In this video I restore / fix-up an old rusty blacksmiths hammer, The original handle was split and too short, so i made the new handle slightly longer and thicker, The new handle is made from beech and the wedge is white oak.

No music. No commentary. Just noises from the shop. A man after my own heart.
I like to have a bit of music playing sometimes but I cant have music on in the video as KZhead will "have" me for copyright infringement. Thanks for the comment & Thanks for watching, ED
Sweet vise. Love those old bolt thru jaws.
Its probably my most used tool, It gets used every time I go into the workshop and it has taken some abuse but it is still as good as the day it was made,(besides the paint) unlike a lot of modern imported junk available nowadays. I got it from a local auction for £5, It is probably the best £5 I have ever spent.
Nice work, Ed. I restored old hammer that was my grand Mum's. Doesn't look like newer hammers but means a lot to me.
I prefer older hammers over newer ones, I think they are better made. You can get some good ones but they come with hefty price tags. I bought a newer hammer recently and the head came off after 2 days of light work, so i think i will stick with older ones from now on. Thanks for watching ED
