спасибо!)

Absolutely awesome 👍🤩👏
Very amazing aircraft. Thank you for posting this.
I can see the Fire Fighting capabilities, which are excellent, also can see the transport capabilities to fly into area's that have no landing fields, very nice lines in the design.
Larry R Wendell Jr There are couple versions proposed, firefighting, airliner, multirole, maritime search and rescue, maritime partrol, maritime anti-submarine etc.
Well, what ever fits the role it must serve, I rather think it will handle that quite well!
Larry R Wendell Jr There is in existence even more awesome Beriev product, Be A40 Albatros, BE200 was derived from its technology.
ITmage Neat! Thank you for the updated information, !
+Larry R Wendell Jr You know it strikes me that when the Russians go about solving an engineering problem they go with some really obvious, no-nonsense solutions...unlike some American designs it does not appear that they "over-think" things too much. Nobody is perfect but I have been an admirer of the Russian approach to engineering for a long time. Not for everything but they are pretty good at aviation and weapons.
Simplesmente lindo esse aparelho, parabéns pelo video. Gostaria de voar em um avião desse.
La imaginación y la audacia humana no tiene limites.
i dont know why but u love this planes that have capability of landing in water and on land
Very cool planes!!
Parabéns pelo show aéreo magnífico 👏👏👏👏👏 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Another russian beautiful bird with a cause .. Thumps Up
Interesting concept, thanks for sharing + merry christmas!
Молодцы !!! Нет слов!!!
My respects to Russian Engineering
Amen they know how to design rugged and durable stuff... Like jet planes that land on the fuselage and then take-off immediately after..... It is mind boggling.
VFW-Fokker 614 DLR Amazingly RARE German jet with engines above wings! [AirClips SlideShows]
Soviet..
Russia fuck dog
@@paparazzikz Russian, first fly in 1998
We need more planes like that.
I saw it in Sardinia few years ago, nice flight deck
The actual question is : why after 9 years is this suddenly on my recommendations
same
Or rather, why did it take 9 years.
Political stuff, it’s Russian, and KZhead is an American owned company. Some stuff happened u know

You really are an original idiot
Ох какой красавец! Заглядение, а не самолёт
Wow! What skill! What an aircraft! After all the forest fires in British Columbia, Canada this year, Canada would do well to order 4 or 5 of these amazing aircraft.
A great looking airplane. Well done Russia!
All I know is I love this machine. Kudos to the brilliant minds who conceived such a design!!
Nice!
Very beautiful flighT airplanes and training scene. Great!
Great video, thanks! I was there on 10.09.2010 but all flight display was cancelled because of high winds :(. Now I can see at least how it would've looked like.
at 15.10 amazing flare! smooth landing, great pilot!! :)

fabulous aircraft. Convair in the US would be proud of this .........well done to all involved. !!

C'est un avion très efficace et très beau.
Impressive, impressive aircraft. Superb!
Never a dull moment in russian aviation innovation. Great video, beatific settings. Where in russia is this, thanks.
In Taganrog, a town at Azov sea.
We buy planes from other countries, we should consider this one; westernize and customize for applications like U.S. forestry. Not to mention it would be good for U.S.- Russian relations.
I really liked the video, thanks!
Great! About time there was a bit of a return to seaplanes.
Just need a tropical island and a hangar by the beach with this setup.
No. This one lands on the lagoon, the palm trees fall apart and it disappears into your private volcano!
Красивая и нужная машина , просто лебидь . 😎
Really cool looking plane, semi amphibious it can operate on land and on water
Beautiful aircraft! ✈
