King is based on chess. In chess, the king can summon other pieces to instantly defend him, hence why Saitama and company happen to always be around to defend him. King is probably unaware of his ability to do this and victims of his ability are oblivious to being effected by it. A small scale reality warping ability that triggers when he experiences extreme fear and makes it impossible for him to truly be harmed by what is scaring him. He pretty much has the power to unknowingly trigger miracles.
This might be it chief.
That or natural selection a deity let alone dumb probability could b playing chess and the dice lol does saitama have super hearing so to know things afar like heartbeat's lol? Cheer's.
@@kenwoods9503 I didn't understand what you said
So what I am hearing is, King is responsible for Saitama becoming overpowered. It was Kings miracle making that gave Saitama the power to be the most powerful human.
This is definitely it
Every time the King Engine is active, it emits pure, unadulterated Plot Armor
I’d believe it
Kings Guard: draws the hero with the highest strength towards King to act as a bodyguard in dangerous situations. A side effect is often non violent viewers and lesser powered individuals have difficulty perceiving the "bodyguard".
unadulterated
And that is how king went from the strongest man in the one punch world to the strongest thing ever in every possible reality
@@shelbyholcombe8731 nice ability idea imma steal it
King actually does have a power btw. ONE has stated that King basically has Domino's power of luck. ONE called it his "charisma" but he stated that basically anytime King is in a bad situation, a hero(usually Saitama) will always be there to help him.
Not always a hero, Garou helped him.

My favorite king moment by far is the part in the webcomic where atomic samurai approaches him and questions his power and says cut this apple and if you can I will know how strong you are and king just sits there and then leaves then atomic samurai is like "oh my God he sliced the apple so quickly that the apple doesn't know that it's sliced"

King did it so swiftly that, neither apple know it's been cut nor blade know it's been unsheathed nor The King Himself know that the blade is unsheathed and apple had been sliced 😂😂
True courage is not being fearless, but facing situations despite being afraid. In this, King is the single bravest person in the entire series.
mumen raider is the first for me. king is the second :D
Yeah that sounds epic and the only thing I have is shameless

It's not that Saitama can't beat King but that it's never a possibility of happening. Saitama and King are both aware of each other's power, or lack thereof, and at the core of their friendship. I would venture to say they are the best of best friends.
It's that King's luck would prevent them from ever fighting or find a reason for them to continue being friends
I mean I’d say they are. They’re gamer buddies 😂

That kind of composure that invokes thoughts like "This guy looks annoyed at me and nothing else. I finally bit off more than I can chew this time haven't I?"
Hes my favorite character. He reminds me of a time someone pulled a gun on me at my job, and I put on a brave face, and told him he better put it the f away. I was stone faced, but freaking the heck out on the inside.
My inability to hold my expression to hide my feelings means i suck at lying. I couldnt imagine facing the kind of crap king faces and not soil myself.
@@camerscott1859that's crazy
What i love about King is that he is a great supporting character. He is a friend to Saitama and he actually grows, he is still full of fear but is trying to the right thing and help the other Heroes to the best of his ability. Even with the power that he possess he is the "normal dude", he doesn't have super strength, can fly or is a pysiker like Tornado. He is the opposite of Saitama, a Hero out of obligation wanting to be a shut-in instead of a shut-in wanting to be a Hero for Fun.
The artist who draws the One Punch Man Manga has a talent for showing us, the readers, King as others see him. To the other heros or the general public, King is shown as a a brooding figure of limitless power, restrained but intimidating. Even Tatsomaki deems him worthy of a approving smile. To monsters and criminals he is seen as a towering menace of inescapable Doom. To Saitama, he's a tall, skinny dude he knows who's frustratingly good at video games.

King is the embodiment of “task failed successfully”
That is so true
I have always looked at king as the embodiment of "Deus ex Machina" but in a good way.
Not gonna be able to unsee that!
You know, King may actually have a power, it just happens to be utterly useless in a fight. I think King's power keeps people from being able to read him. That would explain why all those heroes and exceptional martial artists have no clue he's not as powerful as they think he is. It would also explain why nobody can beat him at games.
Also explains why he almost always has the same expression at times
Actually, I think his power has something to do with drawing a super hero that can handle the situation. Even in his flash back where he went out to buy a video game and was attacked by a monster, a hero showed up and took care of it. (I think it was shown to be Saitama), but that's not the only instance of that happening. He mentions always being attacked by monsters but always having someone else swoop in at the last second and he somehow gets the credit. King's ability might be to literally summon a hero strong enough to defeat whatever foe is present lol
@@pcbangbros8350 im honestly pretty sure his ability is just pure luck cause saitama always shows up right when he needs him to

King is the ultimate aurabot: buffs the team with luck+leadership aura, debuffs all enemies with intimidation aura. He also has passive plot armor and can summon the most powerful heroes.
King is essentially the combination of Domino and Wonder of U. His power is 100% luck based and seemingly defies the very laws of statistics
Luck factor in that he's Unlucky, attracting Villains n what not, and Wonder of U in that wherever he is, Saitama is nearby.
@yuann bin well, not really, King is the second strongest hero after Saitama, its just that King doesnt realise it, and everybody else does
He can be like donald duck's brother too. Everything seems to fall in place for him
Hes like the murder lady from dirt gentley detective agency.
king has the most op power of them all, the ability to change luck ( causality) meaning events will bend to help him out in the end no matter what.
I think king shares his powers with Saitama, king is so weak yet extremely intimidating while Saitama is the opposite of that extremely strong but easy looking and they share it because they both use it in the same place it's like king's job is to delay the massacre till Saitama arrive
King has powers; just not the ones he is credited with. His are more the ability to effect the mental state of others as well as manipulate them.
,@@kerwinbrown4180 he does have that ability but he doesn't have the strength to back it up like Saitama who lacks it but can end a god-level monster with one punch thats what make them a nice dual
Exactly
funny guy
king has so much plot armor because Saitama gave his plot armor to king because hes so strong he doesn't need it, so king now has the strongest plot armor in all anime existence
Legend has it, if saitama ever tries to fight king, saitama from the future will come to the past and kill saitama
Saitama is kings telepathic representation of his power, he imagined him into reality after the real Saitama (with hair) died from his fight with the crab monster and gave king ptsd and remorse. King is the main character.

Considering King's powers I think he might actually be more "powerful" than Saitama. The universe never lets any harm ever come to him.
Except the scar he got from the pink monster
@@rollercoasterwolfboy6795 which served to help him later on with a more intimidating appearance.
So his power is 'The Universe'
@@rollercoasterwolfboy6795 well even if he gets injured it is clearly more beneficial in the long run
Well if Saitama wanted to kill king, he would just destroy the entire universe to get it done...
He’s Siatama’s foil. One is strong, with no presence, the other is weak, with an overwhelming presence. On top of that his name implies that he is the “King”, like in chess, all pieces attempt to kill him, but all the surrounding pieces try to defend him. He is the only person in the universe that always has someone or something intervening for his benefit. This anomaly alone is his power. It’s just not blatant like the others.
I think it’s where king is the king in chess and saitama is the queen basically king is a bluff or intimidation tactic and the queen or saitama is the strength or the one who backs up the bluff
Plus, just like in chest, the king can't go into spots, where it will outright die the next turn. If there is any way to save the king, no matter the sacrifice, something will have to block the path. I really feel like that is truely his power. Even if he didn't do his whole act, he would still somehow be saved.
In the foil thing, recall that Saitama is pretty much an idiot, and King is very intelligent and insightful.
Wouldn't be surprised if King is actually an esper who is able to transfer his own fear against those confronting him and the ability to alter probabilities without him being aware of what they are to benefit him. Like those of Marvel's Longshot.
Honestly that’s a good theory
That appears to be the leading theory. His power is the ability to manipulate probability (which is literal omnipotence if potent enough.) Or his power is being extremely lucky. However for him, it likely works in the manner that whenever he is at risk of being killed, a hero will come and save him
@@elviraweekes3906yea
I read a fan theory somewhere that basically says that the monster that gave King his scar was an Esper and that it gave King the power to subconsciously manipulate the people around him without him actually being aware of his own ability
I think King's power goes deeper than his intimidation. I think his true power if the power of leadership, something that Saitama lacks. Saitama has infinite strength, yet no leadership or recognition, while King has no strength, but amazing leadership qualities and attention. This beautiful contrast shows the dichotomy between strength and leadership, and really serves to make even an unexpected character like King the other side of Saitama's coin.
@@sekaikage it's more of giving people hope and having the ability to put on the facade of his strength and leadership
Saitama doesn't have infinite strength, he said himself he reached his limit
@@sognetworks7518 Saitama does that too. King gives people hope by virtue of his (actually Saitama's) strength. The people who know what Saitama is capable of feel the same way about him.
@@_bbunsthe6th_279 Saitama already beat his limit, so yeah infinite strength is a right word to describe it
@@remmichan So did Goku and Deku, doesn't mean they have infinite power. Saitama said himself he can't get any stronger, if he had infinite strength he wouldn't have said that.
say what you want about King he is not a coward. he experiences fear like every normal person but his first instincts isn't to run all the time
Fr fr
Preach my man, preach.
there is something called fight or flight. but there is another reaction which is freezing. King gets so afraid he can't move a muscle. if he speaks or does anything while afraid, he does it extremely strained. his reputation and scary demeanor enhance his intimidation factor. basically him being paralyzed by fear gives him his "powers".
I have a feeling that at some point in the story, Saitama will say "I can't beat King." But before explaining "why" everyone will misunderstand.
genos jaw will drop to the planet core
nah
Just like the rest of the times Hot pot mess and monster gore are not the same
I like how King and Saitama's friendship reminds people you don't have to be friends with or only associate with people in your *'league'* (a Bullsh*t concept anyway) or "peers" in your field but rather hanging out with people who's company you actually enjoy regardless of ego inflating ranks!

True..
You're here too. Why am I surprised considering your pfp.
It is possible to have a girlfriend in the opm verse
King is that low level paladin you guys let roll with you at end game. Even though he's not much of a fighter or a healer, his auras buff and inspire allies and weaken and demoralize enemies. He's just racking up kills based on assists and accidental killing blows. Support is still support and without him, stuff would still be more difficult💖💗 I love King and his empathy is a great counter for Saitama's apathy. King and Mumen Rider inspire and bring joy to our Caped Baldy's life. I teared up when Mumen Rider got saved and he wrote him a fan letter and bought him ramen, and when King recognized him and apologized, kneeled before him, and begged for forgiveness. Those 2 and Genos are straight 💯 with Saitama.
actually that'd be a hillarious D&D build, just auras and intimidation so intense everyone just scatters or is shocked long enough to die
Saitama isn't apathetic overall. He's only apathetic about killing monsters, because it requires no effort. Of the two, I'd say he's actually the one that forms authentic emotional connections with people more easily. King definitely is very good for him, though.
@@himurabattousai8408 dont forget king is the only one who ever beat saitama in gaming 😂
They really make the series don't they? something so special about King, Mumen Rider, and Genos.
@@darschpugs4690 it's because these are people that he has direct influence over and also influence him. He inserted himself in their life at their time of need. From what was shown he was pretty lonely and lost in monotony. Then he started busting baddies. Then. That got old when there was no struggle. His friends made him feel more human, and allow him to actually obtain the ability to have fun again. When he's in panels with his friends he's usually smiling but when it's just him, not so much
I think me and my friends described it the best, King DOES have powers, but those powers are infact INCREDIBLY subtle, he has luck that is as powerful as people think he is strong and at the same time bad luck the same way, think about it, his bad luck draws all monsters in but then his good luck ALWAYS seems to have some sort of fluke or insane miracle fly in at the last moment to slay the monster, he is essentially a super hero but without the ability to control or dictate his luck/unluck aura.
In original web manga by ONE, King went to train by going to dojos, there they said King's style martial arts are way more powerful than anything they can teach him, so they kept sending him to other dojos.
King actually just ate the usopp-usopp no mi, which gives him the abilities of god usopp to be incredibly brave whilst being incredibly weak
You mean the mythical zoan Hito-Hito no mi (Model: Ussop) lmfao
Lol
In order to make King the true greatest hero, all he needs is for somebody to build him a robot that can be controlled by a gamepad remotely
Mega XLR?!
In games , Theres always preset moves. If one can get the movement of presets then king would be F'ed up
@@mr.pickles9791 Yes, you have a point there, but this only means that King would have a time limit to how long he could fight an opponent.
@@meliasnahtony2951 But if , the fighter does adapt really fast to the situation that is still a con. That would meant king would need to utilize his moves more than any hero .
@@mr.pickles9791 I meant that he would have to go full ultraman and obliterate the monster before it learned how to counter his moveset. Speaking of which, he could have a sort of special controller made with a dial or switch that could change the fighting style and moveset of the robot with a simple flick.
King has the most OP ability. He has literal indestructible plot armor. No matter what bad luck happens, good luck will demand the scales balance. Luck will force a balance at the singularity. King is the singularity of luck. I love his character tbh
I think that Kings power is luck. And he subconciously alters reality to achieve that luck. I would also say that when he got his scar he needed to be saved from dying so his subcouncious created Saitama even before that moment has happened so he could be there and save him.
If Saitama is as he is now because of King, now that'd be a plot twist that I'd be interested in.
King's true power IS Saitama. Now that's a meta power!
Wow, I can totally stand behind this theory!
I'm guessing that King is like the king on a chess board and Saitama is the queen.
@@The_child-catcher “definitive chess king”
I my opinion king's luck is more on the good one because sure he attracts monsters left and right but he always got helped as well, he attracts problem but somehow and someway always solved it, either by staring at them with king's engine or saitama's help
Agree. I don’t see a pendulum of good and bad luck. The getting the scars on his eye sucked, but having the scars solidified his legend. Spilling his lie to saitama sucked, but that honest reunion completed the yin/yang nature of their power sets. Think of all the times King was asked to help, but turned it down. That fuels his legend. If instead all of that went to saitama, it would fuel his boredom and annoyance.

Kings power is simply Luck. In this anime, it is just disguised to us as being coincidence. It seems that people get powers based on a major aspect of their character traits. As it seems King has always been an unlucky person, he was given the ability of Luck. It has not been confirmed, but it seems very obvious to me at least.
With the condition that he remains unaware of how it works
Saitama never had a chance playing nintendo with him🤣🤣
its anime protag... well... actually way better then protag luck, cause he dosnt get hurt.
I've always assumed that kings ability is literally always having saitama near him even if they don't know it.
It's part of it, but even when Saitama is nowhere to be found, things still work out for King somehow. 'Summon Saitama' is just his ultimate trump card.
Kings superpower is literally just plot armor lol. He should be this channel mascot 😆
I personally want King to be a "Director of Operations" for the heroes since he's got that luck level and it fits him very well too
To King's credit; not even Saitama has killed an enemy with fear alone. Villains and monsters underestimate Saitama; potentially the strongest man in the universe, which gets them killed in the end, and all but the most confident and/or daring enemies overestimate King to the point of defeating themselves.
Like the JoJo poker game 😅
Something that I’ve always wondered is couldn’t the guy who made Genos a cyborg do the same to king and actually make him stronger?
No, his luck prevents him from getting stronger or gaining any skill.
@@_bbunsthe6th_279 damn at least he still has his stand, Caped Baldy.
Well, if the “strongest guy on earth” needs some cyborg like enhancements, wouldn’t that break Kings image of being the strongest(physically) man on earth?
The truth is no one wants to help King because no one thinks they can help the strongest man in the world. His reputation precedes him so much that even coming clean about it being a farce just gets taken as him being humble.

0:10 Fun fact- In this manga it was said that the crow visited king because of saitamas *_Shiny_* Head
King’s unsaid power is in his name - a king rallies his men and gets his strongest to fight on the front line A king is weak without his court, knights, and pawns - thus relies on their strengths throughout the battle He is the weakest, yet is able to rally heroes to fight in his stead on the constant basis that it became his super power. Name a king that fought on the frontlines (nvm Richard the III) in most wars. Majority plotted strategy and were a standard for men to rally
Yes this is the theory/explaination i need
king literally emits "oh my god please almighty give me plot armor" aura
King is a true hero. His intimidation and King engine save lives when the monsters don't fight.
saitama power: being strong king's power: "here, i'll roll a check for intimidation."
Imagine King controlling armed robots with a controller.
I was just thinking that! There is 100% gonna be a team up between king and metal knight, it seems like perfect synergy
If that robot was as strong as Saitama, it might be a 50/50
One thing about king is if he wasn't so cowardly, he could keep his facade up easier. In his first appearance, that lizard guy was beyond scared of him. King was MUCH taller and by the looks of it, stronger even for a normal guy. He could have grabbed the lizard man by the throat and thrown him to the ground for added intimidation

It would be damn nice if King actually got some really op powers and could do what people expect of him on his own, actually feeling good about his actions.
But then he’d be All Might
That would be so boring tho
King used his imaginary cannon blast and destroyed like 5 dragon class monsters in an instant (through garou)
@@xeibei4804 You'd THINK that but this is one punch man, the anime where the protagonist at the end is at the beginning.
I know you just want King to feel better about himself, but technically, King is already the most op other than Saitama. He basically has meta luck and wouldn't even need extra powers to become "stronger" This is my personal headcannon, but I think it's also essential for King to experience fear in order to use his full powers potential since his increased heartbeat is the reason why the King Engine works in the first place. Once he grows too confident he'll lose his intimidation factor
So basically King can beat (or survive) literally anyone including Goku and Zeno because his luck would prevent his death
I don’t know how well it would work on other anime characters with augmented luck and I would count goku among one of those characters from watching/reading everything DB I would argue that’s goku’s main power I think if goku and king faced off it would end in king teaching goku how to play video games

I'm convinced that if King got his hands on a real life remote controll robot like Metal Knights bots, he will obliterate any monster.
This was super great man. Keep it up!
give king a mech controlled from far away he'll play it like in video games and beat everyone
Hmmm. Takes control of Metal Knight at some point.
He would be beast if they told him it was a video game but he could only be a hero in game and the mech suit can't harm anything not evil it would be a cool idea or if he starts controlling metal knight suits or sum but his luck power alone is pretty op
I was just thinking of an idea. What if they make him a war bot, that he can control with a controller. He would literally be the strongest.
Ok, you put in enough effort... reluctantly subbed despite your ads campaign. Your video are THAT good... There. It was said.

The "sensing of power" was explained as well, when the boy took his and saitamas reading, he said "king too strong for the scale to show" and "saitama too weak for the scale to show". he is "so strong that they cant even sense it".
Best video ive seen about a character, i could watch you talk for 2 hours
King was just as terrified of the monster as the monster was of him. And it was just a matter of who had the stronger heart.
I'd love to see King in one of the new battle suits like Mumen Rider in the new ark... Just so he can have his well earned 15 minutes of fame, after all that crap he's been through I can see him being able to use the suits better than anyone else because of his gaming background. 😁
Already calling it that at the very end of the manga and King finally decides to become a real hero like Saitama he does 100 pushups, 100 sit-ups, runs 10km, and most importantly never every uses the AC every single day even on really really hot days.
King is the physical embodiment of "If you're afraid of doing it, then do it scared"
In many regards King reminds me of the chess figure. By himself he is quite weak, but the other pieces are his strength.
thanks for making this video, i just really like how king exist in one punch man 👊❤
King is the literally physical representation of “PLOT ARMOR”
I think the fact king is a Loner and knows what it means to be lonely is the best reason to give advise on how to not feel bored and alone cause he knows how it feels and he thought about it and maybe tried it.......... the most lonely person is sometimes the most helpful and thoughtful
I love this guy. He’s made only a hero because he’s in the right place after Saitama ends a battle and he gets the credit, plus is stare no matter how he really feels along with this reputation scares most villains. Luck might be his power.
Kings power = summons saitama with 100% probability of luck.
That was BadAss thank you
I got into the show after seeing a fan made video. I've binged it about two times over now. King is one of my favorites
I would have loved if King had been in that king arc starting situation like: "Ow You only want data" and wouldnt have fought at all because the monster only wanted data. Maybe had the secret from Saitama a bit longer. Much potential for drama and such for longer.
Everyone saying Kings ability is luck, while they very clearly show, that it’s „character control“. He is like the writer. Reality becomes a video game, where he unleashes a 99 power combo at will with the sweetest character after being kicked in the corner. He is just as powerful outside the game, as inside, he just doesn’t know. His heart is just smashing the buttons of reality, instead of his fingers.
There is an object in chaos theory called a "strange attractor". Despite initial starting conditions, the system tends to evolve around the attractor. This may be part of King's ability. Pruno
Thank you for your hard work
From what ive seen. King does have a power. It is his flawless execution of a pacifist run for his anime. Sure he may not have any real fighting ability. But as long as his stats say 0 kills/knockouts he's on track.
I want King to become an actual superpowerful person just based on his close contact with a bunch of dead monsters or something.
Unironically his power is his heart. Physically and metaphysically. He can read the heart of others. He can inspire others hearts. Etc. While this doesnt cover the his luck. It does cover most of his scenes.
Being able to keep your your outside cool is super power in it's own right
Would love to see a full budget blown out animated fight with these two with King winning only for it to show they were just doing pvp in a game.
