🔴 NOT LEGAL ADVICE
Pryor making the point that Chad was not in fear after the gun attack speaks volumes to the fact that he is involved rather than not involved. He knew that only Tammy was the target. 🎯 He knew he had nothing to fear.
The fact that Tammy googled paintball guns makes me even more convinced that it wasn’t a paintball gun. If you saw a thing and thought it was a paintball gun…you wouldn’t google “paintball gun.” If you saw something and thought it was an AR and your husband goes “I’m sure it was just a paintball gun” THEN you would google “paintball gun” and potentially believe your husband when a paintball gun that looks like an AR pops up. Then you would call the police and so-as not to sound like an alarmist you would just go with it being a prank with a paintball gun…because it sound ridiculous that someone would be trying to assassinate a school librarian.
I think Chad made her second guess herself.
BOOM.
I agree 100% I'm convinced that Chad 'persuaded' her that it was a paint gun
I think the messages from Chad to Alex telling him how much he's helped him and Laurie already is some of the best evidence to connect them
I agree. By itself it’s useless but it (and that lame blessing) shows that Chad and him had a relationship and Alex was doing “stuff” for everyone.
I agree. That patriarchal blessing is the big piece of evidence that make it clear beyond a reasonable doubt that Chad wasn’t just infatuated with Lori and oblivious to the actions of her murderous brother. He was very good at insulating himself. But luckily Lori felt it was important enough to memorialize by recording it.
@@sallycinnamon5370 and that was stupid of her to record it
@arrivagabry it’s like many true believers…they believe so fervently that they don’t try go obfuscate their actions. Similar to how many of the high level Nazi’s that were convicted were convicted off their own record keeping or torturing and executing prisoners.
that "blessing" really is the "self snitching" of this whole case. he thanked Alex for everything he'd already done.. what did Alex do? bake them cookies? paint their house? it really is just so telling....
Bruce Rivers fan? Lol
I’m ready for the ME to testify about the findings during Tammy’s autopsy. Unbeknownst to Pryor, during his cross of the coroner, he further convinced me that she had no idea what she was doing at the death scene so let’s hear the actual details about the state of Tammy’s health and body from an actual professional medical doctor. 🤨
ME TOO!
It amazes me that it is legal to have a coroner that has basically no training in her job. Idaho needs to budget so all areas of Idaho have a medical examiner. If you have a young person who unexpectedly dies an autopsy should be mandatory.
That coroner was embarrassing!
I agree, they should've brought someone else in, more experience, especially in this case.... She was horrible... Was not sure about anything...🙄
@@trayceturner9484I feel sorry for her.
The most important evidence still to come is Chad’s texts to Lori during/after Tammy’s funeral. It is Disgusting what Chad says about how he feels about Tammy’s death. His tears in court will seem absolutely ridiculous to the jury.
I hope they see through him
Absolutely, those texts are damning and are part of the huge pile of evidence.
The fact that in so many states (including Idaho), the coroner is an elected position and they don’t have to have a medical background is terrifying to me. It makes me wonder how many cases slip through the cracks because an inexperienced coroner doesn’t catch it so therefore the body is never sent to a medical examiner to have a proper autopsy performed.
Agree
It defies logic doesn't it. Anything to save a few $'s!
Don’t change , Peter . I come to your channel for balance .
He exposed his family to p3do€$ is that okay.??
Agreed. I would watch one of the other channels that have convicted him on information from Dateline if I wanted to have bias. I want our system and Peter to stay balanced and focused on facts, not talking points from the police

For some reason, I prefer to hear the female prosecutor questioning witnesses.
She is the best of the entire prosecution team for sure.
Yeah, woods seems to get very upset... Which I would be too
She does a terrific job. She is clear and precise and firm and polite and respectful and impactful. I wish she could handle this whole trial.
Yes Ms Blake does an amazing job! I love it when she objects to Prior every other sentence. I find myself wanting her to do it even more. That guy gets on my nerves.
I agree
Peter…the fact that you so clearly explain both sides is very much appreciated….
I don’t understand and might never understand how a coroner isn’t a medical doctor
Because he is a coroner: different education and internship , open a book sometime ! 🙄
It's up to state law. Ask your representatives to change the law so it makes sense.
@@leedavis3704you’re just a ray of sunshine aren’t you
John Oliver did a segment on this a few years back and I was completely blown away! Coroners literally don’t have to know anything medical in some states! Remember the one in Murdaugh’s case that said something about checking the armpits!? 😆
@@annapeek5838 I’m a realist, And if you don’t know what something is then look it up everything you need to know can be found on the INTERNET, don’t set yourself up to look stupid educate yourself !
I don't see a reason for people to be angry. They can disagree and do it with respect, but anger is not necessary. Doesn't help anyone.
You obviously do not live in the real world, people are jerks, they get angry, it’s why we have anger management classes and therapy because anger is a real thing ! And the cause is generally child hood trauma, or some kind of severe trauma, Fix childhood and life trauma, Then you might fix anger issues, until then try to live in the real world!
@leedavis3704 I hope you get help dealing with your childhood trauma and anger issues so the real world can be a better place.
That’s what pissed me off was when he was body shaming Tammy
@@leedavis3704ok we get it, you need therapy. What OP was saying is that there’s no reason to be angry over someone’s opinion about the trial being different than yours, and if you ARE then take it up with your doctor, and not here. I have borderline personality disorder from my childhood trauma and I don’t use that as an excuse to be an a- hole. There is NO excuse.
@@leedavis3704 So civil discourse is unreasonable because you say? People are hateful because they choose to act evil towards their neighbors. You act as if people cant control themselves and/or they get a pass because they had it tough as a kid. Guess what einstein? Most of us have it rough as kids and it doesnt excuse us from being loving to our neighbors or even our enemies. You have been brainwashed by liberal psycho babble. Read the bible and stop blaming sin on trauma. You sound like a fool. It all boils down to SIN. People sin because they want to. People are mean at other people because they are wicked sinners who will not repent.
I love that you speak your mind. People shouldn’t be mad about that. You are educating us through trials.
It’s bonkers how many people just want an echo chamber of “prior sucks, he’s too mean, he’s going to lose, yadda yadda…”. Actually prior is probably doing the best job someone CAN do with this case and he totally tore the coroner apart yesterday- which is NOT good for the defense. You can’t win on appeal if you don’t object a lot, and if you don’t act offended by the witness’ testimony then why should the jury be? He’s a jerk when he’s got certain witnesses (eg coroner) because being a jerk puts pressure on them to stumble over their words and look bad, and he’s nice when he will get in trouble with the jury (eg messing with Colby and other victims). He’s annoying! But he’s not getting paid a fortune to win a personality contest.
Prior apparently bought chubbys house eek
Peter, I'm disappointed with some docs being denied, yet others allowed.
Him and EDB probably the most competent lawyers on this platform that will explain it like it is. Love both channels.
@@kateashby3066 Prior is actually working for pennies. He has been working for Chad for over 3 yrs and is only going to be paid by selling Chads house and the small amount of land that Chad signed over to him. I researched the neighborhood and the house with a few acres is worth about 400k. Chad is broke. He didnt get the insurance money. Prior tried to get out of this trial I think because he knows he is virtually working for pennies.
I listen to the entire trial live daily...yet I still come to your channel for the recap and your input . I love that you make me think outside of what I would, not mad at all for all your points of views that stir it up for me. Keep doing you!!!
Exactly! If we are honest with ourselves we become quite biased after following a case for so long. I love hearing opposing perspectives.
The reason that Chaz children were never brought into the dark and light thing, is that they were not obstacles. They did not stand in the way of Chad and LORI’s happiness. LORI‘s children were still young, and required attention.…… particularly JJ. They used all their mumbo-jumbo to read themselves of what they thought were obstacles to their happiness.
Her daughter was outspoken did not like Chad and Lori is so self centered she didnt want to take care of them and just wanted the money. The honey and the money !! Sick , sick , sick!!!
Chad's kids weren't Social security beneficiaries so same motives didn't exist for them. Probably saved them.
They were not in their way, didn't have to raise them because they are adults, and no money to be made with his kids.
100%
@@therealdeal3672Exactly. Lori and Chad squeezed the last penny out of those children
Prior constantly adds in more than he should for the jurors to hear when he ask questions.
That’s very smart. He also repeats key points a LOT, like constantly calling it a PAINTBALL g u n, and “you dug her out if the ground!”. He’s a tool but he’s no dummmmy!
He is doing his job. If you or a family member were arrested, you would want a zealous advocate to keep you from being steamrolled.
I never hear “ questions “ from Prior - only narratives
Can't stand Pryor. Condescending as heck.
Pryor bathers on and puts in all kinds of nonsense and then says, "Am i right?"
I am sick of the paintball gun discussion- that’s not what killed her. Can we focus on the fact that Chad’s stories are all over the place regarding facts of Tammy’s health and death? He withheld information from some, wrote her health issues started day before she died- yet told people she wasn’t well. But she was well…
I definitely prefer your honest professional opinion instead of changing your statements depending on what chat and comments say. After all we're here for a lawyers professional opinion
As a juror - why would the defense insist it was a paintball gun if they were not involved? What would it matter?
I think this is prior's way of distracting the jury - if they repeatedly hear (whether true or not) it was a paintball gun - then it could create reasonable doubt. Prior is the illusionist saying look at this beautiful flower in my hand - but don't look at the AR-15 pointing at your head!
That is a very good point! Prior’s insistence that it is a paint ball gun may make the jurors question if that incident was in fact a prequel to Tammy’s actual death.
The only connection between Alex Cox and Tammy Daybell is Chad Daybell. Prior is attempting to provide alternatives to Alex attempting to take Tammy’s life with a rifle. If he can make the jury think it was just a local youth with a paintball gun then there are fewer pieces of evidence pointing to her death being a premeditated murder.
He’s trying to convince the jury this wasn’t premeditated. Because this incident shows there was a previous attempt on her life, therefore her death was a murder by another way. That’s why Pryor spent all day on this, he has to prove this wasn’t an attempted murder and just some random kid with a paintball gun and not connected to this.

How do we know that “Tammy” searched paint ball guns? Maybe Chad searched on Tammy’s phone? I think Chad wanted to convince Tammy that is was not a “real gun “
Hey……. awesome!! LoL
I think she was trying to find a gun that matched what she saw. I think that shows that she didn’t know.
@@melanieaveryeasthope3980 Seems that Lindsey proved no such search was ever made…Liar Prior
Personally, I think it point to Tammy thinking it was a real gun and someone, probably Chad, saying “I’m sure it was just a paintball gun why would anyone pull a real gun on you.” And then Tammy googling to see if paintball guns can really look like that. So she went with the paintball gun prank theory…because who would assassinated a school librarian. If I KNOW something is a paintball gun immediately…i don’t google google “paintball gun.” If I am questioning it something was a paintball gun then I would google paintball gun.
Peter, I like the way you spell out your thoughts regarding evidence. What an exceptional group who know so much regarding law. I’m learning a lot! I’m excited about being a member.
If my husband died suddenly at 49yrs old, I’d want an autopsy, I’d need to know exactly why and how, as awful as it is, I wouldn’t just accept it like it was normal or expected, I’d be devastated and think about it constantly. The fact Chad didn’t request it and they all just buried her and moved on is very suss. Normal people don’t act like this, this isn’t normal emotions.
Omg if I were a juror I would be screaming…”who cares “
I bet today they fell asleep I did, 2 hours talking about a paintball gun that proves nothing to help Chad. We all know it was Alex, but he was Chad and Lori's hit man, they gave the orders
They got married 13 days after Tammy’s funeral not 3 days. It was the funeral that was 3 days after her death.
Don't forget they bought their wedding rings and wedding clothes BEFORE Tammy died.
I look so forward to your lunch time summaries. I learn so much about the law. Thank you Peter. South African granny 🇿🇦🙏
Anyone who thinks Chad is nit guilty on all counts is delusional!°
I might become a member strictly off of the “That story slaps” comment. Love your legal analysis - easy to digest
As a paralegal, albeit retired, I've been following this & other trials out of personal interest. Just learned of your KZhead channel yesterday & been retrowatching. Like your both sides analysis & explanations for those new to this trial, especially considering we're not the jury and have access to info they supposedly haven't seen. Juries are unpredictable, so hopefully they're logical and can connect dots and Prosecution closing arguments tell that "Story" extremely well. Thanks for the coverage. Enjoying this channel and also many non-personally derogatory comments. 🙂
The google search of paintball guns before the 911 call just solidified the fact that she didn’t know the difference between a paintball gun and a rifle

your coverage is the best & I love that u include ur wife and colleagues sometimes - this channel is great
Thanks for recapping this!
If his children take the stand and lie to defend him then I will find them despicable and know the apple(s) didn’t fall far from the tree. Even Lori’s son (who had just lost his entire family) did not lie for his mother- he told the truth. So I guess we will see just what these kids are made of.
You are doing a tremendous job. I know you don’t respond to people like us who are not members. You are impartial and honest to present an easier explanation

That’s why I’m here! I’m so sick of ppl saying that prior is a terrible lawyer. No- he’s kicking butt (for the most part) and y’all just don’t like his personality, as if being a criminal defense attorney has anything to do with being likable 😂. I appreciate that Peter calls balls AND strikes and isn’t biased. That’s rare it seems.

Hi all- 1st time watcher- love the analysis!
From Emma's comments about Colby to her father in the police car i just wonder how long it would have been before Colby became dark given he would turn to his mother financially at times of need..... especially now it seems light and dark concept was known to the Daybell family from today's evidence.....
Yes i was hoping he was going to discuss that. I was shocked to hear they had all bought into the light/dark madness
Live the coverage of this trial
I think the state will have sealed the deal once Zulema testifies. I’m hoping that’s tomorrow! People inside the courtroom have noticed the jury doesn’t take notes during Priors cross. Take that for what you will. Former jurors from Loris trial have also said that they can tell when certain jurors look annoyed at prior. I think he’s putting up a good fight, but by no means is he winning. Not worried about it.
Yes to all of this! :)
I'm kind of afraid that coroner is going to make the jurors think
Do you know a youtube channel where the chat is friendly and might answer questions?
Who is Zulema (to Chad)?

I’m just now catching up. We had a major development in the case against the guy who was driving when my brother was killed. The guy is pleading to felony motor vehicle homicide and DUI. I don’t know how I feel about it.
It’s resolution… a very tragic resolve, but still necessary for closure. 😢 🙏
Hugs and prayers. Justice for your brother.
I know how you feel my brother was hit by a drunk driver. He was spared but his passenger/best friend was killed. The guy only got 1 year in jail and a thousand dollar fine. Not enough 😢 Especially when we found out he had killed someone else in another state. So my heart goes out to you. Love and prayers coming your way.
I’m so sry that has happened to your family. There is no good out come. Only having your brother back would be acceptable. I hope you get to see him again when we all inevitably leave this planet.
I’m so sorry.

The reason I listen to you is that you are unbiased and let us draw our own conclusions. I am really enjoying your coverage of this trial. Thank you, Peter😘
I love the recaps and I watch a few different ones because you hear different perspectives and even if you’re able to watch the entire thing, sometimes you miss something. Love to hear people’s questions and comments also because lots of good points are brought up.
And Peter brings such a different perspective that’s specific to the legal side of things, as well as his experience.
How do they know that Chad didn't TELL Tammy that it was "probably a paint gun," and she believed him?
I had the same thought.
Exactly what I thought 😢he had to cover for Alex failed attempt so as not to create a fuss, they should be questioning the fact there was a guy dressed in black wearing a ski mask pointing a gun be it a paintball gun or actual gun! Like either way this is worrying concerning behaviour and then 10 days later she passed away in her sleep 🤔🤔🤔c’mon it’s not rocket science to at least piece it all together later after she passed away ?!?! And then realise “ wait🤔think Tammy has mistaken a real gun for a paintball gun?!?! AND isn’t it weird that Chad wasn’t showing concern a guy dressed in black wearing a ski mask was pointing a gun be it paintball or actual gun at his wife?!?! I’m praying the jury reads into this 🙏🙏🙏
I think is exactly what a the google search proves. If she always thought it was a paintball gun…why would she need to google paintball gun?
@@mynonamechannel EXACTLY!

Peter is there any research on the link between defense attorney's likability and jury decision making?
There is but there are a ton of other factors too. It’s not like the jury won’t deliberate just because prior is a jerk and then immediately find Chad guilty. Here’s what I’ve concluded over time- lawyers can usually get away with being snarky with detectives and coroners if they screwed something up OR if the lawyer can make it appear that way. I think by Prior getting offended by their mishaps, it makes a huge statement to the entire court that they’re all just a bunch of clowns that don’t know what they’re doing so we should write them all off. But lawyers should tread super carefully when questioning victims (like Colby). If you compare how he questioned the coroner to Colby, it’s night and day! He was very gentle with C. Because if he had not been, he’d pi$s off the jury for sure. Sometimes lawyers bring out the claws and apologize later, in closing “you can hate me but please don’t take that out on my client”. We saw that in the Murdaugh trial. It really depends on the case and how much of an uphill battle the lawyer has. Prior practically has nothing to lose so he might as well fight like a mo- fo! Also- it’s better than being so boring you put the jury to sleep like Hannah Gutierrez’ lawyer (Rust trial). (I realize you asked Peter but in case he doesn’t respond…)
As a very proud mother, I so totally understand! Congratulations to you both!!🇨🇦🇨🇦👏💐
Rewatch crew! I love when you breakdown the Darnell trial! I didn’t understand how the prosecutor can voir dire with the Jurt in the courtroom and the witness was being crossed by Defense….I don’t understand that
Ì find myself, "Juror 19," losing respect & confidence in JP, the more he's objected to, told to use mic, & beating up witnesses. Comes across to me as desperate, not honest, breaking rules of lawyers/court codes, & grabbing at straws to try to confuse the Jury. Don't care if it was paintball gun or rifle. I wouldn't know the difference, but incident would have scared me to death. Weaves into BIG picture of case.
I really like the way you do these videos. When you take a balanced approach showing respect for people, whether it be people who disagree, or people who have a go at you, it shows your character in the way you respond. I’ve watched some other legal commentary channels that I’ve had to disconnect from because they’ve come across as misogynistic or biased. I have to say defense is definitely doing a better job of trying to defend Chad than defense of Lori. My question regarding the “paint gun” is how we can the defense determine what Tammy knew about one gun from another. I wouldn’t know one from another.
Right, I agree.
Pryor also refers to it as the paintball gun incident. Like it's a fact and proven that it was a paintball gun.
the paintball argument was a waste of time, we all know that was Alex but it doesn't mean Chad had nothing to do with it. And how do we know Tammy was certain that it was a paintball gun and Chad did not suggest it to her?
Lori had no defense but that was her fault she did not want to throw Chad under the bus, but her prophet didn't care he threw her un a train!
Yes! What does it matter if paintball gun or rifle? Someone tried to shoot her!
One thing to note is John Prior filed a motion in January 2024, to withdraw as Chad Daybell’s attorney, but the Judge Boyce denied the motion.
They had a whole hearing on it. Prior said he could be effective on his own. Chad said that he wanted to keep Prior and he trusted him to do a good job. If either had said that they thought Prior could do it well the Judge would have granted it. So far Prior has done an excellent job. And he had years to prepare and a sneak peak at the case. He just has bad facts
Hi Peter I am enjoying your critique of the trial after I watch it!! Thank you it helps my understanding of it!! One thing I have wondered thru Lori’s trial too is why Melanie Boudreaux isn’t called to testify?! I don’t understand why!!! Do you know?
This judge needs to reign in Prior. He talks right through objections. Prior mis leads witnesses. Prior will say something like "the sky is blue". Witness will disagree and Prior says "So we agree the sky is blue and therefore Chad Daybell was not outside that day". Judge isn't stopping him.
The Judge must let Prior do as he do cus he dont wanna risik misstrail - Even most of us dont like how he speak to the wtnesses (and all his "right"and "okey" make me crazy)
It’s not his job! The judge MUST remain impartial and allow the LAWYERS to object. If he gets overly involved he is no longer impartial. He also doesn’t wanna mess things up if this goes to appeal. Those justices look for favoritism. A great example- the Nik Cruz trial. The judge got fired.
@@kateashby3066 She wasn’t fired 😂😂 she retired
If Prior were doing something that goes against court decorrum the judge would correct him. The judge was also the judge for loris trial. He knows what he is doing and sadly your emotionalism has led you to believe unreasonable things about what he should and shouldnt do.

On re-play. Im watching the trial daily and personally cant stand Prior. I come to you for your perspective so that i can try and see it from both sides. I appreciate your input, thank you Peter
From what I see 90% of ppl absolutely hate John Prior and if we alllll feel like that I’m sure 90% of the jurors feel the same exact way!
I don’t agree. Humans are extremely biased creatures and we already have all the info and then some. So naturally we despise Chud, and bc we h@te him, we naturally loathe his lawyer too. The jury has a tiny percentage of info that we have and thus aren’t biased. So they may not care, might just be a little annoyed, or can be super annoyed but still highly focused on details since it’s their first time hearing all of this stuff. In the Rust trial, 98% of ppl were rooting for Hannah to lose, and about that many ppl were b!tching about her lawyer too, and what’s funny is he was the total opposite of Prior! He was meek and polite and almost everyone hated him. Why? Because they’re BIASED against him before he even opened his mouth. I don’t think ever in the history of televised trials has the public liked a defense lawyer 😂.
@@kateashby3066 not true. Prior is so condecending and disgusting despise who he is a lawyer for

Peter, you should bot have to make a video pointing out that a defendant deserves a decent defense. These folks who have convicted this defendant through media info should be happy that our system tries to get to the facts and as close as possible to the truth. Thank you for your balanced outlook and information. You are doing good work.
I mean…to be fair i lot of people could have followed the last trial…it’s not just articles and rumour.
@@sallycinnamon5370 I get it. I listened to a good part of the Lori trial but to be fair, her attorneys did little to nothing to actually defend her. Common sense says they are guilty but this is a trial where facts are presented and challenged. That did not happen in the Lori Vallow trial.

Im enjoying the Daybell recaps. It's a lot to watch and near as interesting as a lot of other big cases. I'm also looking forward to the Karen Read's trial. Other lawyers have been talking like she was setup and believe she's innocent, which i know that's how it's supposed to until proven otherwise. It gets confusing before the trial has even started. Thanks for doing all you do for us. We appreciate you.
Great question Sarah Chetty! ✌🏼❤️✌🏼I imagine a lot of people think of this…
If it was a paintball gun why isn't anyone asking "Were there paintballs splattered on anything?" And conversely "If it was Alex Cox AR 15, where are the real bullets it fired? Did the police look for them?"
The jury can really see how broken up Chad was over the death of Tammy. So broken up he married in two weeks later, dancing on the beach happily without a care.
Likely, Chad didn't stand to benefit financially from his own childrens' deaths. That's why they weren't "dark". I just get tired and frustrated when Prior is constantly trying to testify.
❤only for your perspective sir 🫡
I value your objectivity
Alex Cox may have committed the murders but with CD prompting. The blessing that CD gave to Alex (thanking Alex for helping his sister, LVD) then Alex is suddenly dead after the bad deeds are done - all this connects back to CD.
How can anyone think he is innocent. The state better step up their game! He is not innocent in this case.
I have an Apple Watch. I didn’t know there were competitions. Maybe I should think about that. I would just evaluated by a physical therapist and she thinks that I am in great shape for someone who is going on 81 years old. I passed all test with flying colors. I got the Apple Watch because I was missing too many phone calls, and it does have some good safety features on it. I just told my daughter to get it, but not to tell me how much I paid for it. That worked.
I would assume it was a paintball gun because In my mind I could not imagine someone aiming a real rifle or shotgun at me. She didn’t run but faced him! Thank God it didn’t work. Chad must have been so shocked then had to take things into his own hands to rid of his wife. 😢
I've grown up shooting guns and around guns my whole life, but I am not sure I'd know what was being used if someone was suddenly shooting at me, due to the shock of it all. Maybe? I think I would, since I have shot a lot of firearms, but I just don't know and haven't seen anything saying TD was a gun person. Maybe she WANTED to believe that it was a paintball gun, because otherwise that is so dark.
Not my original idea but I found quite plausible that Chad (who was inside at the time) gaslighted her and tried to diminish the danger. Honey, why would someone try to shoot you? Pretty sure it was some prankster with a paintball gun. How do we know it wasn’t Chad googling the paintball gun to prove his point?
If you think Tammy was murdered then Chad had to be involved. He didn’t say I went for a walk at 3am and then came back and Tammy was dead. They’re hanging their defence on Tammy being so ill she just died. And it was just some random who shot at her while Alex was in the area. And although she was on deaths door she was thinking of hitting the guy with her clogging shoes
