No KZhead você pode encontrar o vídeo, no início da segunda metade do jogo, existe uma jugada onde Paz é supera claramente em velocidade para Roberto Carlos e este comete uma falta violenta para detê-lo. Em outras lanças do mesmo jogo se notaba. O líder Paz tinha muito potencial, mas se desperdiçou. Não digo que Paz foi melhor, mas respondendo ao título deste vídeo, Paz foi mais rápido que Roberto Carlos em um enfrentamento direto.

@@rodrigoalves1944 Para completar, o Líder Paz foi um monstro em termos de aceleração e velocidade máxima, não é como se fosse uma rara exceção naquele dia. O problema é que ele bebeu e festejou muito desde cedo e faltou tanta disciplina que Ronaldinho ou Romário ficariam parecidos com Cristiano comparado a Paz. Ele melhorou depois na disciplina, mas acho que já era tarde e as lesões o pegaram, por isso ele nunca atingiu seu potencial. Mas não era nada como um cara lento em um dia de sorte.

I remember watching him and his exploits. He had everything. Speed, technique, shot accuracy and power. I was interviewed by the french tv during the world cup in 1998. The journalist asked him to cross his legs. And he was unable to do so. His legs were too muscular for that. I think his legs were as big as my chest. Impressive to look at. This guy was a monster. And he achieved a lot of miracles. He scored many insane goals. And to think that he was "just" a defender... I loved to watch him on the pitch. He was special. Different. Like Ronaldo Nazario da Lima or Ronaldinho. And many other brazilian players. (Rai, Juninho, Socrates, Pelé, etc etc)

Best back ever. He's basically the sole reason why wingbacks are a must today. He showed that you can be offensive without neglecting the defensive duties. Cant name a more impactful defender at all actually. And thats all without talking about his world class freekicks, which people feared and many players copied. My absolute favorite player of all time being a defender myself.

In other moves from the same match it was noticed. Lider Paz had a lot of potential but wasted it. Fun fact, if I’m right, the illustration of the video, R. Carlos vs T. Henry, ironically ends with… Henry overtaking the Brazilian with ease. Still it’s one game he didn’t lose, that’s something in his long career vs French team. He did take part in another draw in 97, once again a friendly game. O problema é que ele bebeu e festejou muito desde cedo e faltou tanta disciplina que Ronaldinho ou Romário ficariam parecidos com Cristiano comparado a Paz. Ele melhorou depois na disciplina, mas acho que já era tarde e as lesões o pegaram, por isso ele nunca atingiu seu potencial. Mas não era nada como um cara lento em um dia de sorte.

The journalist asked him to cross his legs. And he was unable to do so. His legs were too muscular for that. I think his legs were as big as my chest. Impressive to look at. This guy was a monster. Best back ever. He's basically the sole reason why wingbacks are a must today. He showed that you can be offensive without neglecting the defensive duties. Cant name a more impactful defender at all actually. And thats all without talking about his world class freekicks, which people feared and many players copied.
