  • Pryor making the point that Chad was not in fear after the gun attack speaks volumes to the fact that he is involved rather than not involved. He knew that only Tammy was the target. 🎯 He knew he had nothing to fear.

    @michadawn234@michadawn23412 күн бұрын
  • The fact that Tammy googled paintball guns makes me even more convinced that it wasn’t a paintball gun. If you saw a thing and thought it was a paintball gun…you wouldn’t google “paintball gun.” If you saw something and thought it was an AR and your husband goes “I’m sure it was just a paintball gun” THEN you would google “paintball gun” and potentially believe your husband when a paintball gun that looks like an AR pops up. Then you would call the police and so-as not to sound like an alarmist you would just go with it being a prank with a paintball gun…because it sound ridiculous that someone would be trying to assassinate a school librarian.

That patriarchal blessing is the big piece of evidence that make it clear beyond a reasonable doubt that Chad wasn’t just infatuated with Lori and oblivious to the actions of her murderous brother. He was very good at insulating himself. But luckily Lori felt it was important enough to memorialize by recording it.

  • The fact that in so many states (including Idaho), the coroner is an elected position and they don’t have to have a medical background is terrifying to me. It makes me wonder how many cases slip through the cracks because an inexperienced coroner doesn’t catch it so therefore the body is never sent to a medical examiner to have a proper autopsy performed.

Actually prior is probably doing the best job someone CAN do with this case and he totally tore the coroner apart yesterday- which is NOT good for the defense. You can’t win on appeal if you don’t object a lot, and if you don’t act offended by the witness’ testimony then why should the jury be? He’s a jerk when he’s got certain witnesses (eg coroner) because being a jerk puts pressure on them to stumble over their words and look bad, and he’s nice when he will get in trouble with the jury (eg messing with Colby and other victims). He’s annoying! But he’s not getting paid a fortune to win a personality contest.

    • The only connection between Alex Cox and Tammy Daybell is Chad Daybell. Prior is attempting to provide alternatives to Alex attempting to take Tammy’s life with a rifle. If he can make the jury think it was just a local youth with a paintball gun then there are fewer pieces of evidence pointing to her death being a premeditated murder.

      @malloryobryant@malloryobryant12 күн бұрын
    • He’s trying to convince the jury this wasn’t premeditated. Because this incident shows there was a previous attempt on her life, therefore her death was a murder by another way. That’s why Pryor spent all day on this, he has to prove this wasn’t an attempted murder and just some random kid with a paintball gun and not connected to this.

Take that for what you will. Former jurors from Loris trial have also said that they can tell when certain jurors look annoyed at prior. I think he’s putting up a good fight, but by no means is he winning. Not worried about it.

    @robynnefedrighi7600@robynnefedrighi760013 күн бұрын
    • There is but there are a ton of other factors too. It’s not like the jury won’t deliberate just because prior is a jerk and then immediately find Chad guilty. Here’s what I’ve concluded over time- lawyers can usually get away with being snarky with detectives and coroners if they screwed something up OR if the lawyer can make it appear that way. I think by Prior getting offended by their mishaps, it makes a huge statement to the entire court that they’re all just a bunch of clowns that don’t know what they’re doing so we should write them all off. But lawyers should tread super carefully when questioning victims (like Colby). If you compare how he questioned the coroner to Colby, it’s night and day! He was very gentle with C. Because if he had not been, he’d pi$s off the jury for sure. Sometimes lawyers bring out the claws and apologize later, in closing “you can hate me but please don’t take that out on my client”. We saw that in the Murdaugh trial. It really depends on the case and how much of an uphill battle the lawyer has. Prior practically has nothing to lose so he might as well fight like a mo- fo! Also- it’s better than being so boring you put the jury to sleep like Hannah Gutierrez’ lawyer (Rust trial). (I realize you asked Peter but in case he doesn’t respond…)

The jury has a tiny percentage of info that we have and thus aren’t biased. So they may not care, might just be a little annoyed, or can be super annoyed but still highly focused on details since it’s their first time hearing all of this stuff. In the Rust trial, 98% of ppl were rooting for Hannah to lose, and about that many ppl were b!tching about her lawyer too, and what’s funny is he was the total opposite of Prior! He was meek and polite and almost everyone hated him. Why? Because they’re BIASED against him before he even opened his mouth. I don’t think ever in the history of televised trials has the public liked a defense lawyer 😂.
