    • One of the theories I heard (from a PsyShow Psych video) is that cute aggression is a way for your brain to try to calm yourself down. Basically when you find something so cute you can't stand it, your brain goes "Okay buddy you need to chill out by... wanting to squeeze it." Basically just a weird quirk in our brains that was probably a lot more useful when we were hunter/gatherers, but in modern times kinda makes us go "WTH is wrong with me!"

  • I love what I saw as a play on words for that short. 包子 (baozi) or shortened "bao" is obviously the name of the food in the short. However, I just sat there thinking "Her 包 (bao) is her little 宝宝 (baobao)" with "baobao" being "baby". Then when it turned out to be her son it just made the whole thing so much sweeter. Also, I love making bao at home. However I make taco baos which is not traditional at all. If something can be eaten as a sandwich, with a tortilla, or paired with a dinner roll I'll try to stuff it in the bao and see how it goes.

  • I am going to use Grand biscuit dough and bake my Ghetto Bao tonight 😂 I'll let y'all know how that works out, I am actually Rewatching this so I seal these bad bishes correctly 😅. Also I think I may do a couple different flavors like a Taco Bao, cheeseburger Bao, Ramen & beef Bao.... UPDATE: I make these frequently, I have done a breakfast one, a few different southwestern inspired.. They are a favorite here. I suggest going for the name brand Grands over store brand, the taste and texture is Far superior, but both are delicious. I bake mine only because I have no way to steam them now, but my husband Loves taking these to work the next day, and 1 tube of biscuits is Not enough for 2 people, I suggest a tube per adult person because they are that good. The best part is you can stuff it with ANYTHING, Just be careful with the liquid content, I have had bao butts bust and spill juices 🙄. It did happen less with the name brand biscuits, but the more liquid created during cooking the higher likelihood of them having a blow out, also try to leave the bottom a bit thicker, I think out the edges kinda like hand tossing pizza then put my filling in the middle then close it.

It's probably because our mother wasn't gentle neither was our father. We did however love our morhers cooking and I'm not sure i can speak speak for my sister but I loved watching my mother cook. I especially loved the joy on her face when she could tell you loved the food! It's the reason I became a chef.

  • I remember Almira😂😂 Yum! This recipe looks great. I wonder if you were meant to add all the water in the dough though. Adding the extra water would be sticky at first, but the flour would soak up all the water and becomes a really soft dough. Just a pondering thought, not a criticism.

    • You should just request them from the restaurant. It would be a simple matter for them to buy them frozen and steam them up if they weren't willing to do so themselves. Better yet, head to the Asian markets and buy the frozen ones yourself.

  • I never knew there was actually a term called 'cute aggression' I thought I was crazy all these years. I'll grit my teeth when I'm petting a cute animal because I just want to squeeze them so hard but I'll grit my teeth instead. Omg that sounds insane but I guess there are some people that know what I mean.
