For a bit I actually thought Zelda wanted the Master Sword. I was like "It belongs to the kingdom, Zelda can just take it." It didn't click with me until I saw Purah surrounded by Valentine's Day gifts.

That created a headcanon in my mind that Link was always so super popular and too focused in the knight path and mastering his skills that he never understood why on 14th of February SO MANY people would give him too much candy / chocolate that a normal Hylian wouldn't be able to eat it all but since he is Link and he is a gluton he would devour it all in a few days and since he knows that mostly everyone must know that he's a foodie he just considered that people were kind to him on that day and gifting sweets and food is part of the part of the commemoration of the day
