He is competitive and a good sport at the same time. Looks happier these days if this is a recent show. Glad Magnus admitted using a cheap trick that he doesn't use as a principle otherwise. Where is the rest of the conversation ?

Love the show, Skavlan. You are a consummate professional, very warm and personable in all of your interviews. Glad for these new episodes. Can't believe anyone would think/comment that the show puts in "canned laughter." Your audience is genuine, and live.
Skavlan is actually one of the worst interviewers in tv history. It's painful watching him. There are two reasons you people think you like him: He gets the best guests. The other one is ridiculous, but you think you like him as a person. That's not saying he shouldn't have his own show, after all it's all about the money and if people are watching, they're watchin so to speak. But interview wise, just horrible.

Mate, he has an estimated IQ of 160. You're literally saying that he isn't really smart when he has an IQ equivalent to Einstein... Plus studies show that the correlation between IQ and chess level isn't as close as you seem to think it is.

@@glauberbispo8922 Bro it's magnus Carlsen... He is a genius, a chess prodigy, and the chess world champion, of course he does! But just because you can't win against an exceptionnal player doesn't make you an idiot. Just to put this into perspective: If Mike Tyson lost against Venus Williams in Tennis, would this mean that he sucks at sports? Similar thing. You can't expect a new player to beat a tennis prodigy just because he has a talent for the general domain of sports sports. Carlsen was already a Chess Grandmaster, the best title in chess, at 13, the youngest GM ever born. He also learned and trained chess thanks to his father since he was a child, and beat Karpov, former multiple world champion, at the same age! This dude isn't just some random guy, he is somebody with a talent that's yet to be equalized! Most people think chess to be pretty niche, but in reality, over 200 millions people play chess regularly, so for this man to be considered a genius, it's for some reason.

Bill is not good at chess. I am 1500 and I play a hundred times better than him. It's obvious, when he's 'analyzing' his position, that he has no theoretical basis for his approach to the game, no idea about tactics, strategies, openings, and so forth. He doesn't have any experience at all. He says he's 1600 but he's probably more like 500 - a total newbie. Of course, he can never admit that, because in our culture chess ability is often shown to symbolize high intelligence. In Blade Runner, the super billionaire owner of Tyrell corporation is shown to be an avid chess player, along with a stock investment enthusiast. The connection is clear. If you are rich you are smart and if you are smart you are good at chess. Sadly, these connections are often messy outside of fiction.

It's NOT "canned laughter," there's a large audience there. I lived in Norway for years, speak the language, and this show is absolutely genuine, the real deal. Skavlan is 100% professional, a real pro interviewer. Know before commenting, do your research.

It only took Magnus 11 seconds of play time to win (he started at 30 seconds on the clock, ended at 18 remaining)
