  • For everyone having trouble with ads: I'm so sorry, I did not do this. I don't own any of the content in this video, therefor KZhead is free to place ads wherever they like. I do not make any money off of it, nor would I want to. I can't remove the ads unfortunately, however there are a few workarounds: Apparently you can fast forward to the very end of the video, and then hit the replay button, which should make the ads go away. Alternatively, you can consider installing an adblocker, or you can listen to any of my mixes ad-free at my SoundCloud www.soundcloud.com/thomasmsc Once again my apologies for the inconvenience everyone.. Cheers, Thomas

  • Man, my whole life is influenced by this game. Altair was a Nizari Muslim from Masyaf, historicaly home to Kurds, Arabs and Persians. I have a Kurdish father and I was very interested in the story of Alamut and Hassan Sabbah. I'm living in Istanbul(Revelation) and because of my love for this game I studied Italian at the University. I went to Venice with an exchange student program for 5 months and walked through the streets where I walked as Ezio when I was younger. I went to Florence to see where Ezio was born, where his family got executed, where he lived his youth. I got a yacht captain certificate because I was inspired by Edward Kenway in AC Black Flag. What more can I say? I want to thank everyone who helped to create this masterpiece and influenced me. Nothing is true, eveything is permitted...

  • Man, this just makes me want to replay some of the older games... Don't take me for a nostalgia freak, I loved AC3, AC4, and was even a loyal defender of Unity when everyone hated it for its performance issues. I was also very positive about the RPG mechanics that Origins brought - I just didn't have the time to play it. But they just didn't have the same sense of wonder. Somehow, the tone of the series up to Revelations had a beauty and mystique that the later ones just didn't have... They struck a perfect balance between history, fiction, and mythology to make me feel like I was actually in the setting but never like i was in a simulator. The dark and gloomy crusader states with their dull blues and whites, the vibrant city of Rome with the flying rose petals and warm tones, Constantinople with its slightly grainy, saturated colorfulness - perhaps, I would say that back then, their art had "direction". It didn't just look good (which the recent ACs definitely do) they each had a unique visual tone. The music was definitely part of what made them so special. I still remember climbing a tower in Revelations with the sun in the background, and the music flared up; I had a tightening, sinking sensation in my heart. The visuals, the atmosphere, the music, and Ezio's story all had to blend in just the right way to give me that feeling.

    • Tiberius Cerelius Tigris I don’t think the loss of identity is due to the mechanics. I’ve enjoyed most of the new mechanics in origins and odyssey. But the story has just become so convoluted and removed from the core Desmond experience that it doesn’t really feel like assassins creed anymore. Good games, just missing the feeling of the Ezio trilogy.

    • Unity is definitely a good game. the story isnt the best when put up against some of the other behemoths in the ac universe. I loved the story of Ezio, Connor and Edward, maybe the last two are just nostalgia of child me loving pirates and the colonial era haha but i genuinely loved Connors story and ambience and soundtrack. Huge fan of native american stuff, theres not enough of it. As for performance, I never have any issue in ACU, I still play to this day and I run at 4k/60fps on max settings. Im also running a 2080ti and a 9900k sooo that might explain it. I have heard that years later ACU is still an extremely demanding game in terms of hardware. But thats beside the point, it is a very smooth play for me and it is still one of the most graphically stunning games I have ever witnessed, right alongside my 400+ mod 4k skyrim. Origins is also a great game and so is odyssey, but I dont think they are great assassins creed games. Origins still has that vibe, but Odyssey kind of lost it, dont get me wrong the game is AMAZING but its just not what I really wanted out of assassins creed. I loved the old combat mechanics so much. The point of it was to feel like an unstoppable one man war machine. I think unity was a good balance between new and old combat where health and gear started to matter but also not that much especially with stealth. I get that you can only take that so far, but still. Id like to see another game adopt that style of combat. I mean... those double kill counter cutscenes tho... come on. Now it feels like your typical RPG, I feel like they did that as incentive to get people to purchase the xp and money packs..

The three tenets and they assassin's saying, I always go back to them when I need either comfort or need to remember that nothing is what it is. "Stay your blade from the flesh of an innocent." Nowadays, the blade could be your words as they can create equal amount of pain to those around. I will not use my words as my blade to harm the innocent, they will be reserved for those that act like Templars... "Hide in plain sight, be one with the crowd." I am that one that stays in the shadows, watching, listening to everything that happens around me, learning about things that could have a negative or a positive impact to others. "Never compromise the Brotherhood." My brotherhood is my family and friends, I will never turn my back to them and not to bring any danger to them, I would do anything for my family and friends. Everything that the characters say in the game, I listened and I learned what they meant, I learnt how to put those words into my life to keep my family and friends safe but also the people around me safe as well... After all... "Nothing is true and Everything is permitted"

Our long passed ancestors lived and breathed just like we do. I always had a passing interest for history, but AC inspired me like nothing else, and I've never looked back - and I think playing it has given me a really valuable head start in viewing these historical figures as real people. • A beautiful co-incidence: In Dec 2020, whilst I was working on my MSc thesis early in the morning around 6:30 am or so, I played this video. The beauty of this was the timing, I guess. As soon as the song 'Ezio's Family' barely started, there was a beautiful sunrise with sliver of rays shining through my window to hit my PC screen and me at just the right angle. The very cold morning became suddenly refreshing due to the mix of this song, the sunrise and the accompanying warmth, all happening at the same time. The memories of me playing this game in 2009, early mornings till afternoon, during vacations, flooded back. I was tired from working on my thesis but this moment refreshed all of it and made my day!! This moment now lives only in memory. It has become like my beacon during stressful times. Thank you.

  • A franchise dedicated, and respected for its complexity, it's beautiful storytelling, the unique characters, and every emotion that goes with it. But the songs, the songs never fail to disappoint me. Every single theme and melody brings not only a feeling, but a story. Stories told in the most beautiful way possible, with the characters in them. All the way from the merits of Altair, to the abilites of Ezio, to the stoic Connor, hell even the drunk and charismatic Edward. To not only make a game to kickstart this amazing franchise, but to be consistent through the next few games, just blew my mind as a game fan. How? How???!!! How do you achieve such a fantastic plot? You don't have to make the characters cool, THEY ARE COOL. They're *Assassins*. Climbing from rooftop to rooftop is the coolest feeling, is it not? To Assassins Creed 1. Wow, what a brilliant concept. This idea of a game dedicated around a Creed, a brotherhood. I don't think any of the writers at the time knew what kind of success they would not only create with this game, but for games to come. To the Ezio Trilogy. There's a reason you got three games. What a fuckin' character. A charismatic, charming man who like Altair, dedicated his life to the Creed. Playing those three games really showed who Ezio was. His past, his present, his personality, his present. And even his future. A man so loved by fans that they just had to give him another game, and even another over that. To Assassins Creed 3. Connor's story is one that I always love, but even more interesting was the hate and backlash his character got. Him being emotionless, ill-tempered, and his motives were questionable. But I have to appreciate Connor and his story for who he is. A man not understanding the ways of the world and joining the brotherhood by the frail age of 18. It was clear he still had much to learn as a person. And for the rest I'm sure everybody has their own experience. Black flag brought in a new basis, away from the lands and buildings and to the sea. But I'm afraid the series is now going down a bit. Sure those games have their unique gameplay styles and they are even fun to a lot of players. But I felt like after Desmond died, the "assassins creed" element started to go away. I miss it. I miss all of it. But I'm glad that it happened.

  • I grew up with Assassin's Creed, I played essentially all of the games and I still absolutely love the series. All of us have the game series that we grew up with, that we were obsessed with any loved most as kids. Assassin's Creed is that series, for me. I played the hell out of this game, I probably finished the campaign for Assassin's Creed Revelations, Assassin's Creed 3, and Assassin's Creed Black Flag like 6 or 7 times, at least. I still go back and play them once and a while on my old Playstation 3. I love this series, and while I may not love the last three games as much as I loved the older ones, this series shall remain in my heart until I'm an old man.

  • Dude I regret so much that I didn't use to be a gamer back when the first AC released and couldn't discover the series earlier, and couldn't enjoy the new game every year since 2007. I'm only into the franchise since 2016, when AC3 was free because of UBI30. Today I'm only missing Odyssey from my collection, and I've already played through every game in order from AC1 to Rogue. Currently I'm taking a break, so that I won't get tired of them before I reach my current most anticipated episode which is Origins. God, I love these games!
