He is 59 & has so many mental health issues plus probable CTE & a TBI that left him in a coma 8 days. It's too late now I had to get a TPO as he's 6'6 300+ pound homicidal maniac. He's constantly talking about killing someone. He's violent. Anyone reading this Familiar w/ BPD know if it is common for an obsession with violence.

    • Hi, guys! Send you much love and would like to share with you what I’ve studied about anger. Anger, aggression or spite develop themselves when we carry resentment, pain (emotional) or fear. Especially if this emotions are suppressed or we are not aware of them. You can observe which topic or situation awakens it most and investigate how you relate to it. Maybe something is there which reminds you about a negative or traumatic experience from the past or childhood… externals are mostly triggers….❤

  • This is so beautiful and painful to hear at the same time. Access to food is such a privilege and so many of us don’t have the resources to be able to afford the amount of food described on this episode. And I’m speaking as a middle class person, who can afford to live in a home with heating and electricity monthly but runs out of money for food often and relies on a food bank to help fill the gaps. At the same time, I’m sure there are plenty of people out there who would gladly switch places with me.

There's one thing that I find really important that I think it was not mentioned... stay hydrated! You can survive several days without food but not without water! Eliminating processed foods and managing glucose transformed my 80-year-old mother's diabetes and reversed prediabetes in my siblings. We weren't unhealthy, just misled by calorie counting and a low-fat diet loaded with sugar. I urge everyone to watch "That Sugar," a decade-old documentary challenging perceptions of "healthy." Your remarkable work, Jay and Dr. Shah, merits immense gratitude!

I get up every single time it notifies me and I can feel it in my body when I do stand from sitting so long. I also take daily walks for 1 mile or more, that helps get my blooding flowing and to finish out my day. I usually walk during my lunch hour.

  • Fasting is really great if your already leaner, if a person Is overweight this doesn't work as good because the body doesn't know what to do if heavier the best thing is to lift weights and ease into it. Not eating until 11:00 am or 12:00 pm every day will make a difference but ultimately the more processed the things we eat the more it won't matter what we do the more wholesome the more garuantee of losing weight

  • This was such an informative episode. I really like the advice, especially the ine we can adapt to our regular life. Sadly im not able to get any health markers or blood tests to check my numbers, doctors are expensive when you dont quality for health insurance. Also, nir every doctor or clinic will do a test juat because you want it, most of the time they ask for referrals and that's a whole other loophole you have to jump through. All the devices yiu talked abiut also cost money, it makes me think health is only for the ones who can afford it. At least in this country it feels like it. Organic, local food is not cheap. I know our health its the most important thing we should care about, that is why i care more for the practical advixe than all the tests, machines and gadgets you need to get to find out how your health is.

    • Wow! This is very good information, I can relate to this ❤. Thank you so much for having such an amazing, down to earth kind of person. Most doctors don't have the time to talk to you. So Thanks again!!

  • I always believed the phrase our bodies are our temple and it’s so true. Removing sugar from my life has changed so many things. I decided to get certified in holistic nutrition to be able to educate people on how to eat. I am 36 and I look like I am 24 years old. I don’t smoke or drink and I force myself to move (cycling, walking, Pilates, weight training)💪🏽💪🏽No snacking, Whole Foods and fasting helped me tremendously

  • Hi! I’m a dietitian. This is exactly what we go to school for. But as Dr. Darshan says, Western medicine focuses on eliminating the symptoms without addressing the causes. This is why registered dietitians are not compensated fairly. Even though we are required to have a master's to practice clinically, we are not making money for the Healthcare system. I would really like a space to advocate for optimal health through pillars of wellness AND for the dietitians out there. I hope you don't mind me sharing on your space, Jay! But I made a video that explains why nutrition therapy MUST be included in medical treatment for HEALING if anyone is interested!: kzhead.info/sun/ZrmSg8WJnqqlmXA/bejne.html Please feel free to remove my comment if deemed inappropriate! Thank you 🙏🏽!

  • Outstanding podcast. Dr shah thank you so much. We can have him one more time to talk more about gut health and what supplements can help and which probiotics? Because I can’t figure it out on my own and no doc will help you! Because the system. Told them not to prescribe any supplements!

  • Slight correction needed here peeps, it’s 1 gram of protein per pound of muscle and not per pound of body weight. Eg, a person weighs 200lbs but only has 160lbs of muscle (40lbs body fat), that person should take 160 grams of protein and not 200lbs… Another thing, It would put too much stress on the system to go from what most people eat in protein to all of a sudden eat 160 grams per day. Gradually is the way, mixed with fibre and staying hydrated. Also may want to look at taking Milk Thistle for liver cleaning occasionally.
