No matter how many Rico fights I watch, I still find myself in awe at how massive his legs are. When they say "It's like getting hit with a tree trunk" this guy is literally just that. Imagine how bad those leg kicks coming in at normal speed to the thighs hurt.

Kinda fustrating to see Rico never goes all-out in his punches. He lands one or two medium strikes at best, then his defense goes back up,even when his opponent has nowhere to go. That is the only thing he lacks if you set him next to the K-1 champions of the past. But everyone has his signatures to be remembered by. Rico is probably the best technical fighter. Altho it's hard to compare, those of the old days were more stylish. More playfull, taking way more risks. Especially Murasaki lol. Nowadays it's all serious business.

Rico is a good fighter but he won neither against Saki nor against Ghita. Even the official statistics showed that Ghita landed more punches and more kicks. Moreover Ghita landed more significant strikes. Both Ghota and Saki have excellent KO records, Rico has very poor KO record but a chin made of stone, so he can stand the hits. And if he can stand till the end, somehow he always wins. That is why a lot of people turn away from Glory and kickboxing.

Kinda fustrating to see Rico never goes all-out in his punches. He lands one or two medium strikes at best, then his defense goes back up,even when his opponent has nowhere to go. That is the only thing he lacks if you set him next to the K-1 champions of the past. But everyone has his signatures to be remembered by. Rico is probably the best technical fighter. Altho it's hard to compare, those of the old days were more stylish. More playfull, taking way more risks. Especially Murasaki lol. Nowadays it's all serious business.

Rico Trains for volume and cardio more, he loses a bit of explosiveness, you can't have everything, it is a trade off and it is working perfectly for Rico. Average power punches but relentless.

Rico is a good fighter but he won neither against Saki nor against Ghita. Even the official statistics showed that Ghita landed more punches and more kicks. Moreover Ghita landed more significant strikes. Both Ghota and Saki have excellent KO records, Rico has very poor KO record but a chin made of stone, so he can stand the hits. And if he can stand till the end, somehow he always wins. That is why a lot of people turn away from Glory and kickboxing.
