Ill always have a fond memory of this car. It was a rainy saturday in fall at 12:00, and my mom stopped at a starbucks on my way too a soccer game, and i saw a maserati GranTurismo pull in. i asked if i could take a picture, and he let me sit in the car and rev the engine. 9 year old me couldnt have been happier. If that dude is out there somewhere, thanks man ❤

First time I've ever heard someone say they don't like how this car looks. One of the best looking cars ever imo. I just wish it was better dynamically and interior wise.
Everyone needs to think ofwhat the buyer is wanting this car for. Most have extremely low milages for their age as they are drivers cars not a daily for the masses. Most of the other cars he listed are so boring and pedestrian with no charracter and plenty of ZZZ's. Please give up posting your reviews as they are simply about you and not the car. Ideally Maserati would have been better not to put in the questionable tech and made a better lighter raw sportier car that still exuded luxury, syyle and performance without tech distractions. People dont get these cars to have tech but to turn heads and make a statement and that they do netter then any Merc, Porshe, BMW, Audi pr whoever else you want to list.

I bought a 2017 GT yesterday and I’m in awe of how beautiful it is and how nice and fun it is to ride. Too early to tell but so far, I’m totally in love with this car!
I love the old school nature of this car. Hell, it still has a key even. Personally, after driving all the digitized new cars, the n/a motor, hydraulic steering, physical shift linkeage, simple interior and lack of driving aids make it quite enjoyable

It never ceases to amuse me how Doug's styling preferences are the polar opposite of mine. While yes, this car is pretty bad compared to the competition, I think it's one of the most aesthetically pleasing exteriors ever made.
I find the styling to be timeless although someone might compare it to a relatively bland Tesla model S that has all the personality of a streamliner in order to eke out the last 15% of efficiency that you can somehow never quite charge the battery to. At least NASCAR has stickers to cover up the ugly blank expanse of sheet metal and I think Mercedes and BMW give their EVs a bit more character with the same treatment
People by Mopar for the engine and not the interior.
One of these was parked next to me, today. I was amazed at how beautiful it is, I believe it was the 2019 model. I have a 2006 VW GTI, so I was very surprised that an exotic was parked next to me. It’s a nice size car with very beautiful lines, and carbon fiber accents in all the right places; sexy, like a beautiful woman. Big P Big P Modern-wise, but not overall. Maserati started off making very successful race cars pre-WWII, and then started to make absolutely gorgeous road cars after the war. Their post-war race cars were driven by guys like Carroll Shelby, Juan Manuel Fangio, and Sir Stirling Moss. They used to be an amazing brand. It saddens me to see them like this.
This is one of the most beautiful cars ever Especially in blue
@ Dennis Gypsy - good call. I own one of these in a Blue "Sofisticado" and it is everything the name implies. It's a stunning looking color for this car. I was lucky enough to go to the Maserati factory in Modena a few years ago and took away some brochures, and it caught my eye that the car that is used in Maserati's own corporate advertising was in that same blue that I later bought.
Especially the Grancabrio blue
That old school and super basic interior design is very appealing to me…to me it sounds like less stuff to break or more pure enjoyment of being in a sports car

I have a 2015 MC. I have to agree on some things.... I had to ignore the incredibly bad displays, weird lack of cameras, lack of easy audio, roller wheel heated seats at first. There are so many odd things about the MC at the price point but there is what matters.....DRIVING THIS CAR! It roars to life from a cold start, it corners on rails, it growls with its famous throaty exhaust, and in the end it's just fun to drive. Opening up an MC on a country road? Priceless. People love this car and most don't even know what it is. You drive somewhere in the city and often you hear someone yell "Masi!" It's a beautiful car. It certainly has some very odd features that I laughed at when I first bought it. Now I could care less and I just enjoy driving the hell out of the thing.

I was introduced to this car in Gran Turismo 5. One of my favorite cars in the game. Always saw it like James Bond style car, which is funny, because I'm certain Top Gear said "if James Bond were Italian, he'd drive it."
I have a 2006 GranSport 4.2 V8. It’s been missed with Larini decats, Tubi exhaust, Firmula Dynamics Drive by wire, ECU tune, lowering springs and beefier sway bars. This car is an animal…for how heavy it is. People fail to realize is that this is a GT and NOT a Sports car. These cars are built for high speed traveling…150 mph +…all day long….sure it’s finicky, but that is just the passion coming out. Porsches are a penny a dozen…it’s like driving a Mercedes/BMW/Audi…..NO PASSION. This gentlemen forgot to mention that this is a 3200 Twin Turbo V8…a classic car. A lot of reviews of these cars are done with poor examples of the marque…because maintenance is so HIGH…but it’s worth it. I always get looks and thumbs up and everyone wants to race me. 0-60 -> 4.4/4.7 top seed 180+ with a normally aspirated V8…no hair dryers attached….just 4.2 liters and 420ish horsepower with my modifications. This car also pulls like a scolded dog and NEVER runs out of breath. So yourself a favor….buy a Maserati, a good example….don’t be cheap, do the maintenance and my GOD lose the boring Porsche/Mercedes/BMW/Audi blahness…..do something different for once. You WON’T regret it.
Doug styling should DEFINITELY be a 7. Personally I’d put it at an 8, but 7 is the bests compromise because pretty much everyone thinks it’s a great looking car. (Don’t own one btw)

I love everything about this car. I had the chance to drive one of these in Napa California. By far and away, the best thing I've ever driven. I had a 14 MC. The sunvisor wouldn't stay up, radio was impossible to figure out, the wiper fluid jets sort of sprayed where ever it felt like, and the alarm would go off if you left the windows down. Non of that mattered, the sound, perfect, you don't need a radio. Who cares that the key is an old flip key, theres something romantic about turning a key to start a car. I highly recommend you drive one of these once in your life, it's so rewarding.
How was the cost of maintenance?
It’s expensive. You have to want this particular car if you’re willing to pay for something like this. There’s cheaper faster better cars (by numbers) than this. But numbers don’t tell the whole story. Tesla Model S plaid is a great example of this.

"Now look at this fish." -Doug Demuro 2019.
It was a damn good looking fish (I may or my not be a fish).
I've always thought it looks like a shark. Sexy shark.
Adam Blanchard, but are you a gay fish?
Definitely Still want one, just upgrade with a aftermarket screen with android auto, LibertyWalk kit & straight pipe with resonators & its a dream build...whenever the motor blows, supercharge LS swap & get 700whp
After he nicked picked every lil thing. I still love my GT MC... sorry it's not high tech and has all those air vents. I still like everything about it. 🔱
One of the most beautiful cars of the past decade, IMO.
beezball the 2008 ones are less than 30K
I deff agree, I’m actually trying to decide right now if I want to pick up a. 09 Gran Tourismo or a 06 Dodge Viper....
aidoist I got 09 Granturismo coming this week 47k miles let me know if you’re interested
Saqo Asatryan do you know what color by chance?? I’d be interested in a white one ha
aidoist it is gray and interior is nice brown color
(Doug on his date) Doug : Did you like it babe? She : Ah ye.. Doug : Let me know in the comment section

I owned one from 2014, special edition with the RED Triton, it was Car No. 33 out of 314 world wide. Only sold it cause I got a unbeatable offer. The car was just amazing...
I wonder what car did you buy after that
How much was it?
Hey good to see you captured the only day it wasn't flooding in Texas.
Wait a minute.....did you say I could buy 4 (FOUR) giraffes for $100k?
And the worst thing is that there are 5 f***ing giraffes on the picture! @Doug, this bothers me...
No, for $160K.

R.I.P. MASERATI CAUSE OF DEATH: DOUG
That would be the case if anyone took him seriously.
At least two people have taken him seriously and bought a car because of him
@@tsaurus5051 Mostly because the rest of us are too poor
How? Most of his subscribers can't even afford a Maserati
@@MM-fp3zb may be lol 😂
Bruh, this car looks amazing I don't care what you say
Since you brought it up I think we deserve a Doug demuro review of a giraffe
Officer: do you know what speed you were going? Maserati driver: no, I was adjusting my heated sits officer
He’s not catching me fym
I tried that and he didn’t believe me😂😂
Uhhh,,,, there’s a big dial that’s called a speedometer over on the left opposite the tachometer dummy…. They’d sprinkle some crack on you and throw you in the slammer….
Doug saying this cars styling is bad while mans undershirt is coming out of his right sleeve 😂 love Doug
are you implying that doug's Shirt-Fu is not good style?
Chris Greenwood Nice ad hominem argument, dumb ass.
🤔🤔😂💀
@@speakingtruths4215 that’s not even an example of ad hominem dumbass. If he has bad style when it comes to personal tastes, you can logically infer that he has bad taste when it comes to other styles i.e. cars.
Honestly I rly like the earthy manual vibe of this car. No insane high tech updates needed for a car that sounds this good, literally the exhaust is amazing
Exactly. If I owned this car, I’d never use the stereo; I’d rather listen to the exhaust.
7:47 He lied, It has a USB and AuX in the glove box Doug is literally shooting it at an angle to hide what the USB port the iPod connector is plugged into as it also splits into the six port as well
It looks like a brand new car but it's 12 years old. Its design is gorgeous
Every car has issues brother from outside or inside, no car is perfect, but this one is the Rolex in cars.
Doug is the type of guy to compare a $150,000 car to a fish.
The way he said fishhh... 😂🤣😂
lmaooo
$150,000 is what the makers think it’s worth
Doug had me so weak at that part 😂
Was pretty confused on the comparison till I got to that part of the vid
Technology features are to be second. This beautiful car is all about driving. I like proportions and design
You either want a car to drive or a car for it's tech. In the UK, '08 GTs are going for sub £20k now, lower mileage for sub £25k. I would take that all day over a Tesla model 3.
those 2 aren't mutually exclusive
How the hell you give this a 6 in styling. It's one of the best looking exteriors ever.
I have one and everyone agrees in my city so I don’t see what he’s talking about

"lemme call my black Smith and see if my horseshoes are done" Now that's ancient technology.
What's great about the ancient radio and climate is in 20 years it will still function and feel just as old as the 2018 touchscreen.
well said, my 2020 hellcat touch screen went out, my 2022 c8 corvette touch screen stopped functioning, and his complaining about it has buttons, i personality prefer old fasion style
In my opinion the grand turismo is one of the most beautiful cars of this century. Designed over a decade ago and still looks modern.
If you ever think it looks good just go see one in person, you'll change your mind very quickly

I agree. I think it's fantastic looking. And I also think it has one of the best exhaust notes in a car today.
I disagree with his assessment on styling, I think it’s a really good looking car
Just look how he dresses...
Look at his damn shoes bro. Yeezy baby

"Steering and sound is excellent, acceleration is good. 6 out of 10 for the fun factor." Dude I get it, you dont like the car because it's over priced. Dont sell it short for what it's good at though.
no kidding! Doug cannot remove his unfounded biases from his reviews. Stop whining about the price and just review the car. What bugs me is that Doug always reviews sports cars without actually testing them as sports cars. He never mentions suspension, brakes, steering, response, agility or anything that I would be diving into when testing a sports car. Instead, he shows everyone that he's clumsy when getting in and out of a back seat that really was never intended for anyone other than children and complains that he can't push enough touch screens to satisfy his need to play video games while driving to the next dealership. Doug score for Doug: 1/10.
450 hp for that much money are you stupid you can go buy a 2010 bmw 550i sedan with 450hp does 0 to 60mp in the same time... this car does not make sense and is overrated
