  • The fact that she starts by binding him, first in one eye then the other, then stabs him enough to slow him down, rather than just going directly to a throat slit, makes it clear that even at this point Arya is a stone cold assassin. • I love how this show (and others) often made getting your throat slit seem like it's sleepy time. It's my understanding that you don't just lay over and die but rather there's a fair amount of gurgling and I'm guessing it takes a minute to die of suffocation and/or drowning in your own blood. Maybe I'm wrong. But whatever, seeing Arya get a few extra stabs in there before the finishing blow was satisfying. Meryn had it coming.

      @asphaltmilkshake4596@asphaltmilkshake45962 жыл бұрын
    • I would assume the gurgling would only happen if you cut into the wind pipe and blood gets in. Otherwise if you cut too shallow you'd just cut veins and artilleries and the person would bleed out.

      @darkshogun5887@darkshogun58872 жыл бұрын
    • It's not just the suffocation or drowning in blood. It's the sudden loss of blood supplying the brain. That can be pretty much sleepy time. All depends on what's actually cut.

    • There's a book, "On Killing" where the author explains that we have a natural repulsion to stabbing people. The impulse is to slice, which is usually ineffective and slow. Soldiers have to be trained to overcome the urge to slice and have to be taught to stab instead. Stabbing the kidneys is usually faster, cleaner, and is generally just more effective if the intention is to kill.

    • *take out Trant with ease.* if Syrio killed Meryn Trant Then who was "Meryn Trant"? Who did Arya actually kill?

      @drippinwet774@drippinwet774 Жыл бұрын
    • It doesn't even work timeline wise, since Jaqen H'ghar was already in the black cells, and waiting to be shipped to the wall when Syrio Forel was giving Arya her last lesson. Syrio was good, but Trent had armor, and a big fcking sword... and several Lannister soldiers as back-up, as we saw them getting back to their feet while Arya ran...
