My New German Shepherd Puppy: The First Week at Home
This is my German Shepherd’s puppy first week at home with us. Even if he’s still very small, he’s already showing his big character. He is a true leader of the pack, best shoes chewer I know and lovely companion for my older Golden Retriever Leo. This little German Shepherd puppy is the perfect addition to our family and makes us feel complete.

The puppy is really cute but, that Golden is awesome! Sharing toys even chew sticks with only the slightest occasional mean face! He deserves hugs.

Puppies are so great, you take them away from their parents and they are still a bundle of joy. Never sad. I remember my GSD puppy cried the first night so I picked him up and put him in my bed and he never cried again.
He thought you was the mom..
Of course they miss their moms. They miss them like they do human family. Think of a soldier coming home or a dog pal’s death as examples. Just because they stop crying doesn’t mean they have forgotten or stopped longing. Human children also generally stop crying for their biological mom if mom leaves or dies. The behavior of no longer crying is an adaptive behavior and not one of closure or peace.

Bingo i did the same with my boi.. and even now as 6 months old though hes outgrown my bosom he still loves when i sleep on floor he can come and snuggle up to me and sleep..

Beautiful pooches. I’m reminded of my gorgeous GS of some 40 years ago. It tears me up to think too much about him still today, and I try not to ponder on his abscence, it’s so upsetting. You’re going to have a marvelous life with this little one. My Diesel grew up to be gigantic, with a gorgeous flame - orange coat on his back. He ended up hardly ever sleeping. He used to patrol the house seemingly all night. And he’d jump up on my bed ( I was about nine or ten ), I could barely move he took up all the space. And I fell asleep watching him staring at the door and windows. He never hurt anyone, loved children especially , but seemed to be obsessed with inspecting and maintaining his territory.
Hi, Matt. I had one when I was very young. He used to pace around the house outside at night so much that he wore a path in the grass... territorial just as you describe. He also wouldn't allow my babysitter to enter the house after she went outside to retrieve her schoolbooks from her car. I guess he figured she needed his permission to get back in. I stayed with my grandmother after that 😂 Cheers to both of our good boys!
Just lost my 13 years old German shepherd few days ago. All is left are beautiful memories, his ashes and his medals 😞. They are beautiful creatures and I miss him so much... Thanks for sharing these videos! Cheers from Italy

Goldens are literally the best! Look at that big brother action! He welcomed that puppy with a patient open heart ❤he also taught him boundaries that puppy will need when interacting with other dogs down the road!👍
German shepherd has incredible energy. He will have the same energy and curiosity when he grow up also.

3-4 month into growing my Shepard had one of his ear stand up before the other one and it was definitely the cutest and funniest thing to see then a week later they both pointed up😂😭

Another week, and if you were to take Tiger somewhere Leo couldn't see him, he would fret. They're brothers now. Watching this was like seeing my boy, who came into the house when my girl was 18mo torment the gentle girl. They are inseparable now, but she sometimes puts him in his place and he backs right off, even though he's quite a bit bigger and stronger than her. Soon we're getting 2 more, so that'll be fun. The boy will be very put out I think, at least for a while.

When we got Luna at 8 weeks she cried all the entire hour and half way home had minor separation anxiety. Fast forward til today when she is closing on 11 months. She is still as much of a loveable friendly loving gsd. One of the best decisions my wife and I made!!

GS dogs are the best. Mine is 7 years old. Once they get out of the puppy stage, they are defenders of the home and very territorial. They are a 24x7 home security system.

German Shepherd puppies are the best. My boy HavoK is 9 yrs old now but he looked just like Tiger as a puppy. They could have passed for brothers. LOL. He also bothered his big brother Kaos (RIP) the same way. Stole his sticks, balls. Jumped on him. Kaos was ten when I got HavoK. After all the years he still remembers his name if I say it....The puppy barks and how they run & jump are best. Also can't forget the puppy breadth....
I too have have a GSD he's turning exactly 6 months today! He's an amazing dog but very naughty at the same time...I love him a lot and he's the best birthday gift ever!
