Invasion is initially interesting, but the series quickly lose its focus on the actual invasion and instead moves it focus to family drama, secret love affairs, LGBT relationships and the difficulties of being bullied in school. The cast is also incredibly politically correct, to the point where literally every race has an equal amount of representation in every setting and it just feels incredibly unnatural and forced. There are also so many examples of 'strong female leads' (while the men usually fall to incompetence/being scumbag cheats), and multiple references to 'muh white man bad' from minority groups... The whole series just screams 'Progressive Hollywood' to the point where its politically correct messaging seems to be of more importance than the actual plot itself, and progressive politics just doesn't make for good entertainment.

@@tovsteh agreed...people in tense end of the world survival mode,, dont keep their purse close by, but leaves the one source of protection just haphazardly loose. Mommy doctor is annoying as hell, a real woman would have left him in episode 2, told the military I have family back at a farm , but presses on with the military. The same military that has a hard time dealing with the creatures, yet mommy takes one out with a stick. Farmer takes a few out with a shotgun.....People would not act like this. Horribly written, I found myself yelling to the kids and mom,,,"SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!"

Yeah, but you have to show at least SOMETHING. I know you don't want the whole movie shown in the trailer, that's frustrating, but this trailer showed us practically nothing. There was no hook. I honestly can't tell you what this movie is about. Is it a horror, action, scifi? I mean, I assume it's some sort of alien invasion, but this trailer left me with so little that I honestly have no desire to watch it.

It's because this trailer is designed to also play as a KZhead ad. That little short clip at the start is to either entice you to not click "Skip Ad" after the mandatory five seconds, or to give you a quick look so that even though you hit skip, you still know what the trailer was for

Just watched the first episode. Big-budget production supporting a fresh-outta-film school-quality screen play. Felt particularly sorry for Sam Neill doing his best to exemplify rural American values while spouting dialogue written by guys who probably only ever flew over the kinds of towns they’re trying to write about.

I'm really enjoying this. I like that we haven't seen much physical alien contact but also seeing the effects of them being here at the same time. I think the different characters in different countries is a good idea too.

the perfection of this trailer is everything! very little dialogue given, quick cuts of scenes, you show lots of action, a seemingly interesting storyline and most of all, left the biggest mystery of all, still a mystery, what does the alien look like? i love it and because of this trailer i will be watching the movie, this trailer came on because of autoplay and im kinda happy about it!

Apple: "We're thinking we want a movie thats not like Signs, but kind of like Signs. More unimaginative and simplistic. We're thinking maybe it can have a Call of Duty element to it too because people today don't really get dialog and story plots, they need explosions and action... We can't get Idris Elba to play the Special Forces guy who does all the action stuff so who can we find someone who looks most like him? Let's also add in some kind of family drama... maybe some scientist or doctor who's the only one that can save the world with Idris look alike. Apple Board Memeber: "Like Jeff Goldblum in Independence Day?" Apple: "Sort of... only more physically unimpressive and uncertain of himself. Someone you don't really have any emotional attachment too but your supposed to think you are because he has a family he has to get back to... but you don't really care about them so it doesn't matter, it's just fluff for a story with no plot" Apple Board Member: "Should we show the alien in the trailer? Apple: "Why not... its not like this is gonna win any Oscar's. And it's not clever enough to have that Hitchcock-esque suspense element... All in agreement? Good. Let's make a B movie and probably not make any profit!" Apple: "OH, before i forget... get Sam Neil to play some arbitrary role. Maybe we can get some extra views from people who remember him from Jurassic Park"

It’s a series
Invasion is initially interesting, but the series quickly lose its focus on the actual invasion and instead moves it focus to family drama, secret love affairs, LGBT relationships and the difficulties of being bullied in school. The cast is also incredibly politically correct, to the point where literally every race has an equal amount of representation in every setting and it just feels incredibly unnatural and forced. There are also so many examples of 'strong female leads' (while the men usually fall to incompetence/being scumbag cheats), and multiple references to 'muh white man bad' from minority groups... The whole series just screams 'Progressive Hollywood' to the point where its politically correct messaging seems to be of more importance than the actual plot itself, and progressive politics just doesn't make for good entertainment.
@@tovsteh agreed...people in tense end of the world survival mode,, dont keep their purse close by, but leaves the one source of protection just haphazardly loose. Mommy doctor is annoying as hell, a real woman would have left him in episode 2, told the military I have family back at a farm , but presses on with the military. The same military that has a hard time dealing with the creatures, yet mommy takes one out with a stick. Farmer takes a few out with a shotgun.....People would not act like this. Horribly written, I found myself yelling to the kids and mom,,,"SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!"

Yeah, but you have to show at least SOMETHING. I know you don't want the whole movie shown in the trailer, that's frustrating, but this trailer showed us practically nothing. There was no hook. I honestly can't tell you what this movie is about. Is it a horror, action, scifi? I mean, I assume it's some sort of alien invasion, but this trailer left me with so little that I honestly have no desire to watch it.

It's because this trailer is designed to also play as a KZhead ad. That little short clip at the start is to either entice you to not click "Skip Ad" after the mandatory five seconds, or to give you a quick look so that even though you hit skip, you still know what the trailer was for

Just watched the first episode. Big-budget production supporting a fresh-outta-film school-quality screen play. Felt particularly sorry for Sam Neill doing his best to exemplify rural American values while spouting dialogue written by guys who probably only ever flew over the kinds of towns they’re trying to write about.

the perfection of this trailer is everything! very little dialogue given, quick cuts of scenes, you show lots of action, a seemingly interesting storyline and most of all, left the biggest mystery of all, still a mystery, what does the alien look like? i love it and because of this trailer i will be watching the movie, this trailer came on because of autoplay and im kinda happy about it!

Nope. People do not need to waste their time with this garbage. Starts out great. Incredible suspense, some of the characters are forgettable and almost ruin the series, but it can't all be perfect. Then there is the final episode. Complete and utter garbage.

Battle L.A was still the best and most realistic earth vs alien invasion movie.
In the way that it took the aliens over an hour to get from Santa Monica pier to the 405, yes, but there wasn't a single wrecked Prius on any of the streets, so a clear fail there!
A race capable of traveling light years, facing humans almost hand-to-hand? and easy to kill with a lot of weak points in combat? With a technology... let's say 60 years more developed than ours? not kidding, it's a movie shit.
Check out The Thing it's an 80s alien invasion movie. If you enjoyed battle la you should really really enjoy the thing.

We can't get Idris Elba to play the Special Forces guy who does all the action stuff so who can we find someone who looks most like him? Let's also add in some kind of family drama... maybe some scientist or doctor who's the only one that can save the world with Idris look alike. Apple Board Memeber: "Like Jeff Goldblum in Independence Day?" Apple: "Sort of... only more physically unimpressive and uncertain of himself. Someone you don't really have any emotional attachment too but your supposed to think you are because he has a family he has to get back to... but you don't really care about them so it doesn't matter, it's just fluff for a story with no plot" Apple Board Member: "Should we show the alien in the trailer? Apple: "Why not... its not like this is gonna win any Oscar's. And it's not clever enough to have that Hitchcock-esque suspense element... All in agreement? Good. Let's make a B movie and probably not make any profit!" Apple: "OH, before i forget... get Sam Neil to play some arbitrary role. Maybe we can get some extra views from people who remember him from Jurassic Park"
