I Spend 100 Days in Hardcore Minecraft`s latest version 1.20 on a Survival island. Here`s what happened. A mostly Beach island, the challenge was to spend 100 days on this island in Hardcore mode.

I Survived 100 Days in Hardcore Minecraft and here is what happened. Not Modded Minecraft. No Mods. Not Speedrunner Vs Hunter, More like Survivalist Vs Hunter but to the extreme. Skyblock, One Block, UHC/Ultrahardcore none of these. Just Hardcore Minecraft.

22:34 the shield glitch happens when you hold up your shield when entering a nether portal and only let go after you start loading into the nether. It usually persists until you use the shield again, letting you run and jump at full speed whilst still shielded

@@DJBSS He did take wood with him, he literally explained it. In the update bamboo blocks can be used as a wood type (apparently), so he brought wood. He didn't do a challenge anyways at that point because you don't spawn in survival with anything to begin with.

Are we not going to talk about the Shipwreck also had moss? Which when bonemealed can give Azalea? He also could've had wood from the start. provided he had dirt. I could mention a couple other things, like ruined portal chests containing a chance of golden apples, and the fact he picked up a seed right as he said he wasn't going to but I digress.

Okay...turtle eggs require you to stay within 100 blocks of them for 3 minecraft days and nights. At least on bedrock version. Yes, you have to stay awake 3 nights. I had to look it up myself, and I tried it. It worked.

As a moss fanatic I’m mildly upset that he didn’t grab it from the shipwreck seeing as it gives you oak would and possibly apples. Also I know everyone’s said this already but golden apples in the nether! They’re not that uncommon

Probably already 200 comments on it, but for turtle eggs , they need to be on sand (check), you need to be within loading area (check) and they will only make a progression towards hatching if you stay awake for most of the night. I think you skipped that part too much to have them hatch

I love these kinds of play throughs. My favorite is single biome ocean. Most of the time it plops you down in the water with no land in site. There are small specs of land here and there and getting wood from a shipwreck is your only hope. That is if it's not too deep. Unfortunately, you have to go back to 1.16.2 to play it. If you do single biome ocean now, you spawn on land with no animals or villages. It is still really cool as the ruins and shipwrecks generate on land.

I have so many questions like : 1- why didn't you took the moss block ? it could've been a good source for new blocks, trees, bone meal. 2-why on earth didn't u make a mob farm...it would've made things so much easier in the start 3-the nether got many things u could've used such as wood, food, leather, and more and that's all just in the beginning of the game

22:30 This is a glitch that happens if you hold up your shield when going through a nether portal. the shield still deflects but you can walk and sprint normally.

The reason you blocked the shots with your shield down is because if you enter the nether with your shield up the game thinks you still have it up while also letting you not crouch while doing so. At least, I think. It may have been a new bug because the one i'm talking about might ave been fixed.
This is Java edition, you don't crouch while using a shield here. That's only on Bedrock. You are right about the glitch though, just holding up your shield when entering the nether causes the game to think it's always up, while still allowing you to sprint and move around at normal speed.

Dig out sand until there's stone revealed, blow up a creeper above the stone so it drops cobblestone and then use the sticks from the dead bushes to craft stone tools

In my opinion, the bamboo makes it seem like having it's the only way to survive this challenge while in reality, you can survive the challenge without the bamboo, as using the same world map as in the video would still get you wood and food, plus the fish in the sea would also provide a food source, as well as bonemeal if you don't feel like using a fishing rod. The bamboo just makes this challenge too easy...
You are 100% correct, him starting with the bamboo to me invalidates this challenge. Thats not survival if you get to decide what item you start with, that's you starting in creative to give an advantage when you're marketing the video in a whole different way.
@@redwart2040I did it without the bamboo. It was easy because there was a sunken ship and a drowned monument for copper and rods which got me mending and sticks. Not to mention the moss and azalea got me going from day 2 (had to wait for skeletons while hiding).

Yes, and you set it up as surviving on an island with nothing despite the fact you gave yourself one bamboo, thus setting you up for a success chain which negates everything missing from the island. In short, you gave yourself a source of wood to start with. Snark aside, this does show off the functionality of Bamboo in the upcoming update well.

The reason why you game crashed a little when opening the chest in second shipwreck is because the chest had a treasure map and if there is no buried treasure nearby it’s causes the game to lag when opening the chest and causes the map to become a normal map 👍
I have never seen an explanation for this phenomena before. I always wondered why the game would lag super hard even though I have a decent PC.
That glitch is so annoying, I hate it so much, but I could maybe make a mod that patches this in the future!
Thanks for the explanation. I met the same problem in 1.20.1. Another glitch is that i got several same treasure map with different id number.

I feel like this challenge is only really a challenge for the first few days and then it becomes normal Minecraft, just on an island.
I think its really hard to find a difficult challenge, most are doable after the first few days. I actually think one of the most difficult ones is completing Minecraft in peaceful mode. 😳

So I might be stupid but, how did he get bamboo to begin with? We didn't see him retrieving it, it was just magically in the inventory
You actually could have gotten apples, and using an event you demonstrated yourself in the video- When the pillagers spawned and gave you bad omen, you could trigger a raid as your Nitwit and house would count as a village if you added a job site for a villager (I believe it will still count even if the villager can't actually USE the job site, but maybe I'm wrong). As a result, the spawned pillagers would drop emeralds, and a pretty decent number of them, which you could use to buy an oak sappling from a wandering trader.
"I won't get this extra obsidian because I can't get leather" immediately goes to the nether, where there's leather aplenty.

Haven....for future survival series, dead bushes can become sticks if you hit them... But then again after rethinking a bit yeah nevermind, you still needed the old snapshot to make the crafting table anyways lol

if you have ur shield up when you go through the nether portal, the shield visually is down, but the shield acts like if it was up. it also works if you hold it up while you're coming back to the overworld. and now you know(it has been in the game since something like 1/2 years)

When you spawn on an island, kelp is your friend. Free fuel and free food.
Maybe the turtle enclosure was too small for them to grow ... Just like when you can't put stuff too close to saplings maybe that's the same with turtles

He got so lucky. Because if he made this video a bit later, he would have to find bastions just to get these new armor temlates to turn his armor to netherite. New way to turn diamond armor into netherite is horrible, but these new ones ehich make your armor shinier are so cool.
IMO netherite should he harder to get, but something is not right with the template
Here’s a tip, when you made the Rick and motet reference, you could’ve used a block of coal instead of a stack. It’s much more fuel efficient

6:25 and moss blocks. Bone mealing moss blocks gives you azalea bushes, and bone mealing those gives you azalea trees (which'll drop more bushes as saplings).

This video was such a throwback to survival island mods of early Minecraft. Your enchantment setup looks just like mine! I just put a chest where your anvil is. Turtle eggs has a chance to crack 3 times before hatching, which has a higher chance of happening around *dawn.* You could _sleep right after a crack_ to prevent phantoms. Also, 🎶Melooooons!🎶
If you make the villager a librarian, he'll give you a few emeralds for paper, which can be made with, you guessed it, SUGARCANE.

idk if it was said yet but the eggs needed to be exposed to moonlight, so by covering them you made them not hatch haha maybe im wrong but i think thats true anyway. if you were sleeping at night it affects the rate at which they grow, too. and apparently you also need to be within a certain amount of blocks so there were a few factors but i think it was the wall above the eggs mostly.
It literally hurt me when you didn’t take the moss! The pain, the agony!

22:30 It is a known glitch. When you enter the Nether Portal while activating your shield, the game is tricked into thinking that you are still holding it up after you teleported, hence still blocking the attacks. That glitch will stop when you eat (in Minecraft)

Props for just deciding to screw it and go back a snapshot to get the crafting table. Sometimes in these videos creators got to just force it through regardless if it broke self imposed rules.

Pro tip : You can cover the island with dirt and then passive mobs will start to spawn on it. Including sheep and cow.

the shield glitch was discovered in 1.19 iirc- you need to have it up when entering the nether for it to work
