  • Grew up in Alberta. I worshipped buffalo, and used to thrill to the thought of hundreds of them stampeding across the plain.The sound would make you think the earth was opening up!

    • elk island is a magical place. I still get chills when I see a wild herd. how many times have you seen the scene in dances with wolves? for me it's about a thousand. I am hoping to make a trip to wood buffalo park next summer, maybe I'll get lucky and see a herd thundering across a bald.

  • Been going all over Yellowstone since I was a kid.....have seen some wild fights between bison, and elk, especially during rut. The males are so hyped up, they get mad if the wind blows wrong lol.

  • These magnificent creatures are incredibly powerful. What a thrilling display! Those bison bulls are easily 1600 lbs or more each, & capable of flipping a pickup truck. I'll never understand why tourons think they can just walk right up to one & take a selfie.
