    • In the UK we got a short ITV story about a man that moved a chess piece on a computer after surgery.... that man is playing MARIO ffs! It's almost like the media don't care that millions around the world could have their lives transformed. Imagine if the same attitude was shown 2000 years ago? "Yeah so that weird Jesus guy pulled the drowned girl out the water, and did his CPR on her and she came to life - like whatevahhhh."

You can be wise, creative, interesting without being informed on the lastest scientific discoveries. edit2: some of my replies could be doubled because when i use KZhead comments i wrote disappear, double, are incomplete, do not become the edited version et cetera for some reason.

    • @@cantstanditanymore I mean, I’m also worried and agree with you about where it could be headed but for now I see a great team of human beings, trying to help other human beings. And that is faith restored in humanity, unlike anything Biden does. I know I’m bringing politics into it but Biden has destroyed my belief in America. 2 Timothy 3:1-5: “In the last days . . . , men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, having an appearance of godliness but proving false to its power.” We need to be weary in these trying times, but don’t sit and do nothing. I feel like Christian’s have been quiet while the nation we live in has slowly become anti-Christian. My own nation is turning their back on God and it kills me to sit by and watch.

    • One of Elon's comments about this tech was the idea of stitching severed nerves together with AI, with threads thinner than a human hair, and the robot has to be taught how to sew 1st before any humans go near the thing. There has been controversy because of the animal studies and euthanasia surrounding the procedures. This young man has taken the 1st step, and with how demanding Elon is with his timelines you'll be seeing more over the next few years. Then watch the FDA take decade to approve. Seriously :( Will this work for someone with a long lasting injury? I think that's between them and God, but sometimes all we need is a little hope in life to go forward, yes? This was all considered theoretical until Elon put his money where his mouth is, now we just wait and see. I'll be damned if no-one get's a Nobel prize out of this someday. Wishing you all the best.

This isn't very far from where they are now.

Working with a human that understands that the implant is not a problem but a help is probably a huge advantage. That said, there are potential future problems. But being human is half the battle. Meaning he isn't going to scratch out his implant and we know human physiology better than primate physiology. Be weary though, cellular scarring is a real consideration. The blind being able to see the deaf able to hear the paraplegic able to move devices with thought. BCI technology and other biotech such as neuralink are crowns and their beginning is now. The mark of the beast is in the profile and account regarding a person. Well it is the age of clouds (Internet neural network e.t.c) AGI is happening and intelligence is shared it is not artificial it is developed and communication is a unconfounded language. Language not only spoken by the tongue but by nerves of the temple your body and the universe. Remember a tower once stood in Babylon and this tower was brought down. Elon deserves a LOT of credit for being so influential. If only there were more wealthy people with vision and belief in something better, they seem to be in very short supply. Yeh Elon's not the messiah, but doesn't it speak volumes about everyone else when one guy can set up several industry and/or world changing companies that all address incredibly important areas of research in the way they have and will continue to do so. Give the guy all the credit you can, it might encourage others to step up and push us forward. All credit due to the engineers, programmers and medical staff that are working on this area, it's gonna change and save lives. Crazy times coming... Let's hope we don't mess up with the AI. 😅

An exoskeleton would be cool and all, but I believe that will not happen at least to the degree most imagine. Most likely a neural bypass is the logical step for paralyzed individuals. An “exo-suit” would be little more than an aid for maintaining balance or rigidity. The issue being if the chip failed or the aid malfunctioned, minimal risk to the user is needed at least for the modern day.

You couldn't just believe something to happen and it happen for example. I'm assuming that you'd go to move a finger or a limb and the neural interface would 'read off' the associated cortical area and produce a signal.
