MyEnergi Eddi Temperature Sensor. How does it work in the app?

In this video I take a look at how the temperature sensor and the Eddi work in the MyEnergi Eddi app and what kind of temperature readings I am getting out.
In a previous video I installed the MyEnergi Relay and Sensor board in the Eddi and then attached a PT1000 temperature sensor cable in order to see the temperature of the tank on the eddi and in the MyEnergi App. See this video here: • MyEnergi Eddi Temperat...

  • Thanks for sharing your installation and the app information, I had my relay board delivered yesterday and I’ll be fitting it over the weekend, I only brought it due to watching your installation video…. Wouldn’t it be great if Myenergi could make the app so we could set the temperature needed, we could set the element to a higher temperature such as 70 deg and then we could control the temperature up to the maximum, great videos

    • Yes, that would be a nice little add-in if we could do that. Although it doesn't seem that long ago, they added the temperature reading to the app, as it wasn't in there before.

  • Great to be able to see the temperature! Just bought the kit, and will install in the next couple of days. Do you know of any way to prevent Eddi from using excess solar between certain hours? I’m on Octopus Flux tariff, and would like to maximise my solar export between 4-7pm, and not use it to heat my water during this time. I can obviously do it by manually switching the Eddi off, but do you know of any automation method to achieve this? Thanks!

    • No, you can't do this in the app. You can only schedule boosts. I don't know if you can do this in the home assistant program. I don't know if there is a plug-in for myenergi in that. I haven't used it, though.

    • @@daniel_coe Thanks. I’m wondering about putting the Eddi mains supply on a smart plug which I can schedule on/off periods. Not sure what happens to my settings when I switch Eddi off, but I’ll find out! Meanwhile, I don’t have a lot of hope, but I’ve asked the Myenergi development team to consider adding this capability to the app. We’ll see. Thanks again.

    • @@christaunton when I wired my Eddi in I put 2 single sockets for the outputs, I put 13amp plug tops-on the wire from the tanks, I use Tado 110 energy monitoring plug and set a schedule for the plugs to turn off between 4pm & 7pm, it works perfect the Eddi thinks the water has reached temperature, doing it this way you won’t lose any data from your solar system, you can also ask Alexa to schedule the sockets to turn on and off between the times

  • Is there a video showing your CT installation, i believe we have a similar solar set-up

    • I dont have a video just about my ct clamps, but other videos may contain details on them. Most of mine other than the eddi one are in my electric meter box.

  • I have a iBoost+ to use my spare solar and when the water is hot it switches to channel 2 (Your tank2) which I have connected to a 3kw storage heater (Internal Ceramic Bricks) in our living room which keeps the chill off in the day and can open up in the evenings to save on some gas for the CH

    • I'd like to do this too , have you any information about the storage heater you used and the connection to the eddi
