I saw Hot Fuzz when it came out, and thought nostalgically of Wells, the only small English town I've ever had a weekend to explore on my own. Then I looked up, and the movie was shot in Wells! A meaningless coincidence, but watching the movie brings back those lovely memories, such as the Cathedral grounds and the antique musical instrument shop and antique scientific instrument shop (!) right by the Penniless Porch. I remember most places being closed and the town quiet. Perhaps some bank holiday, or maybe it was Sunday (this was the third week of March 2003). I think if I ever make it back to England, although there's so much more I want to see, I'll just have to head to Somerset again. One thing about Wells is that it's on a pressurized karst aquifer, beneath the Mendip Hills to the north, and there's an artesian fountain (seen in the film) near the city square which keeps the gutters downhill from there continually washed in sparkling clear water.

I kinda get the impression that someone pretty much tapped Simon and Nick on the shoulder and asked where they should deliver the truckload of money labelled "for the Currently Popular Duo", but i have nothing firm to back that up. :)
@@dtz1000 different crew! paul was pegg and frost but no edgar wright and you can definitely feel it
Timothy Dalton absolutely stole the show in this film... and there are so many amazing performances in it anyway.
3:17 THANK YOU for not including yet another arbitrary romance subplot like 99% of all other mainstream movies
Nono, the romance was still present - they just turned it into a bromance.
I rewatch this from time to time just for Bill Nighy's little piece to camera.
"When i wake up i don't eat. I fast for at least, I don't know... half an hour?" So many jokes in these interviews. Bill Nighy was also hilarious 😂 I love brits and their humor.
Nick Frost's acting: 🙁🧐😁 Edgar Wright: Perfect let's shoot it
Bill Nighy is a treasure
That was some funny shit!
Thank you algorithm for bringing me here.
Said it for years, Hot Fuzz might just be the greatest film ever created, and I don't say that lightly. It ticks literally every single box.
I never realized how much Young Edgar Wright looks like young Jay Bauman
internet brain
Genuinely I think it's the best British movie ever, star studded cast, amazing script, extremely rewatchable. It's miles ahead of the other 2 corneto films but I'd still love to see another
Adam Buxton. Fkin love that guy. Wish he were on screen more.
Timothy Dalton is my favourite james bond ever. Nice to see him in this film he made a great villain
I grew up loving Bond films, but now the only ones I ever want to watch again are his and George Lazenby's. Edit: He was the best Mr Rochester in Jane Eyre, too.
@@Benjiesbeenbetter. ...and the best Heathcliff in 'Wuthering Heights'
The best ‘how did they make’ I’ve ever seen. Hilarious. Should be on the DVD.
It's on mine 🤔
The Lord of the Rings trilogy was better imo.
@@Nekoksu Ooh. Fighting talk.
@@RalphBrooker-gn9ivLet's do this then Bitch!... Lord of the Rings trilogy was better!
A perfect film in every way. Will never get old
After watching the spaced behind the scenes, then SOTD, now HF, they're absolutely hilarious, the best of the best of British acting being brutally dry. Paddy Considine hanging Rafe Spall out to dry is just pure, British humour.
This is hilarious! Bill Nighy saying he took the job to pay off a drug habit… Simon and Nick talking to each other in their trailers on walkie talkies.. what fun!
Great to see a Ex James Bond in the film.
I say we reinstate Dalton as the next Bond, we need old-school James back. 007: Splat the Rat!
And he was brilliant in this movie. My favorite part was after such a gruesome injury at the end, he's asking for ice cream for a sore throat.
Heck of a cast and an absolute classic of a film. It was wicked to see how Dr Thatcher's foot got shot too 😅😆🤣 "You're a doctor, deal with it!"
Yeah was good to see how they did the foot shot shot ;)
Truly a dream cast. Lovely how they were all excited about working with each other and seemed to admire each other.
The director seems like a nice guy. Which makes the success of this film extra satisfying.
13:10 "the kids will quote it". That specific scene literally went viral on Tiktok not that long ago lmao
Paddy Considine saying he doesn't know who any of them are buckled me fair play 😂😂
Hilarious and adorable olivia Coleman was intimidated by the talent at the read through and now shes the intimidating one
Paddy had me cackling!!! Bless him. 🤣🤣🤣
I'm from south américa and I never missed a chapter of The Equalizer but this is the first time I realize that Edward Woodward is part of the cast
That's interesting.
@@0d1963 Thanks, I'm from Kentucky and am happy enough to live here, but England is the land of my dreams. Just the sheer history per square centimeter alone....
lmao this is so pedantic but wells is actually a small english city!! the smallest in the uk!
@@lover-to-beWell then next time I am going to have to find the second smallest city, and go up from there!
@bobmortimerfan Do you mean the smallest English city? The UK's smallest city is St Davids in Wales.
Probably one of the funniest films ever.
nick seems like the guy who's really easy to work with and everyone loves him for it at work.
There are really big names in this, but specifically Edward Woodward and Timothy Dalton. I mean, Callan/McCall and Bond/Prince Barin. Really, really badass. Dalton toughened up 007 (and kicked Mel Gibson's ass in real life, justifiably). I just applaud Simon, Nick and Edgar for doing what we'd all love to do if we could: make a fun film starring all our heroes. Thank you for remaining fan boys. Plus, not only does the film feature big British names, but puts my home county of Gloucestershire on the map!!
Billie Whitelaw as well, perhaps not as famous, but a highly respected and brilliant actress. Mostly known for playing the nanny in The Omen. Absolutely amazing in films such as "Payroll" too.
Probably not the Gloucestershire Tourist Board's preferred choice of promotional material, but it certainly was memorable. :)
"What's the situation?" "Two blokes and a fuckload of cutlery!" Just thinking about that exchange still sends me into a fit of giggles. Cornetto forever.
I could've listened to Edgar giving the full list of every speaking character, their names and the story behind it.
"My, my... Here comes the fuzz..."
Now I want to watch The Making of "The Making of Hot Fuzz"
"We don't know what the puddings are gonna be yet"- Bill Bailey 😂
Loved hot fuzz and paul is one of my all time favorites
my mom let me watch this movie, repeatedly, as a child. its still one of the funniest movies i can think of.
Moulin Rouge was my first introduction to Jim Broadbent, so anytime I see him on-screen since, he makes me giggle. That was such a fun film and Broadbent brings 100% with every frame.
My favorite movie of the Cornetto trilogy. I make it a tradition to watch this movie every year.
The Cornetto Trilogy: "Shaun of the Dead" was the most iconic. "Hot Fuzz" was the funniest. "The World's End" was the most clever.
Hot Fuzz honestly may be a perfect movie in my mind. It can be watched so many times, and in so many ways, getting what you want out of it. I know people who have only seen American cop movies/shows and they get that side, but I grew up watching British cop dramas and I was catching so much from that end. I try to watch it once a year.
I enjoyed this movie much more than "Shaun of the Dead". A cool mystery. Excellent action. Satisfying character arcs. Laugh out loud humor. An amazing cast. It has it all.
This is true cinema comfort food, I just watch it again and again
I met Edgar, Simon and Nick in Minneapolis when they were in town for a junket for Shuan of the Dead. I was a security guard at a high end hotel. Nicest guys ever. They told me about their movie at like 4 in the morning and it sounded great. Little did i know I'd become a huge fan of their films.
I love Olivia so much. This cast and crew is amazing.
The Frost-Pegg friendship is one of the few things that make me proud to be British.
Just watched it yesterday because I was thinking of it. It is such an epic movie. Every line is so perfect. Every actor fits its role so perfectly.
Spent the day in Wells with my mum today just to see the Hot Fuzz location, we both love Simon Pegg and Nick Frost and it was great, we even saw a swan on the manor grounds.
Dear God, I love these actors 😂
Still possibly the funniest film ever made in England.
Thanks for uploading this.
Welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed this.
How Timothy Dalton is not a Marvel character is beyond me.
I fucking love Edgar Wright so much.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen hot fuzz… never gets old 👌
between marvel movies and Hot Fuzz (and other E.Wright blockbusters), guess which one will be praised and remembered more dearly in 20-30 years...
Rory going from playing Lurch the trolley boy (whose mother is also his sister), to some lesser-known show involving thrones or dragons or something. 😂
The most accurate depiction of British rural policing ever committed to film.
Absolute masterpiece
A timeless gem of a film ❤
Thanks for posting this. One of my favorite movies
never forget hot fuzz
Love this movie 🎥
Midlands DeNiro, Raging Bullring made me chuckle 😂
One of my favorite films. I'd never seen this footage before. Brilliant!! Thanks for sharing.
Rural Weapon would have been a great title! 😂
They're certainly nothing like the guns I've ever used at all way back in Callum or The Equalizer", but now they are exactly the guns you see in Equalizer.
Fantastic all the way.
Such a great cast all legends❤
Callan. I remember the swinging light bulb. And the music. 👌
my favorite movie of all time
I remember watching and loving the dvd extras when this came out, thanks so much for uploading! I love behind the scenes stuff and i hate the modern world where we don't get it any more 😭
Absolutely brilliant classic movie. Glad I found this, wonderful!
It's great to listen and watch Edgar before he did Scott Pilgrim, Baby Driver and Soho. Guy is a legend.
Great film, with great people! 👏🇦🇺🎭
What a treat, thanks for this.
TY for sharing this!!!
Welcome :-)
The unbelievable cast alone makes this film into instant classic.
