  • As a south African I think I speak for everyone when I say McDonald's is the least interesting place to go to so i'd highly recommend anything else but that😂, only reason I ever go there is if I really just need a quick meal and there are no lines. And big ups for playing the random "african" songs we don't even know or like😂, love your videos by the way ❤️

  • A South African breakfast is basically a large English breakfast with good quality produce as standard, without the beans. Sometimes there could be a small steak, boerewors or lamb chop thrown in.

    @fsnyman@fsnyman4 ай бұрын
  • Traditional South African breakfast for me. 1. Slap Mieliepap with butter, sugar and milk. 2. Bacon/ Boerewors, eggs, fried tomato, fried mushrooms and lastly toast with appelkoos konfyt and a lot of butter. 3. Ouma beskuit or your Ouma se beskuit. All meals accompanied by a cup of moerkoffie or rooibos tea. Perfection.

  • I grew up in Soweto and my favourite South African breakfast will always be fermented sorghum porridge with tons of sugar. My late grandma used to make if for us and it's heavenly. Sadly, I have not had this in years. On the weekends (and when we were in the mood), my family would have scrambled eggs, fried vienna sausage, french polony or russian sausage with some baked beans. This was normally eaten with plain bread (hence the plain bread buns in the McDonald's breakfast). Not big on coffee so the preferred beverage for me was rooibos tea with sugar and coffee creamer or juice. A typical South African breakfast is either a maize or oat porridge with sugar, butter and milk, some kind of commercial cereal like corn flakes with milk, amagwinya/vetkoek either plain or with sides or a hot breakfast of some sort with fried or boiled eggs, bread/toast and any variety of sides. Beverages are typically coffee, tea or juice.

  • We usually eat an English breakfast with eggs, sausage, bacon, tomato, toast, sometimes steak too and we add caramelized banana. Bananas, halved in lengths, browned and caramelized in butter. Or we eat scrambled eggs with wither steak and kindness or Liver and onions s wrapped and fried in caul fat and eaten with Worcester shire sauce. Yum!

  • So rad that you are here! Keen to see you try more uniquely South African food. Like OG boerewors😂 not the McDonald's kind. Also McDonald's here is halal to cater for the people of our "rainbow nation". So no pork. For a quick brekkie we have a biscuit called a rusk with tea. Please give that a go as its my favorite. My grandad also painted the ouma painting for the Ouma brand rusks. So it's very special to me. Please also try walkie talkies, bunny chow, a proper braai and potjie.

  • Here in the USA, when I get a McDonald’s Big Breakfast, I split the biscuit, put the butter and jelly on it, then the sausage, then the hash browns, then the scrambled eggs, and eat it like a big sandwich. I eat the pancakes separately. But I suppose you could use the pancakes for a sandwich also!
