Amazon absolutely loves the culture of theft. Think about it: 1st) If the culture of theft spreads to the Big Boxes like Wal Mart, Target, Dollar Tree, etc as well as Main Street USA, then the only thing left to consumers is online retail, and Amazon nearly has a monopoly on that market. 2nd) If a product is actually needed by a consumer, then *_Amazon sells it at least twice._*

I'm glad the community around me, though I barely involve myself, seems to be normal. Had a few packages brought to me because the delivery messed up the address, and I as well getting someone else packages and bringing them to the proper house. I did unintentionally open one first time, but it happened as I didn't notice the different addresses as I was waiting on a package that day myself... I stopped the moment I could tell this wasn't what I ordered to check the address. Wrote a note and went to the nearby house to drop it off. Nobody was home, so I left it situated at the door that is hard for onlookers to see and fully visible to the homeowner. Even got randomly different close by neighbors mail before due to the mail driver making a mistake. I immediately drop it off to them, and it is usually a short, pleasant talk. I've, in turn, received a few times from neighbors due to accidental delivery or mailing. The only issue I've had with neighbors over a decade is one or few of them just left dog poo in the yards randomly. Then, one short incident between me and one when he was driving in front of me as I was trying to get home. Both have been resolved long ago. Only one broke in from way back from someone who was caught quickly and not from around the area. Besides that, no complaints about my community, thankfully. Morning, hear the birds, ducks, and owls going about. After school time, I can hear the younger children play in the yards. Generally peaceful, and that is the way I like it😁.

The shipping company even sends a unique authentication code to your phone number. Sure, if the delivery guy knows you or the building, sometimes they don't ask for it.
Yeah it seems like its some old fashioned US customs to deliver this way. Unfortunately, it has somewhat spread to where I am as well.
I know, it's totally crazy. I know all my local delivery guys and they usually phone me if I'm not in or they deliver the next day but it's way more secure by default because if you don't sign the slip and gave the secret code then you can usually claim from the retailer or delivery company.

Lefties: we have a community instead of family Also lefties: this is the best neighbour i have, it's like he doesn't exist
I can't wrap my head around the concept of just leaving a package in front of a house.
