Man, these beats are like a modernisation of sweet 90s NY beats. It's where contemporary hip hop beats should have developed into. They have that same "cool anger" feel I always felt listening to old skool tracks. Notice how old school rap just fits in with these beats better than the new rappers' remixes? Bless you, my dude!

For those wondering, the sneakers are inspired by the Converse erx 260 hi on the left, the Reebok Blacktop Battleground in the middle, and the right is some sort of LA Gear or Nike. None of them are 100 percent accurate but you can definitely make out some of the inspiration. I'm a major sneakerhead and have quite a few pairs of super high top shoes that I like to satirically call my space boots lol.

Heard a cherished few of these before, but this collection is epic. This is a mood for sure
I was born in 1997 and didn't had any knowledge of hip hop until 2007, I really started loving it and stuck with it. Im glad I stuck with Hiphop. Its not like I don't like other genre, its just that hip hop has that emotion, feel, storytelling that cannot be found anywhere else.
I think you should explore more much my friend I love hip-hop also... Kinda raised on it. But don't sleep on the classic like anything from the 70's bro that shit was fire from electronic to rock to early 70-80's hip hop.
90s Boom Bap is technically the reason for LoFi.

I highly suggest you listen to groups like "a tribe called quest", digable planets, The Pharcyde and others . Lofi started there.

You know what’s crazy? Out of all the artists that past away, Biggie seems to be the best person on a LoFi beat honestly. Like if someone sounded like him today and came out with that same energy I think he or she would be 🔥
I have to say Wu Tang Clan has the best collection of lofi beats. The entire Enter the 36 Chambers album has lofi quality do to RZA mixing it on cheap equipment in a small studio space that he carved out in his basement. Wu Tang America Saga touches on it.
MF DOOM have a similar energy, listen Ramirez too and Pouya they r fire

great selection - great remix!!! and that animation - so brief and simple yet so beautifully atmospheric
This is what lofi hip hop is supposed to be! SO MUCH "lofi hip hop" out there that misses the mark. Some of it doesn't even have hip hop flavor it in and it's just soft, melodic music that has a beat. More of this please!

The most fucked up thing about these remixes is that most of the producers that created the 'lo-fi' sound were actually active around the same time but a Easy E, Tupac, Snoop Dogg, etc. wouldn't work with them, because this style of beats wasn't considered 'commercial' enough. Sampled-based jazzy shit wasn't considered 'street' or 'club' enough. Nas' first album, Mobb Deep's second album, and the Jay-Z/Premo collabs being notable exceptions.
Gangstarr
Tribe's "The Low End Theory"
i THINK it grew into the puff daddy "sample the catchy hook of a pop song and it's just as catchy as a pop song" style of sampling, which essentially took jazz rap out of the mainstream. was born in 1998 so i wasn't there, but i AM a massive nerd.
@@sussvarman Nah...I was there. Hip-hop that sampled jazz was never really mainstream. It was a little corner of hip-hop. The biggest jazz sampled songs could barely peak Gold (500,000 units sold in US), where stuff like Death Row/Bad Boy were moving millions of units each month snd all over the radio and TV. Those were the dominate sounds of the day, like so much is Trap these days. Think about it....Dilla had already started making classics (ATCQ, De La Soul, Pharcyde, etc.) when Biggie and 2Pac were still ALIVE.
@@coolo73 Snoop, etc borrowed heavily from Parliament and other funk acts. I mean, they called it g-funk, after all. East-coast types were more jazzy and def are my preference, but there’s some West-coast stuff that’s for sure timeless. I think where hip-hop really went wrong was with Master P, Puffy and all those other dudes rapping about Gucci and Cristal and saying absolutely nothing. But that’s a whole other conversation, I guess, LOL.
This the first time in a long time I sat down and just listened, no video games or comic books or insta, just close my eyes and enjoy the tunes.
