With 2.5 days to hunt Erik embarks on yet another weekend warrior mule deer edition hunt - only this time headed to Colorado. Unlike most of our hunts, this hunt is on private land and is a part of the Ranches For Wildlife Program that gives back to conversation. Early November with no weather, pre-rut and thousands of elk make for an interesting combination for trying to find a shooter buck. Be sure to leave us a comment & subscribe. More videos to come!

That green truck is the coolest part of that video.
nice buck. You got a bit lucky that you dropped him with that shot though. Could have been ugly. Is there no way you couldn't have closed the distance for a more ethical shot?
Not a perfect shot, no, but it killed him quickly. Thanks for watching.
@@MuleyFreak I was being polite whan I wrote that I guess. I watched it again. Get closer. Those majestic animals deserve better than a bunch of yahoos taking pot shots at them from such distances.
Almost missed him! Great buck.
That's Craig Colorado right there, my home town. I recognized the red truck and the buildings at the beginning of the video.
Bad hit. Yikes. Just except that as a mistake and I don't judge. One thing that has helped me a lot is shooting several long range steel shoots through the spring and summer. That would have been a miss at any Target on any distance range I've ever been to. However, Congratulations on a beautiful mule deer.
Awesome video and awesome buck Erik!!
Nice video and Buck...congrats! Just be careful with CO Hunter orange requirements. Also requires hunter orange hat and orange camo does not count....kind dumb but is what it is. Can even wear pink now days...amazing.
Nice video and great buck congrats!
Thank you for the kind words Brody, we appreciate it!
Thanks man!
Awesome buck!
Thanks for watching!
😂 Im diggin the ol forest service hoopty. Lol
That truck is sick, yeah!?
That's a beautiful deer dude!!
Thanks!
Erik Van Woerkom no bro thank you for continuing to put these out. They seem to get me through the crappy part of the year (you know where we aren't hunting haha). y'all do some good work!
Looks like there impact was mid way back, on the spine?
Little back, yes. The buck died quickly.
I grew up in craig!!
“I told you I could shoot, bro”. You’ve got no idea what you’re doing. 2” higher and you would’ve missed completely. Never mind the fact that you were closer to the hip joint than the vitals. Embarrassing.
Tyler. I'm sorry you feel the need to put others down as opposed to building them up. I wish you the best this upcoming season.
Muley Freak you’ve got no business shooting that far. Plenty of people do, you just aren’t one of them. Dial it back, or spend some time at the range.
@@tylerschneible584 agreed, learn to actually hunt and get three hundred yards or less! there is a big difference between hunting and shooting.
@@montejones2890 No, there's not. Don't philosophize the practice into something it's not. We're killing animals. This short-range bullshit is either a rationale for incompetence or a righteousness complex. Leave virtue signaling to the crazy liberals.
I might have a shed off this buck from that spring.
Really!?
@@MuleyFreak I’m not positive but it sure looks like it. If I remember right it’s just short of hitting the 90” mark.
Orange hat and vest.
Public land hunting👍private land is just shooting🤔😳😔
There's no shame in hunting private, Ethan.
Ruined the back straps...what are you bragging about?
There was a little wind un accounted for, yes. Back straps were perfect. Thanks for asking! We appreciate you subbing to the channel. We need more positive critics like yourself. ;)
@@MuleyFreak back straps were perfect? Not only a bad shot but a liar too boot. You don't give ethical hunters a good name. C'mon man, do good hunters a big favor and clean up your act!
@@michaelbroadhead8155 LOL. I love haters like you! Not only were you there it sounds like, but you know better than we. Let's instead try to focus on building others up instead of tearing others down by name-calling and back biting. Use this time in the world to refocus your thoughts and see how you can do good, maybe help your neighbors, or otherwise build others up. That has been our focus...how can we become better husbands, fathers, brothers, neighbors, and hunters. How can we not only perfect ourselves as human beings but also hunters and gathers. How can we make a better KZhead channel. All of these things are a work in progress. Each and every day we wake up, every hunt we go on we try to get better. If any of us were perfect we wouldn't be on earth, but we are here to strive to be better and improve each and every day. If you're going to be negative maybe this isn't the channel for you, Michael. Wish you all the health through this pandemic and godspeed.
@@MuleyFreak great advice. YOU should listen to it. I'm fine with myself.
Never become complacent, brother. There room for all of us to get better and improve! Cheers.
when your talking craig dont forget meth! tweakerville USA
LOL
Killed a lot of deer in that area
Great place to hunt! Bet you got some studs down!
@@MuleyFreak yessir I did
