  • I love all of the DTTV channels. But this is my favorite. Especially the long form videos. The go immediately on my nighttime playlist. And get listened to over and over again.

  • The universe cannot have a purpose. Gary Larson did a comic strip called THE FAR SIDE a long time ago and there was a joke where 2 scientists did a complex math equation to figure out the purpose of the universe and at the very end it said equals zero. The thing about "purpose" is that whenever something has a purpose the purpose always serves something greater than itself. For example you could say that the purpose of your blood is to keep you alive but if you told someone that the purpose of their body was to provide a container to hold their blood you would sound insane. Since nothing could be more important than the universe there is nothing greater than the universe for the universe to serve, hence it cannot have a purpose.

    • Yeah, at this point it can't be anything besides just a giant, beautiful thing of nothing. Empty space, blank, black piece of paper with a bunch of compressed gas in it making these beautiful stars and planets.

  • How exactly does sunlight break down nitrogen into methane?? Nitrogen is a chemical element and can’t break down into anything. Methane is a carbon and 4 hydrogens.

  • 'Gliese 581 is 1000 lightyears from Earth, about 1000 times further than our sun'. That means the sun is 1 light-year away? The sun is 8 light minutes away from earth, not 1 light-year. You then go on to say the star system is only 20 lightyears from ours.... Make your mind up! Am I hearing this wrong? Someone please explain 😂😂
