36 EXTREMELY CLEVER CAMPING HACKS
Spring is a time to relax in nature. When it's warm outside, the sun is shining, the trees are blooming - I want to go on a picnic or into the forest with tents. My tips will help you organize a comfortable outdoor recreation. After all, so many unpleasant things can spoil the mood: annoying insects, rain, wet matches, wet shoes, and much more.
So that mosquitoes do not bite you in the forest, I will show you how to make an insect trap. Make a solution of water and sugar and pour it into a cut plastic bottle. To make a camping washbasin, use a plastic bottle and syringe. To make a camping shower, use a hula-hoop and shower curtain. To make windproof matches, wrap them with toilet paper and string and dip into hot paraffin.
Plan snacks, breakfasts, lunches and dinners for your next backpacking trip with my helpful tips. I’ll show you how to make a campsite fire pit. See also how to make a spoon from a plastic bottle, how to pack eggs on a trip, how to keep drinks cold by making a cooler bag, and how to wash the dishes on the hike.

I think this video did an excellent job of showing one the possibilities.; planting the seed, if you were. Now it's up to the audience to use, discard, or modify the hacks to fit their needs. Personally, I see quite a few of these that I can use at home. And above all, she was kind enough to share it with us. I for one, am grateful.
these never get old.... thanks.
The hack for transporting eggs is good - you can freeze them this way. If you are doing egg dishes with cheese or flavors like tomatoes or onions or ham or mushrooms you can add to the egg mix and then there is no need to chop up at the campsite. Transport flour, or rice, or polenta (cornmeal), or dried beans, or oats this way as well
We learned alot of these in scouts, the coffee can stove using a can opener to make holes, the bunsen burner, the soap in the nylon
nice job making a little hobo camp stove and lighting it directly on dry grass
Hahahahaha! Thats how you do it right. It makes a bigger fire on those chilly nights.
Aww, it wouldn't be a real urban camping trip w/o a visit from the FD
Finally! I'm always getting stuck with food that I've completely cooked and no spoon but access to a finished two litre.
And a knife. Just drink up
Adorable muffin who actually performs the demonstrations
It’s amazing. Great ideas . Thanks for sharing.I learn a lot from this video
1:21 Skippy peanut butter jar work better as it's water proof
Watched ten minutes of it when I realized I already watched it, dang it!
How much iQ do you have
I like the reflectix in a cooler idea. With mine I bought a small styrofoam cooler 1/2 inch thick for 4 bucks. I cut it in several pieces to the exact size of the interior of cooler including the top and bottom. Then I cut the reflectix like they did in video. I put the foam next to the inside of cooler and put the reflectix on top of that. I taped all the seams with aluminum tape so I wouldn't get leakage and mold. At 4 days I still had ice. At 7 days the ice had melted but the temp of sandwich meat was only 50 degrees. This was in low dew point weather but it was still 78 to 81 degrees. I also did this to start my campfire. I took cotton balls and put a coating of petroleum jelly on them and put them in a ziploc bag. This camping hacks video that has several things I could do because almost all the items needed I already have in the house.
I'm still laughing at the one square of tp camper. Lol!
Heidi Ullrich: This is going to sound gross, but as a child my father told me about that. He said that’s what the military taught the GI’s. One square. Fold it into a triangle, then fold it into a triangle again. The corner where the points meet would be ripped off. Then unfold, stick finger thru hole and wipe. When done, pull finger back thru hole thereby cleaning finger. That little corner that was first tore off....that was to clean under the finger nail. I thought he was joking, but if you google “ how to wipe with one piece of toilet paper”, you’ll find the how to videos. 🤦♂️🙄
Good video ,don't know bout music though
And the pants down around ankles.
This video can not only be good for camping but for storms to lot of. great full tips thanks instead of doubt it learn from it
Some great ideas. Unfortunately, most of the starting tools are from things we do not use in my house (plastic pop bottles, hypodermic needles, etc.). But really, some great ideas. I already have products to help with most of the things mentioned (like the egg carrier you can even find in Walmart's camping section), but the camp washing machine was a hoot, as was the hula-hoop shower.
I live in a poor neighborhood so finding used plastic pop bottles and hypodermic needles is never a problem
Absolutely brilliant!!!!!
Genius!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Forgot the first aid kit for when she cuts her fingers off with these scalpels and tin cutters.
haha good point
Great ideas thanks for the dope tips!! 🔥🖤🔥
parabéns. amazing....
Awesome thank you, great info!!
I already use the sponge trick 🧽 Insted of squizing the last shampoo/soap out, just leave it there for your next shower 🚿 saves you money.
Syck! Awesome stuff👍

You should allow the hot water to cool (about 20 minutes) before adding the yeast to the mosquito trap. Otherwise, the hot water will kill the yeast, making the trap ineffective.
next time I'm camping I'll have to remember to pack yeast. Perhaps near the pasta maker
That common camping essential, good old yeast! 🤪
Well, that and saffron of course
I love your ideas. You are awesome!
Very clever, loved them all.
Coollll... my goodness you taught some newww tricks ... I thank you so much for that. Keep it moving...
Loved the video!!!! Thanks!!!!
The method of keeping matches in the small lidded jar is a good way to make a glass-schrapnel grenade.
Thank God im not the only one who thought that!
Amen! Not to mention that big, heavy glass jars are always preferable to put things in for camping that started out in tiny containers that weigh nothing.
Clever. Would that defo work? What a wally I would appear if I tried it and it failed. Am camping in my garden at the moment due to a very very annoying neighbour...
A lot of great tips. thanks!
Like the wax matches idea
I really liked the rope harness you made for the bucket, that is indeed a handy thing to learn.
Ya but she went so fast with the rope instructions I didn't understand what to do
The first one...lol after ten hours you kill six bugs
The toilet paper dispenser is the most practical hack here! Roughing it is one thing but getting a piece of toilet paper from a roll without a dispenser is where I draw the line!
3:45 why you need a spoon when you can drink it
Τέλεια τα συστήματα και οι πατεντες μπράβο πάντως.
Haha! This person has so much junk along. They'll be like,"what trail, I'm just getting out my handy ____"
As a maladroit blind to spatial mechanics, I can only say: WOW.
Wow, so many great ideas! Thank you
Emergency spoon 😂🤣 Just drink the soup!!
Thank you
Cutting that perfect hole in the side of the can was not just a hack it was downright sorcery!
Really great idea 😀❤️❤️
Amazing you have a nice skillet and tin shears, but you forgot the portable stove...
I'd bring it with me. This isn't backpacking you may have a basic tool kit in your trunk. If you don't have metal shears then you are lacking.

The toilet paper was funny. My ass needs more than one piece 😅
Lex: if you want to laugh, look up Military one piece toilet paper. You’ll get the idea. Lol

The sous vide omelet was pretty awesome.
The outdoor shower curtain hack wasn't too bad. Just glue some magnets or Velcro to the ends so it stays shut
Every negative comment is exactly what's wrong wit this world. Don't you people ever get sick of hearing yourselves. These are things you make before going camping, if you so choose to. Geniuses
So, how many campers actually do any of these? The impracticality amazes me. :-)
I like the outdoor shower idea.
Egg boxes are also handy for travel.
But now you have options.
Hence "also" 👍
Very smart Lady and good looking as well
Umm need to go old school camping hacks like using Mother Nature to survive that’s the way to really survive
A couple good ideas but so much busy work!
Better learn what leaves to use in case you have to do it for an extended period of time. That paper will run out quick... The bucket washing machine is better if make and use two more buckets. One with holes in it and the other for rinsing the clothes...
Even better if you use the ones with coin holes, like when you drive to town and go to the laundromat
Used to make waterproof fire starters out of corrugated cardboard coiled up inside of a cleaned tuna can and filled with melted paraffin. It's waterproof and supports starting a fire even with wet wood.
Sensational very good tips.
You can also use a church key to make the vent holes in the can.
kickin it OL Skool..
Great vids great ideas thanku
I like what you do what you do is a maze thanks for sharing
Get it .Great Video's
Many beneficial things. ty
Love your hacks! pretty cool ideas.
Now you've just got to find the perfect landfill to camp in.
A camping spot that looks like a landfill? That means Mejicans have been there.
Bantamdude Rodriguez 😂😂😂
Nah, I can find most of that stuff lying around in 'wilderness' areas
Or the top of Mt. Everest
5:30 the sleeve getting wet gave me so much unnecessary anxiety
Mel Rose I was with it until exactly that moment...

Thank You Very good
As a camper and DIYer I think there's some actual useful stuff here. I wonder how long the opened eggs will keep.
I tried this and the eggs tasted funny
Cool when i brake my purple bucket i hauled out to the woods....oh yeah !!! the bic !!!!
Learned more than half of these in my "Hints from Heloise" book 30 years ago.
Some tips are really good. Some are really DANGEROUS. Hyperdermic needles and razor blades? What is it with using needles for craft projects?
Very useful ideas!
Totally awesome! I love these hacks! I'm goina try a few! Thank you for posting! 👍👍😀
Gotta few morons below...lol...my my...y'all must be some city dwellers. Well, listen up chumps, these hacks are GREAT for us "off-grid, prepper/survivalists as well! AND in the city, shit can hit the fan also, so be smart like Macgyver or you can just sit there with your thumbs up your asses staring at 4 walls wondering when the electric will come back on! 😗 Suck on that thought for a minute...👊
Yeah because I often go camping with a varying size of cans, a hula hoop and a shower curtain and syringes 🤔
Shaun Donnelly 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That coke can had alot of sharp edges. U don't want to get a bad cut out in the middle of nowhere.
When I want to go camping for a few days, my free days are over before I made all this junk.
Love that hoola hoop shower curtain and stove idea. Need tin snip though. How long does that can candle last? One burn? Careful cooking in plastic baggie.
Anyone remember using saw dust, melted wax, on egg cartons for fire starters during girl scouts.
Who brings all that stuff whilst low budget camping?? A hoolahoop, a plunger, a shower curtain? Who?? 🤣
Who says "whilst" anymore? This isn't the 1700's.
Dorin Riki don’t be hatin’ bc you don’t have the ‘nads to say “ whilst” 😂 there are a lot of people in the UK that still say it...troll on somewhere else 🙄🤦♀️😉😂🤣
I believe you might have missed the point. The 'hula hoop was used, IMHO, to give you the idea for using Mother Natures' tree branches as the 'hoop'.
Hahahaha you said it best. And got to take advantage of the word "whilst."
@@dorinriki Egads! You are correct.
And the fire extinguisher, when her home-made stove, set on dry grass, catches the forest on fire.
Sad indeed
I use ad 20 gauge shell and a 12 gauge empty shell for keeping matches dry
Wow such useful hacks 😊😊 nice hacks
Amazing 👍👍👍
Lovely
Very clever with the matches! I carry 3 BIC lighters. AND some matches. And one small road flare in the winter in case I need to absolutely, positively start a fire FAST. I would not EVER break eggs before taking them on a journey. In fact, they're good for a few hours out of the fridge if cooked right away, but once cracked, things begin growing in them rapidly. As for palm-sized water bottles, they're perfect for dish soap - no leaks. Gatorade bottles are perfect for storing all sorts of food items. As for the can in a can twig stove, consider using a drill: Drill six large (1/2 inch) holes around the upper edge of the larger can while drilling six small holes in the sides near the base. On the slightly smaller can, drill six small holes in the sides around the base as well. Fill the smaller can with twigs and a dash of methanol. Place into large can and light. Place water pot on can. Control the airflow with a small circle of aluminum foil around the bottom holes in the smaller can. On the makeshift cooler (red), the aluminum needs to be facing outward to reflect the heat back to the outside.
For those that are not skilled at building SUSTAINABLE fires: Butane lighters and a bottle of hand sanitizer, some drier lint and LOTS of dry kindling and tinder to get you going. However much of each wood you think you need...triple that at minimum. For those of us that know how to PROPERLY build a fire, there’s nothing more satisfying than a “one match fire build” And matches are for nostalgia. Love using them, but don’t bet your wet, hypothermic butt on them. Always bring MULTIPLE fire starting sources.
@@jerryglass6556 I just started using fire steel, it is pretty satisfying and will always spark. I keep meaning to make a bow drill set, any day now.
I Love yu CAMPING HACKS🤩
Cool thanks
Omg,Right Off The Bat..Like Everyone Takes Brown Sugar and Yeast Camping😂
Awesome 👏 👍
Some of these arent useful. Why would i inject soap in a sponge. Just bring soap
Wow you totally changed my thinking of plastics 😃😃😃😃😃
The omelette trick is great, if you like to eat heated plastic
Good job. !
The can stove works. Only get to use it 4 or 5 times, before the bottom burns out. Good in a pinch, though.
Tin shears are not a usual camping tool.
For you maybe lol.
It's really nice
Good idea 👍👍
