Jim Carey is the man !!
U...o ok I'll
I actually love all Adam Sandler movies I don't care what people say
I'm just happy to see Adam Sandler... I'm a fan of him, but let's face it... His latest movies did not catch the attention of audiences...
Keanu Reeves
Sonic didn't save Jim's career it showed us that Jim still has it
I also like it when he plays Joe Biden on SNL. 🙂
That the whole point
Actually Jim Carrey saved Sonic.

RDJ is a perfect example of how people who suffer with addiction shouldn't be abandoned by society. Just because you hit rock bottom doesn't mean you should stay there ❤
Underrated statement right there

@@CaptainWiggy naw drugs is what happen not life. If that's the case then I would have become a drug addict by now but I'm smarter than that cause I don't use life as an excuse to become a horrible drug addicted person. not every addict is like rdj. real addicts might become worse if they get too much money.
Depp killed that role so completely that Jack wordless intro is still considered among the top 5 of epic character intros ever. Just standing up there atop the sail with the wind blowing and looking simply epic for the sake of epic.
… all while his tiny ship is quickly sinking into the ocean, and quite literally bringing him back to earth as he reaches a dock not a second too soon 😂
*Love* how Pratt's role in _The Lego Movie_ is kinda disregarded by the public just because he did _Guardians_ a few months later.

He never needed a “redemption” but these movies just sent his career into a different trajectory

I love The Lego Movie. Literally a part of my childhood. I can still remember leaving the cinema in 2014 after watching it the first time
He didn’t need a comeback? His career was just getting started
I'd also mention Winona Ryder in Stranger Things. She sort of faded into obscurity after the 90s' until a certain Netflix series came along.....
I think that would be in a list of film actors that revived their careers on TV.
She did resurface in the public eye a bit in the early 2000s because she was arrested for shoplifting and I remember tons of people saying that's all she was going to be known for. So yes, she did turn it all around with her role in stranger things!

Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind is such an overrated pile of garbage. Truman show is a masterpiece though. Don't forget Bruce Almighty. For what it was, it was pretty great. And Yes Man. Two very fun and enjoyable movies, not masterpieces like Truman Show but very good.
That was what I wanted to say.... he always made great movies... even better as he went on... always have loved his movie
When they got to number one I was screaming RDJ in my head. I grew up reading Iron Man comics and when I saw they cast him as Iron Man I was not happy. After seeing him as Tony Stark I can only quote good ol Stan Lee "This guy was born to play Tony Stark".
John Travolta absolutely shined with the role of Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction! It was a great performance and great comeback!
Can’t really say that Chris Pratt ‘saved’ his career with Guardians. That was his big break. That’s different.
I still love Andy tho

Yep, not everyone can transition from tv to film. Especially if their first attempts are in films which flop hard and or get railed by critics - like George Clooney and those sexy bat nipples lol.
I agree parks and rec was great
Adam Sandler's career was never in need of saving. He does shitty comedies, but that's what he does. It brings him the money. Uncut Gems just served to remind everyone that he's got dramatic chops.
100% right.
i know, same with jim carrey, he has said multiple times that he hated acting becuase he was so type cast. and hes rich enough to not need more movies
Their will never be a time when a movie destroys adam Sandler's careers
Hahaha yeah it “saved his career” as though he isn’t still one of the highest paid people in Hollywood. Probably got him more respect tho because it was a great performance .
I like his normal movies but Sandler absolutely shines in dramatic roles
Keanu Reeves is my personal favorite turnaround. He starred in so many great action movies, but was always trashed for his acting. Sure enough, he seems like he has a hard time stepping into roles. But when he for some reason was picked up for playing John Wick, everything just clicked. He could finally do the character the way he wanted and seeing an actor get into the role like he did with John Wick is movie magic.
Devil's Advocate was before....and Speed 1.
Jim Carrey was literally the only reason sonic was any good, he can never be replaced
don’t disrespect jim carrey like this, his career didn’t need saving him voluntarily being on hiatus is different
Damn straight. He's a weird unit, no question, but to parade that little snippet of an interview to have it appear as if he's a guy in the midst of a nervous breakdown rather than someone with an unwillingness just to put a sickening 'everything is awesome; smiley face' mask on for the sake of keeping up appearances.. Wish I could better express what I'm trying to get at, but the obligation to make nice and pretend all's well (or interesting/worthwhile) is just poisonous. And on a side note, giving Adam Sandler his due credit in mentioning his dramatic turns as an actor and NOT mention Eternal Sunshine, Man on the Moon, Truman Show is criminal
23 was boyz
Jim Carrey is a comedy legend
I don't think it was disrespectful because if you look at the movies he made before, they were not the Jim we all know and love... This movie was his first in a while that was more familiar to the people and successful
@SharkTank old enough to know when Jim started out and to see the crud he went thru and his mental breakdown...seeing this roll actually was nice. Like he was getting back to his old self. Why do you ask ?

21 Jump Street... Nightmare on Elm Street...
He was in Edward sissorhands?
Great Video! *All of these actors are immensely talented*
Lol why on on earth would you ever consider Liam Neeson, Keanu Reeves and Jim Carreys carriers needed to be saved?
Maybe because their "careers" do need to be saved? After the Matrix franchise, Keanu Reeves didn't starred or had a major role in any blockbusters or box-office hit films. Even if he did starred in any box-office hits, he probably only play a small and forgettable supporting character. John Wick gave him the chance to be a great action film star back. For Jim Carrey, I don't know much about his career. But I'm sure that his film profile isn't good in the 2010s. Sonic and the Hedgehog made the public become interested back in his comedic talent. While for Liam Neeson, he slowed down a little bit after his wife's death. He voiced Aslan in The Chronicles of Narnia but that's only his voice. Taken was his first box-office hit as a leading man for I don't know, more than 10 years?
@@norshimamdtaib8432 Jim carrey is goddamn 59 years old, his career has been amazing. He has been in the movie business for decades. Kristen was forced on such shallow parts, that's the problem. She is incredibly intelligent. She was absolutely incredible in the Panic Room and her young-teen projects.
One recent example: Ke Huy Quan as Waymond Wang in Everything Everywhere All At Once. Before that, he'd only made two major films: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and The Goonies. He'd only acted on and off since then, then he did Everything Everywhere All At Once. And it not only gave him his third big hit after being in retirement for so long, but he's also one of the best parts of that movie. So let's just say he's not just the "Data/Short Round Guy" anymore.
Agreed. Him and Michelle Yeoh were the beating heart of that amazing film
Lets see if he can ride the momentum and do more movies. Same thing with Hayden Christensen hopefully the Obi Wan series brings him back aswell
Robert Downy’s success is the absolutely the best story of all. Well done. Just goes to show you good guys do win.

that might be dumbest argument in earth history...neeson saved by narnia...dont take me wrong- neeson is super overrated in EVERY movie, but that just makes your argument even dumber.i will quote u, thanx
@@dotaplayer6768 Dude, why are you so mad?
@@dotaplayer6768 So you’re saying “Taken” is overrated?
It kinda sucks that Chris Evans’ performance in Scott Pilgrim wasn’t mentioned since that’s one of the major gems of his career in my opinion
He was there?
@@awkwardmagazine7520 Look up his scenes, they’re awesome
didnt know he was in that movie, been a long time since i watch it.
yes but it isn't a role that saved his career
@@anthonybrown4724 But they did show some of his popular works when mentioning his saving grace. I just wish that his Scott Pilgrim performance was one of them
I haven't heard of almost all of these movies but kudos to them!
What a wonderful list
Keatons turn in "The Other Guys", for me brought him back to the comedy top. He returned to form in that film.
“Don’t go chasing waterfalls.” 😂 Seriously though, that is one of my favorite movies and never fails to make me laugh!
"There's a serial rapist in the Crown Heights neighborhood" "Wait, what?"
Love the other guys "I'm a peacock, you got to let me fly!"
Man, and don’t forget all the horrendous things that were done TO and IN Will Ferrell’s Prius! 😂😂 And, “There goes my hero!” Prior to The Rock and Sam Jackson splatting on the pavement! “There wasn’t even an awning!”
The hilarity of saying someone saved their career and then saying they starred in 2019 Charlie's Angels. :D
My Nyuggah, took me 5 seconds to find yo ass :y
Yep, one of the worst pieces of crap to be called a film🤮
Damn that KStew hate is strong
@@cwp4eva I like her, but that movie was ass.
@@cwp4eva The movie was garbage
Ryan Reynolds was always a great actor to me. I loved his way of being sarcastic and rude... And yes, Birdman... Keaton really made that movie amazing, one of the best drama movies I've ever seen.
RDJ was amazing as Charlie Chaplin. I was happy to see him recover from his problems and make that comeback.
The title feels like a big mislead here. Like a lot of these actors were comfortably choosy and taking roles whenever they wanted them and not on a need basis. "Saved" seems like a strong word
I agree. But what is a better title? A majority of these actors did make a lot of money. But most of their films are cheesy romantic comedies or forgettable action films that do not really resonate well with critics and audiences. The so-called "career-saving performance" did save their career by convincing film critics and some audience that they can give a good performance or starring in a good film.
Liam Neeson was an action star before Taken - he was Darkman and Rob Roy, he was in Gangs of New York, besides the films that you did mention. He's a big guy who is often cast in action roles for his physical presence. But he's versatile enough to handle drama and romantic comedy. His star has never really waned.
He was in Batman and friggin Star Wars before Taken as Iconic characters.
Thanks to POTC I did start to learn about Johnny Depp and since them are trying to find movies like these to watch and there are many of them. Great movies all of them :P
Super Oscar snub for Sandler. Uncut Jems was a surprise gem
I can't be the only one who was annoyed by how she said carribean 😂
I cringe every time someone pronounces it this way, way back when "Epic Movie" came out I thought they were pronouncing it that way in the song as a joke. I was wrong, people say it this way 😂😭
I can say most people say it this way. But you should know that there is a big difference in british and american pronounciation. She speaks american english.
Putting the emphasis on the antepenultimate syllable is entirely acceptable.
Thats how you're supposed to say it
I was thinking finally, someone who says it right
Chris Pratt career was just beginning . How tf does he belong in this list
He doesn't belong here at all. He never "lost" his fame or reputation in the way others on this lost did.
hes an overrated asshole.
watch Shia in Honey Boy if you want to see some real acting.
@@Scorch428 how?
@@dimitrijames00001 I second this question
Sounds like comic book movies are the secret to success. Please keep making them. We need to save more careers. 😉
Bette Davis and Joan Crawford in “What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?” definitely should’ve gotten a mention. Revitalized the diminishing careers of those two aging Hollywood “sweethearts” and even invented a new genre of horror at the time.
Am I the only person who came here bcz of Jim Carey in the thumbnail???
Nope I'm here because of both of them
Im here cause Adam Sandler is my hero
No you’re not
Actually, I came because of the role Jim Carrey was playing.
Damn right.
RDJ made Kiss Kiss Bang Bang before Ironman. IMO that was his comeback role. I seem to recall hearing that Favreau picked him for the role because of that part. I'll try to source that, not 100%.
I agree, in a way for a time you could almost put Val Kilmer in that category too because of that movie... but he also wasted the opportunity unlike Robert.
KKBB is a cult favorite, but Ironman was MADE for RDJ. Few actors have better fitting roles than that. Like De Niro/Pesci as a mob gangster, or Hopkins as Lecter.
He did a couple movies before Iron Man. People just like to spotlight Iron Man, because they're obsessed with the role.
I was about to write the same!
Keanu Reeves has always been a mega star
With the new Batman, this aged well 👏
